@GeorgiePorgieOrgie - Your comment sounds just as ridiculous as someone saying "They really think they're full bi-racial". YOU MAKE NO SENSE, BECAUSE NO BLACK AMERICAN, A.K.A. AFRICAN AMERICAN IS FULL BLOODED AFRICAN. We don't need to have a white parent to be of mixed race.
@americanpatriot00 thats just an exsuce blacks use to be more white. If you have two parents that are of different race you're mixed. if you have two white parents your white. 2 black parents your black. People are using the whole 1600 thing to be less than what they are. a.k.a the blacks. sorry but its true. im mixed the people in that fucking panel are mixed leave it at that. they beleive in the one drop. fuck that shit.
@GeorgiePorgieOrgie - NEWS FLASH! IF it's a PROVEN FACT, it cannot be an excuse. Your statement makes about as much sense as a submarine with screen doors. That's just like saying "having naturally dark skin is an excuse to not wear as much Sun Screen as a white person.
@americanpatriot00 I am mixed race. The point he is making is, why does ANY drop of "black blood" make you black? Is only white a pure race? No it is not. It's just as racist to call a mixed person white as it is black.
@GeorgiePorgieOrgie I am mixed race and agree 100%. Why does one drop of black blood make you black? It does not. That implies white is pure and black is anything else.
@ojideagu thank yoU! its true, this lady who posted this is an immature runt. Black people seriously cant stand the fact that we want to identify with both races, its like some weird thing that they like to claim people, yet they still talk shit about the mixed person and treat them like shit. i know frist hand because it use to happen to me alot. I'm not excusing whites at ALL for things they have done in the past, but shes seriously a hypocrite and fool, btw shes mixed herself, what a fool.
@GeorgiePorgieOrgie Those people have the right to identify themselves as they choose. Just as you do, and it is true that African Americans are not pure african. We are a mixture. The one drop rule ment if a white person had a ancester that was black.....not a parent....then they had to be considered a person of color or black. That is not the same as haveing one parent that identifies as black.....A person that identifies as bi-racial is still a person of color.
@alisonsworldtv excatly, so i have the right to say im mixed. and not black or white or native american. im mixed, was born mixed and will die mixed. im tired of giving a fuck what other non mixed people think. if you dont like me, cool fuck off. Im mixed. just mixed.
@GeorgiePorgieOrgie You have every right to say you'er mixed...whats the big deal....if people are giving you grief for not being white or whatever, then that is there issue...take pride in what ever your heritage is.... because no one is pure anything now a days...its just most of us have the luxary of two parents that Identify as one race....if most african americans had a DNA or genetic testing done you would see...they are in fact MIXED.
@alisonsworldtv Not everyone, i know a guy named franky (my sis bf) and he straight black. 0 percect european. and that was through a test. and yes most african americans do have some sort of european but in al honesty, its not enough to actually identify them as being mixed. at most its like 16% meaning the rest of their genetic make up was african. Plus most black people dont like saying that there is any white in them considering their ancestors were forced to have sex. i dnt count tht as mix
@americanpatriot00 THANK YOU I TOTALLY AGREE READ MY COMMENTS ON THIS VIDEO AND OTHER VIDEOS LIKE TYRAS RACIST TOPICS.NO ONE SEEMS TO UNDERSTAND WHEN I STATE THAT TO.
WTF I grew up in the 60s and my mother was white as snow and I was a brown girl and never wished I was white. She must not have taught self pride to her daughter. I dont understand that at all.
@Nanadsyl - I believe you are talking about Kathleen? What she was explaining was that she ( as well as other black/biracial parents) cannot afford to NOT instill a sense of pride in our children of color, because our children are bombarded with all kinds of subliminal messages that says white is better. Parents that do not may eventually hear their children say shocking things like "I wish God didn't make me brown".
That is so true people do not understand the Black American/African American experience. Racism does exist then and now, and the experience of a White Jewish American is not the same. As a matter of fact look at Jewish and Black relations. Look at how they are treated and who is usually on the lower end. People won't get it until they walk a mile in your shoes. In order for people to get what it is like to be Black, tell someone oneday you are part Black and see how they treat you
I wish Donahue didn't make that defensive statement at the end, because Kathleen Kross is 100% correct. The majority of the whites in the audience don't appear to be open to understanding Kathleen Cross's point of view.
Whites have no right to be bitching about racism period, we had a debate at our school about racism, and this angry caucasion kid said its its ok for blacks to racist but when whites do it its hell , well blacks and some other ethnicities experience racism, bias, discrimantory behavior from whites all time, so of course were not gonna open up to you guys thats just the way it is, this has been going on for plenty of years, when the Irish, italians, came here they went throught classsism not racism.
@MrJuxtapoz2010 whites have no right to complain about racism? oh yea, why make a argument against legal racist practices like affirmative action, segregated schools (in canada. niggers have their own schools but hell if whites do), minority only scholarships, etc but no, lets complain about that unspoken general racism all you retards pass forward that you have been indoctrinated to belive in such as: stating the race of an individual, looking wierdly at one of them, and practicing chrisitanity
@tyronewashington1 - AMAZING that people like you complain about Affirmative Action when you still get the largest piece of the pie with Affirmative Action in place.
@tyronewashington1 Wow. With a name like Tyrone you don't need to be calling anyone a nigger. Now let's address affrimative action. This is a damn insult, not a blessing from the oh so benevolent white man as you would like to make it out to be. Just the fact that we have to result to such measures to combat discrimination makes it blatantly obvious that our society is very much still racist.
@tyronewashington1 And what the hell is Canada doing with an all black school? Please explain this to me because I seriously wanna know. In Canada? Anyway what is this shit about practicing Christianity being racism? Man stop rambling
I've watched this series of videos repeatedly and just love more each time!!! I've never heard ppl talk so intelligently about race and I agree with them to the infinite power. I love when Rock says "Don't make me the animal. The animal is the one calling my brother a nigger". That statement gives me chills!!! I wish this group of guest had their own show. They are really inspirational.
@Crazii3Compl3xLuV3 But, I disagree with him, when he said blacks can't be racist. Anyone can be racist but whites are just known for their racism more. It's just something they have to live with, I guess.
I don't find any respect for the black gentleman. His 'victimization' has skewed his entire perspective. It is so blindingly obvious, it's like- shut the fuck up..
@americanpatriot00 - AWESOME POINTS MADE!!!! I didn't think about many of the things you pointed out. Your father seems to be very insightful and educational. It sounds like he sparred no expense in telling you the hardcore truth no matter how politically incorrect it may be nowadays. EXCELLENT!
White is better?Hahaha I am Italian and Native American Indian and German. In my childhood I was NEVER told white people are better I was told stand on your own two feet and be proud of who you are. Shut up with this white vs. black and black vs. the world. So what if you black, white, green, purple with a hint of yellow SO WHAT! Stop playing the victim roll and grow some fuckin balls! Blacks are just as racist as whites!
@EthanCole15 - Study US history. My father is white and even he said that blacks are not even close to being as racist as whites. As a rule, blacks give their children white names and traditionally prayed to a white Jesus. How many whites give their white children black names and attend churches with a Black Jesus sculpture? Dad said if blacks had whites as slavery the same way that whites had blacks as slaves, the score still would not be even. Just a hypothetical example. lol
The overwhelming majority (99.8%) of all Black and Hispanic people are a variation of the color brown, and don't sas the host of this Youtube Page, or else I'll block your ass. Understand?
@americanpatriot00 well i see the apple hasnt fallen far from the tree on stupidity, "As a rule, blacks give their children white names.." that is one of the greatest modern law in american history that still stands today. "Dad said if blacks had whites as slavery the same way that whites had blacks as slaves" a better question would if blacks were the slave masters, would they abolish it as fast as whites did, because if whites were the firs to abolish it? to conclude, youre dad is an idiot
the jewish white woman is victim-blaming. this is the problem with our society . it's amazing how people would rather identify with the perpetrator than sympathize with a victim. i suppose it's because no one really wants to admit to themselves just how deep racism runs.
Anyone who has ever cared about me at all never really seemed to view me as any race, I was just me. So, I only need to be a person, not a race. Don't get me wrong, I would like to feel a connection to a community of people, but it isn't essential. Truly non-racist people will accept me whatever race I am or am not.
Why would I claim to be white when most white people would say I wasn't white? Why would I claim to be black when most black people do not accept me as being black? My own mother has told me I am a disappointment to her because I didn't come out of her looking blacker! Well, I don't understand why she picked a white man to father her children if she wanted black children?! If neither racial community accepts me as there own, why would I claim either of them? I don't!
Why do black people feel the need to me multiracial? I don't feel the need to be multiracial, I am multiracial. We are all members of the biological human race. However, all these other races are manmade institutions. They are like social clubs that you must be accepted into to become a member. I cannot just claim to be black without being accepted by the black community; no more than a person can claim to be a member of a fraternity without being accepted by the fraternity members.
I agree when the woman on stage said "You usually can't spot a Jew a mile away." Black people are obviously look different than white people right from the start; because of it, black people experience much more racism than most other races.
so...watching this in 2011 and a lot of black people wanna bleach their skin to be lighter so I'm sure that woman's child is feeling fine about her skin now. I personally don't think the world or society will ever change!
an odd complaint that you hear on occasion. black is associated with the absense of light which humans naturally fear since vision is our primary sense. I've never seen somone as black as a tuxedo before. Instinctual and culture feelings about the color black are 95-99% seperate from feelings about the race. There are positive connotations to the color black too. It's my favorite.
I think Racism proceeds to be an issue in america because people tend to speak as a group instead of speaking as an individual. Of course other factors play a role in perpetuating racism, but i find more people have pride in something they have no control over such as race before having pride in an accomplishement of what they've built themselves to become. I am hispanic and have pride in my heritage, but i speak for myself not for my community and i take pride in excelling as an individual.
@RamirezRoyalty You're right! But MOST of the problem is not the fact that people try to speak for their community, it is that people group people together as a community based on the color of their skin and associated negativity. Ex: Because Black males are more likely commit violent crime, ALL Black males are at fault and it is Black people's responsibilty to do something. This mentality separates us as a people because we are faulting people for things they have no control over.
"Jew'? I wouldn't even know that woman was Jewish or Swedish if I saw her on the street. Being "Jewish'' is about a person's faith and not about race. She's white.
@wovokanarchy - Yeah I didn't get that either. I mean, if these people on the panel were able to live among whites as whites, how on earth could anybody detect who is of the JEWISH FAITH just by looking at someone ??????
I think that women of "THE JEWISH FAITH" just wanted to add her 2 cents just to get her seconds of fame on TV.
@americanpatriot00 Some people associate their Jewish faith with their Hebrew (language, culture, history, etc.heritage). They don't really separate the two.
I am white and let me tell you, jews are a different race than us! They have there own culture and there own customs! Jews are not white, they just look it. Like the blacks on here that look white, it is all perception.
@pfctjd Don't know about that. You have black Jews, white Jews, Chinese Jews, East Indian Jews....are they the same ''race''? I think being Jewish is a matter of faith and not based on a person's DNA or morphology.
Jews only acknowledge the ashkenazi and sephardic jews, which resemble whites. Convert Jews are not recognized as true Jews. BTW, If Jews are the same race as whites then what was the holocaust all about?
@pfctjd Sorry to correct you once again. The Sephardic Jews are dark skin people who lived in Spain and northern Africa. The Ashkenazi Jews are from people who have no historical connection to the original Jews from the diaspora of ancient Israel. The Ashkanazi are descendant from the Khazar people in Europe, hence their white phenotype. The Ethiopian Jews are perhaps the closet to the original Jews in biblical times. Dark skin is the norm in a desert area and not blonde hair blue eye people.
If you are going to get rude with me, then I will get rude with you. You are just too stupid to talk to any more, this is the last message I will send to a fool like you. Israel only wants the "white" jews there. I am not talking about what happend 2,000-3,000 years ago. Israel does not aknowledge the black ethiopian jews as true jews.
@wovokanarchy You are wrong Jewish is also a race, well I always see it that being Jewish sets you apart from being white at times because there are certain characteristics that define a person as Jewish as there are that define someone as black or any other race for that matter. You can't ALWAYS tell when someone is Jewish but sometimes you can distinguish it like you know when someone is Arab, Italian, Indian, etc.
@andrika1990 I go back to my original posting. How are Chinese, Ethiopian, Arab, Russian ,or East Indian Jews all the same ''race''? If I saw Alan Dershowitz, Jon Stewart, Joaquin Phoenix walking down the street I would just see white people.
@wovokanarchy I see your point but I don't see Israeli people as white and they are technically Jewish, Jews have been racially mixed with other cultures just like blacks. So their are alot of them with Europan lineage or whatever else. But I mean most people assume that being Muslim means you are Arab, which is not always the case. So being Jewish is not just about religious concept its also about ethnic background. You could call it a race AND a religion combined. But not just one or the other
@andrika1990 As far as I know the three I mentioned are American. I think what you are actually arguing is that you don't believe in an idea as ''race''. Which is fine, but I still wouldn't see a clear distinction between a white gentile walking down the street and a white Jew walking down the street. They would be considered generic white people or more specifically caucasion or European. I don't understand why it's so important that Jews be considered a ''race'' anyway. Why is that?
@wovokanarchy I always thought that it was made out to be a race by so much blatant hatred of it as a group of people. WWII is an example. I find it absurdly stupid to persecute a whole race of people based on their religion, don't get me wrong it can happen. However what was it that Hitler pointed out about Jews not being "racially" pure? (he wanted a distinct trait of blond hair/blue eyes.) Now where on earth would this come about if they weren't of a distinct ethnic background?
@andrika1990 There is no logic to antisemitism nor to a psychotic like Hitler. You might as well as try and figure out Ted Bundy or John Wayne Gacy's motives. Just because Nazi ideology believed Jews to be a race does not mean they are, right? Hell look at all the leadership of the Nazis they very well did not epitomize the idea of the master race. HItler was not blonde nor blue eyed, Himmler was a little twirp, Goebbels was an ugly fuck, Goering was an obese piece of shit, on and on.
@wovokanarchy well when i studied religion i learned that Judaism is the religion. when someone say they're jewish it can mean the race and/or they practice the religion. look it up. i'm no expert. just saying what i've learned.
@alonaBAM To be honest I would not rely on a religious course to find information on race issues. I would take some sociology or anthropology courses instead.
@wovokanarchy Well, that depends. Jews are an ethno-religious group. Which combine aspects of religion and ethnicity. Similar to the Mandaeans or Yezidis in Iraq. Ashkenazi Jews are mostly of Western and Central European descent. While Sephardic and Mizrahi Jews are of Middle Eastern ancestry.
@DarthVadent2 What about the Ethopian, Chinese, East Indian, or Arab Jews? Are they all one ethnicity as you say? They all may worship the same but they certainly don't live, or look the same. I think you are probably saying that the only ''true'' Jews are the ones that come from Europe or the ones that matter.
@wovokanarchy I never stated that Jews were all one ethnicity, I was referring to specific types of Jews. I wasn't insinuating that the only "true" Jews were from Europe. As a matter of fact, if we're strictly addressing the genealogy of these communities. Then Mizrahi Jews and some Sephardi Jews are the most Middle Eastern.
While Ashkenazi Jews have significant European genetic signatures. The converts to Judaism, are just as Jewish regardless of their ancestral lineages.
I'm sorry, but a person of Caucasian, European descent will not be able to understand the anger of the people on this panel (or black people in general); not at this present time, anyhow. To be judged and down-graded on something as trivial as your skin pigmentation is an outrage and is enraging...you cannot even begin to understand if you haven't seen and experienced it.
My real knowledge of the game is so real that it is hard as steel. We tend to forget that the whites are just people who are just very light. Yet back in the days almost every humans looked the same way. What I mean is almost the same color like sisters and brothers like a sisters and brothers from another mother.
@americanpatriot00 Yes Oprah is right for this and she is not bias. I see why I didn't respond to this because I wouldn't really know what to say to this. Oprah have always been fair, more than you know.
HAha.. White people feel sorry but wouldn't trade it for the world. Not all but im sure like 95% will happily stay white.. FOR NOW, and "African Americans" im sure are 95% who wish they WEREWHITE. Its funny but soon and very soon! YAHWEH will come and his wrath will shower so HARD on this place, Just read in ISAIAH 43. You will see... oh and JC is BULLCRAP too!!! Its the white mans (Greek) religion FORCED on the Hebrew Israelites! and yes the NEW TESTAMENT is from a GREEK DOCUMENT, LOOK IT UP!
@justmeeex1 Not really.. Im not African American anyways so whatever to that comment... But im saying how My ppl customs relate to those of other races.. Lie the RELAXERS, the SHAVED FACE, etc... Blond HAIR.. So chill because Im from the HOOD so I know whats going on.. So what are you talking about.. And you dont even have anyway of proving me wrong so, what else do you have to add!!!.Nothing...Keep on with it whoever you may be...a heathen is what you sound like... Aite my homes.. Shalom
Google these names to learn about a few very influential people who were part black. Alessandro de Medici, Chevalier de St. Georges, Aleksander Sergeevich Pushkin, General Alexandre Dumas, Alexandre Dumas pere, Alexandre Dumas fils, Bernardino Rivadavia, and Vincente Guerrero.
Race stuff is stupid. There's no "pure race". People have moved around Earth for 1000s of years. For example someone saying they're "all white", or all anything else, isn't. Look at the people not "white" from Africa and Asia who have gone into Europe. Prehistoric migrations, Rome and Greece forcefully taking people there or people going there voluntarily, Genghis Khan, Moorish invasion (lasted 500 years!), 1400s-1800s slave trade, etc. So yes, Europeans have non-white ancestors. Its a fact.
My mother's father's mother and both of her parents were black cherokees (not officially part of a tribe), and there's a line of native ancestry going into the 1700s. On that same side I have a white greatX3 grandfather. No records on my father's side but his mother/grandmother are clearly black-indians (native eyes/hair and black+native features). And there are light-skinned people (means white ancestry) on both sides of my family, yet I'm still called "black"? That's how things are in America.
Because of the One Drop Rule (when it was officially in effect in the slave days, and in the modern days when the habit of using it was still thought to be necessary) African Americans are a very diverse group of people, which is why you have "black" people with DNA racial percentages of african, european, and native american, and skin tones and other features all over the map in varying degrees. Some "black" people might even be more white than black because of this but they don't even know it.
The One Drop Rule (from slavery days) dictated that anyone part black was to be called black, even if they were part white or Native (unless they were an official tribal member). Even after this racist rule became TECHNICALLY obsolete, the idea is still around because old habits in America are hard to break. This is why biracial people are usually still called black.
I don't think that Phil Donohue totally understood the subject, and invited these people in order to provoke agitation as well as a sense of guilt. I would wonder how this approach really helped in understanding the issue, which is very complicated. I should know, and only wish that I had been invited to offer a better balance from a different perspective.
This show did not offer enough diversity in its presentation of mixed people. Also there is only one man, and he has a chip on his shoulder. These people are not as easily "passable" as whites as others I know of. I have very intimate knowledge of this matter.
@RayPointer - LOL,LOL! I think that has something to do with the fact that the show's focus was on BLACKS PASSING AS WHITE, not mixed race Hispanics, Asians, Native Americans etc. BLACKS.
why is it wrong for ppl of mixed ancestry to identify with their past? especially blacks..why do black ppl think its their duty to tell any mixed race or mullato black person that their black? in the Caribbean we are allowed to have our own identity and identify with both sides.
My family is predominantly white, native american and black. Nobody in my family looks really black but we all are. My grandmother looked like an Italian but if you said she looked white she would call you crazy. She was a black woman.
If you asked a Mexican what race they were, they would've said Mexiacn, now they'll say Latino. They and we all know damn well they're a mixture of white Spaniards, Black African slaves and Native Mexiacns, but they get to say or check the box Latino and no one says shit. But let some one with the same mixture call identify as Black, all of a sudden they're hyporcrital and denying they'r white ancestry and reverse racism. Is there something wrong with being just Black?

It's interesting when she brings up "multiracial." I didn't know that the identity even existed back then. I started identifying as "mixed" in the mid-90s.
wow, a lot of wise things were said by these women( the ones with purple clothes). at first i thought the one with the short, black hair was a bit dumb, when she was speaking as if doing laundry was a "white" thing, but she proved me wrong.
i'm also VERY familiar with the things mary said( i think that's her name?), i see it on youtube, people around etc, you cannot escape the ignorance and racism.
I'm a white looking Hispanic and thats what most people assume that I am when they first meet me. I live in a predominately black neighborhood and I gotta be careful where I look and how I look. when my family and I drive down our block we get nasty stares. In fact the other day a 7 year old black girl goes to me and my friend who's Jamaican and tells her she can't hang out with me bcuz I'm "white" WTF! I could be racist toward black people but I'm not. I just ignore those few ignorant people
@DistressedDamsel79 - It could be worse. Instead of not being your friend, they could burn a cross on your lawn, or throw a molitov cocktail bomb through your window and kill 4 little girls.
@DistressedDamsel79 Watch "HIDDEN COLORS" & "BLACK IN LATIN AMERICA" both Dvd's also read Open Veins of Latin America: Five Centuries of the Pillage of a Continent by Eduardo Galeano
@Maxantium Funny that you mention the Open Veins novel because I do have it, I just haven't read it yet...Also what are these sources suppose to tell me? (this is a totally sincere, no sarcasm intented question!)
@DistressedDamsel79 Those sources will literally change your life in a the most positive and revealing way , its like growing up all your life calling the color blue "Blue" , when in fact its actually "Red". It pretty much "BLOWS THE LID OFF" everything you thought was true when in fact its not. Its best to start with the video and then go into the books after. The videos dampens the floor to keep the dust down while preparing you for the books which will take you str8 into the dust storm.
I am a white looking black woman. I look whiter than anyone on this panel and I am very proud to call myself black. We have been through so much in American history and we have come so far I couldn't call myself "biracial". I am saddened by many of these racist comments, this stuff is so sad to me. You only hurt yourself with racism, and please remember we all are from Africa, so really you're black too.
@iamrachaelgrae - I agree with you. We are divided enough already. Why make it worse by further trying to seperate. Some people try to say to me that I am denying my white father, because I refer to myself as just black. I say to them "Ask him about that and see what he thinks, because he completely understand and has no problems whatsoever. My father doesn't see it the way others wish he did."
@cumensu - ABSOLUTELY NOT! In fact, I agree with how my father put it. He said that American Blacks, a.k.a. African Americans are all of mixed race to some degree. None are 100% African anymore. Henry Louis Gates proved that If a DNA Geneology Test was given to every African American, a percentage of European blood would show, and in some small cases, Asian/Native American as well.
.
So to be African American means to be of mixed race ancestry.
Well yeah, some of them are 100 percent African, like African or Haitian immigrants, and also there are some African Americans who are 100 percent African as well, such as Oprah. My father, who is from Jamaica, was the child of a black man with some white ancestry, and an Indian woman but he looks completely black. People often assume I'm Hispanic although some can tell I'm of African descent
@americanpatriot00, you are right. I agree with you and I did watch that documentary with Henry Louis Gates Jr. where he helped celebrities trace their roots and also where he eventually tried finding some of his white relatives. It was wonderful, I guess I believe that because you know that one your parents is black and the other is white, because you have proof before your eyes you should not choose one over the other. I don't see how people do that. If you are doing it for practical purpose,
@americanpatriot00, cont. I understand but for any other reason, I don't. Are you the woman who is shown on your profile. If so, I assumed you were a man, interesting how we humans figure things huh?
If you are a "white looking" black woman than chances are you have alot of non black ancestry. Because if you were mostly black you would look like people do in Africa. So you are simply a biracial woman who identifies as black, although that's okay if you do, after all we should all be free to identify as we choose.
You are correct, I am of mixed ancestry, but in America just a few years ago I would have been considered a "talking animal" because of African blood. Because of that drop I would have been treated as such, not allowed to be who I wanted, raped daily and forced into a life of servitude by people who look just like me and may very well have been my relatives. Because I would have been black back then how could I choose to be "mixed" now? I am black with mixed heritage.
@gatheringleaves genetics are a funny thing. my father is black, and I mean BLACK and I have white skin, green eyes and blonde hair. The colour of one's skin does not determine the ancestory in their DNA.
You are right, I am of mixed ancestory, but all African-Americans are! There is no AA who is 100% African. Back then I would have been a slave and thought of as a "talking animal" so why can't I be black when I'm in college, no children from wedlock, never depended on the government for anything? I am black if you like it or not.
I'm the pastiest whitey you'll meet and even I'm part black (thanks, Ancestry.com). The fact is, EVERYONE is mixed with something else. My only observation is that the people on the show were loud and annoying as hell. And clearly not "white" in the cultural sense (i.e. using ebonics or at least a deep nigger drawl).
Offended liberals? Watch me not give a flying shit.
Blacks and Hispanics are the true genetic mutts of society. Whites (generally) are equally mixed only by way of Nationality, not race. Also, it's not surprising that you consider the panel annoying. People of the likes of you aren't open to understanding the experiences and hardships you've never had to deal with.
.
Offended Far Right wingers? Watch ME not give a shit, not even a rat's ass.
@americanpatriot00 You fundamentally misunderstand the distinction between culture and genetics, and thus cannot understand race. And I do not like the panel because they are objectively annoying by any measure. There are tons of culturally black individuals who express themselves civilly and tons of white people who never will. Now moving back to the year 2011, the real irony here is that people like you are the main ones perpetuating racism, average Joe Whitey doesn't play those games anymore.
@americanpatriot00 perhaps the ones I read while earning 2 post-graduate degrees; wby? Ad hominem circle-jerking aside, we HAVE seen a shift in "lived" US racism. You can claim that there is still structural racism against minorities, and I'm not denying that. But in day-to-day experiences and interactions, white people are increasingly being victimized. I know black folks who have been suspiciously pulled over, but I've stared down a barrel to shouts of "empty ur pockets whitey". Not just once.
Racism needs to be redefined or used in a way; so when the people who use it, - know its actual meaning. You could say that the system now set-up- which all colors of people allow for now and allowed for back when- is the same one that pushes the USA now. Too singularly pursue it as being a one race issue to why things are the way they are, is to leave others away from what is a communal disease. Blacks on the panel become perennial victims to their environment using a monolithic
This is from the eighties. No one is free in clear of what any environment they grow up or grew up in or continue to live in. To single out anything as like just a color issue, than people in general are missing the whole point of what history has shown. Slavery has been something that has been going on since the inception of man onto this earth. Blacks and certain other races have been on the receiving end of it- the past 400 years. In reality people have always tried to enslave
Go, Kathy Cross!! "The inherent feeling of superiority." Just spoke with a friend yesterday. All the privileges and possessions whites both desire and enjoy for which they believe they have fully paid their dues. We African-Americans work no less than twice as hard and twice as long for no more than half as much than our white counterparts. Even decent whites tend to take offense at hearing the unadulterated truth about this. It's not that we simply can't get it together, as is believed.
our power is in ourselves. we have the power to change the world and not by physically trying to control all the people and events in our environment but by changing ourselves first. "Be the change you wanna see in the world". Be that change. Talk about that change. Speak that love, let it pour out like never before. Don't be afraid, all you will find is that you are more loving and courageous than you ever thought you were n you don't NEED anyone to confirm that or even agree with you on that.
to all the people who wanna promote love amongst all races: your enemy is not the racist people, your enemy is you. you not letting yourself be able to love everyone, even racists. not to say that you will agree with them but that you will understand them. understand that they are simply ignorant and lack experience with other races. nothing wrong with them, simply misinformed people. personally i have compassion for them bcoz they cannot feel this immense love i feel for humanity. can you see?
They were doing their own things. Don't get it twisted. Each one of them was well established in careers. They didn't seek out the show, the show sought out them. Furthermore, if you were to take a survey, you'll find that almost everybody (including you) probably have something worthy of being on the show to discuss (GOOD and BAD).
@americanpatriot00 every show in history seeks a story because of ratings. duh. the show sought after them because they did feel victimized and the confusion they felt during their childhood is evident in the anger. i'm not going to tell anybody to suck it up or whatever, but throughout the show i did not hear a single idea from either the audience nor them that would help them move forward. all i saw and heard was anger at the world they live in and the jobs they did focused on that anger.
the man is right, why should you teach someone how to treat you as a human

@GeorgiePorgieOrgie - Your comment sounds just as ridiculous as someone saying "They really think they're full bi-racial". YOU MAKE NO SENSE, BECAUSE NO BLACK AMERICAN, A.K.A. AFRICAN AMERICAN IS FULL BLOODED AFRICAN. We don't need to have a white parent to be of mixed race.
americanpatriot00 3 weeks ago 6
@americanpatriot00 thats just an exsuce blacks use to be more white. If you have two parents that are of different race you're mixed. if you have two white parents your white. 2 black parents your black. People are using the whole 1600 thing to be less than what they are. a.k.a the blacks. sorry but its true. im mixed the people in that fucking panel are mixed leave it at that. they beleive in the one drop. fuck that shit.

americanpatriot00 3 weeks ago
@americanpatriot00 I am mixed race. The point he is making is, why does ANY drop of "black blood" make you black? Is only white a pure race? No it is not. It's just as racist to call a mixed person white as it is black.

GeorgiePorgieOrgie 1 week ago
@GeorgiePorgieOrgie Those people have the right to identify themselves as they choose. Just as you do, and it is true that African Americans are not pure african. We are a mixture. The one drop rule ment if a white person had a ancester that was black.....not a parent....then they had to be considered a person of color or black. That is not the same as haveing one parent that identifies as black.....A person that identifies as bi-racial is still a person of color.

GeorgiePorgieOrgie 4 days ago
@GeorgiePorgieOrgie You have every right to say you'er mixed...whats the big deal....if people are giving you grief for not being white or whatever, then that is there issue...take pride in what ever your heritage is.... because no one is pure anything now a days...its just most of us have the luxary of two parents that Identify as one race....if most african americans had a DNA or genetic testing done you would see...they are in fact MIXED.
alisonsworldtv 4 days ago
@alisonsworldtv Not everyone, i know a guy named franky (my sis bf) and he straight black. 0 percect european. and that was through a test. and yes most african americans do have some sort of european but in al honesty, its not enough to actually identify them as being mixed. at most its like 16% meaning the rest of their genetic make up was african. Plus most black people dont like saying that there is any white in them considering their ancestors were forced to have sex. i dnt count tht as mix

In order for people to get what it is like to be Black, tell someone oneday you are part Black and see how they treat you

jamesandchante 2 months ago
Why would I claim to be white when most white people would say I wasn't white? Why would I claim to be black when most black people do not accept me as being black? My own mother has told me I am a disappointment to her because I didn't come out of her looking blacker! Well, I don't understand why she picked a white man to father her children if she wanted black children?! If neither racial community accepts me as there own, why would I claim either of them? I don't!
jamesandchante 2 months ago
Why do black people feel the need to me multiracial? I don't feel the need to be multiracial, I am multiracial. We are all members of the biological human race. However, all these other races are manmade institutions. They are like social clubs that you must be accepted into to become a member. I cannot just claim to be black without being accepted by the black community; no more than a person can claim to be a member of a fraternity without being accepted by the fraternity members.

"bad guys wear black"
an odd complaint that you hear on occasion. black is associated with the absense of light which humans naturally fear since vision is our primary sense. I've never seen somone as black as a tuxedo before. Instinctual and culture feelings about the color black are 95-99% seperate from feelings about the race. There are positive connotations to the color black too. It's my favorite.

Orfeus3000 3 months ago
I think Racism proceeds to be an issue in america because people tend to speak as a group instead of speaking as an individual. Of course other factors play a role in perpetuating racism, but i find more people have pride in something they have no control over such as race before having pride in an accomplishement of what they've built themselves to become. I am hispanic and have pride in my heritage, but i speak for myself not for my community and i take pride in excelling as an individual.
RamirezRoyalty 3 months ago
@RamirezRoyalty You're right! But MOST of the problem is not the fact that people try to speak for their community, it is that people group people together as a community based on the color of their skin and associated negativity. Ex: Because Black males are more likely commit violent crime, ALL Black males are at fault and it is Black people's responsibilty to do something. This mentality separates us as a people because we are faulting people for things they have no control over.

Jews only acknowledge the ashkenazi and sephardic jews, which resemble whites. Convert Jews are not recognized as true Jews. BTW, If Jews are the same race as whites then what was the holocaust all about?
pfctjd 3 months ago
@pfctjd Sorry to correct you once again. The Sephardic Jews are dark skin people who lived in Spain and northern Africa. The Ashkenazi Jews are from people who have no historical connection to the original Jews from the diaspora of ancient Israel. The Ashkanazi are descendant from the Khazar people in Europe, hence their white phenotype. The Ethiopian Jews are perhaps the closet to the original Jews in biblical times. Dark skin is the norm in a desert area and not blonde hair blue eye people.

pfctjd 3 months ago
@pfctjd How was I being ''rude''?
wovokanarchy 3 months ago
@wovokanarchy You are wrong Jewish is also a race, well I always see it that being Jewish sets you apart from being white at times because there are certain characteristics that define a person as Jewish as there are that define someone as black or any other race for that matter. You can't ALWAYS tell when someone is Jewish but sometimes you can distinguish it like you know when someone is Arab, Italian, Indian, etc.
andrika1990 3 months ago
@andrika1990 I go back to my original posting. How are Chinese, Ethiopian, Arab, Russian ,or East Indian Jews all the same ''race''? If I saw Alan Dershowitz, Jon Stewart, Joaquin Phoenix walking down the street I would just see white people.
wovokanarchy 3 months ago
@wovokanarchy I see your point but I don't see Israeli people as white and they are technically Jewish, Jews have been racially mixed with other cultures just like blacks. So their are alot of them with Europan lineage or whatever else. But I mean most people assume that being Muslim means you are Arab, which is not always the case. So being Jewish is not just about religious concept its also about ethnic background. You could call it a race AND a religion combined. But not just one or the other
andrika1990 3 months ago
@andrika1990 As far as I know the three I mentioned are American. I think what you are actually arguing is that you don't believe in an idea as ''race''. Which is fine, but I still wouldn't see a clear distinction between a white gentile walking down the street and a white Jew walking down the street. They would be considered generic white people or more specifically caucasion or European. I don't understand why it's so important that Jews be considered a ''race'' anyway. Why is that?
wovokanarchy 3 months ago
@wovokanarchy I always thought that it was made out to be a race by so much blatant hatred of it as a group of people. WWII is an example. I find it absurdly stupid to persecute a whole race of people based on their religion, don't get me wrong it can happen. However what was it that Hitler pointed out about Jews not being "racially" pure? (he wanted a distinct trait of blond hair/blue eyes.) Now where on earth would this come about if they weren't of a distinct ethnic background?
andrika1990 3 months ago
@andrika1990 There is no logic to antisemitism nor to a psychotic like Hitler. You might as well as try and figure out Ted Bundy or John Wayne Gacy's motives. Just because Nazi ideology believed Jews to be a race does not mean they are, right? Hell look at all the leadership of the Nazis they very well did not epitomize the idea of the master race. HItler was not blonde nor blue eyed, Himmler was a little twirp, Goebbels was an ugly fuck, Goering was an obese piece of shit, on and on.

alonaBAM 1 month ago
@alonaBAM To be honest I would not rely on a religious course to find information on race issues. I would take some sociology or anthropology courses instead.
wovokanarchy 1 month ago
@wovokanarchy Well, that depends. Jews are an ethno-religious group. Which combine aspects of religion and ethnicity. Similar to the Mandaeans or Yezidis in Iraq. Ashkenazi Jews are mostly of Western and Central European descent. While Sephardic and Mizrahi Jews are of Middle Eastern ancestry.
DarthVadent2 1 month ago
@DarthVadent2 What about the Ethopian, Chinese, East Indian, or Arab Jews? Are they all one ethnicity as you say? They all may worship the same but they certainly don't live, or look the same. I think you are probably saying that the only ''true'' Jews are the ones that come from Europe or the ones that matter.
wovokanarchy 1 month ago
@wovokanarchy I never stated that Jews were all one ethnicity, I was referring to specific types of Jews. I wasn't insinuating that the only "true" Jews were from Europe. As a matter of fact, if we're strictly addressing the genealogy of these communities. Then Mizrahi Jews and some Sephardi Jews are the most Middle Eastern.
While Ashkenazi Jews have significant European genetic signatures. The converts to Judaism, are just as Jewish regardless of their ancestral lineages.

That's how things are in America.
docdoom187 5 months ago
Because of the One Drop Rule (when it was officially in effect in the slave days, and in the modern days when the habit of using it was still thought to be necessary) African Americans are a very diverse group of people, which is why you have "black" people with DNA racial percentages of african, european, and native american, and skin tones and other features all over the map in varying degrees. Some "black" people might even be more white than black because of this but they don't even know it.
docdoom187 5 months ago

RayPointer 5 months ago
This show did not offer enough diversity in its presentation of mixed people. Also there is only one man, and he has a chip on his shoulder. These people are not as easily "passable" as whites as others I know of. I have very intimate knowledge of this matter.
RayPointer 5 months ago

Capping on Jews is not racist, they are an ethnic group not a race, still ain't right though.

Sadly in In 2011 the same racial issues are present.

I just ignore those few ignorant people
DistressedDamsel79 7 months ago

DistressedDamsel79 5 months ago

You only hurt yourself with racism, and please remember we all are from Africa, so really you're black too.
iamrachaelgrae 7 months ago 14
@iamrachaelgrae - I agree with you. We are divided enough already. Why make it worse by further trying to seperate. Some people try to say to me that I am denying my white father, because I refer to myself as just black. I say to them "Ask him about that and see what he thinks, because he completely understand and has no problems whatsoever. My father doesn't see it the way others wish he did."
americanpatriot00 7 months ago
@americanpatriot00, so you don't think you are denying him? i think mixed people are both. They are as equally one race as the other.
cumensu 6 months ago
@cumensu - ABSOLUTELY NOT! In fact, I agree with how my father put it. He said that American Blacks, a.k.a. African Americans are all of mixed race to some degree. None are 100% African anymore. Henry Louis Gates proved that If a DNA Geneology Test was given to every African American, a percentage of European blood would show, and in some small cases, Asian/Native American as well.
.
So to be African American means to be of mixed race ancestry.
americanpatriot00 6 months ago
@americanpatriot00
Well yeah, some of them are 100 percent African, like African or Haitian immigrants, and also there are some African Americans who are 100 percent African as well, such as Oprah. My father, who is from Jamaica, was the child of a black man with some white ancestry, and an Indian woman but he looks completely black. People often assume I'm Hispanic although some can tell I'm of African descent
gatheringleaves 5 months ago
@cumensu - .......The only reason some blacks like me are considered "mixed" is because our white relative is known. In my case it's my father.
americanpatriot00 6 months ago
@americanpatriot00, you are right. I agree with you and I did watch that documentary with Henry Louis Gates Jr. where he helped celebrities trace their roots and also where he eventually tried finding some of his white relatives. It was wonderful, I guess I believe that because you know that one your parents is black and the other is white, because you have proof before your eyes you should not choose one over the other. I don't see how people do that. If you are doing it for practical purpose,
cumensu 6 months ago
@americanpatriot00, cont. I understand but for any other reason, I don't. Are you the woman who is shown on your profile. If so, I assumed you were a man, interesting how we humans figure things huh?
cumensu 6 months ago
@iamrachaelgrae That's right. You are black no matter what.
CHNJ101 5 months ago
@iamrachaelgrae
If you are a "white looking" black woman than chances are you have alot of non black ancestry. Because if you were mostly black you would look like people do in Africa. So you are simply a biracial woman who identifies as black, although that's okay if you do, after all we should all be free to identify as we choose.
gatheringleaves 5 months ago
@gatheringleaves
I am black with mixed heritage.
iamrachaelgrae 5 months ago
@gatheringleaves genetics are a funny thing. my father is black, and I mean BLACK and I have white skin, green eyes and blonde hair. The colour of one's skin does not determine the ancestory in their DNA.
iamrachaelgrae 5 months ago
You are right, I am of mixed ancestory, but all African-Americans are! There is no AA who is 100% African. Back then I would have been a slave and thought of as a "talking animal" so why can't I be black when I'm in college, no children from wedlock, never depended on the government for anything? I am black if you like it or not.
iamrachaelgrae 5 months ago
@iamrachaelgrae Great statement. I'm glad to see someone else realize such things.

Watch me not give a flying shit.
trollworth 7 months ago
@trollworth - WRONG!
Watch ME not give a shit, not even a rat's ass.
americanpatriot00 7 months ago 3
@americanpatriot00 You fundamentally misunderstand the distinction between culture and genetics, and thus cannot understand race. And I do not like the panel because they are objectively annoying by any measure. There are tons of culturally black individuals who express themselves civilly and tons of white people who never will. Now moving back to the year 2011, the real irony here is that people like you are the main ones perpetuating racism, average Joe Whitey doesn't play those games anymore.
trollworth 7 months ago
@trollworth - LMAO!
What comic book you get your logic from.
americanpatriot00 7 months ago
@americanpatriot00 perhaps the ones I read while earning 2 post-graduate degrees; wby? Ad hominem circle-jerking aside, we HAVE seen a shift in "lived" US racism. You can claim that there is still structural racism against minorities, and I'm not denying that. But in day-to-day experiences and interactions, white people are increasingly being victimized. I know black folks who have been suspiciously pulled over, but I've stared down a barrel to shouts of "empty ur pockets whitey". Not just once.
trollworth 7 months ago
Racism needs to be redefined or used in a way; so when the people who use it, - know its actual meaning. You could say that the system now set-up- which all colors of people allow for now and allowed for back when- is the same one that pushes the USA now. Too singularly pursue it as being a one race issue to why things are the way they are, is to leave others away from what is a communal disease. Blacks on the panel become perennial victims to their environment using a monolithic
argument.
mamaschristmasbunny 7 months ago
This is from the eighties. No one is free in clear of what any environment they grow up or grew up in or continue to live in. To single out anything as like just a color issue, than people in general are missing the whole point of what history has shown. Slavery has been something that has been going on since the inception of man onto this earth. Blacks and certain other races have been on the receiving end of it- the past 400 years. In reality people have always tried to enslave
each other.
mamaschristmasbunny 7 months ago

Don't be afraid, all you will find is that you are more loving and courageous than you ever thought you were n you don't NEED anyone to confirm that or even agree with you on that.
nicool722 8 months ago
to all the people who wanna promote love amongst all races: your enemy is not the racist people, your enemy is you. you not letting yourself be able to love everyone, even racists. not to say that you will agree with them but that you will understand them. understand that they are simply ignorant and lack experience with other races. nothing wrong with them, simply misinformed people. personally i have compassion for them bcoz they cannot feel this immense love i feel for humanity. can you see?

@whyb3t - NEWS FLASH!
They were doing their own things. Don't get it twisted. Each one of them was well established in careers. They didn't seek out the show, the show sought out them. Furthermore, if you were to take a survey, you'll find that almost everybody (including you) probably have something worthy of being on the show to discuss (GOOD and BAD).
americanpatriot00 8 months ago
@americanpatriot00 every show in history seeks a story because of ratings. duh. the show sought after them because they did feel victimized and the confusion they felt during their childhood is evident in the anger. i'm not going to tell anybody to suck it up or whatever, but throughout the show i did not hear a single idea from either the audience nor them that would help them move forward. all i saw and heard was anger at the world they live in and the jobs they did focused on that anger.
