It's a 42 MTI with the race/pleasure hull. see the other video here for a better look at it. I know the low resolution on this old video doesn't help...
Where is this lake? My lake here in Texas is 24,000 acres and I ran my 24' boat 90-105 on it every weekend with no problems, but not in high-traffic areas.
Solutionsix thanks for the MTI vids, they are awesome boats. My dream is a 55 with turbines.
It's in Northwest Iowa and doesnt have quite the size, however, they also rarely take the boat up to speed either due to traffic and noise etc. Times like this when the traffic is low they will take it out and make a couple passes on the lake if possible.
They are also MTI fanatics. Very cool machines. I'll have more videos from the '08 Lake of the Ozarks championship as soon as I can get some time to convert them all.
Okoboji is perfect for opening boats up like this when it is not busy. Weekdays in the summer should be fine. It might not be a huge lake but it is close to 7 miles long. Not to mention the largest lake in Iowa is only around 3 miles away.
it is surprising to me what passes. A lot of boats with dumps on them pass. I like the quite ones. :-) it was much calmer this year. Think gas must have slowed it down.
I think you are right. And a lot of the boats roaming around definitely wouldnt pass. We actually bought a decibel meter to tune the exhaust down and we frequently check the levels of passing boats and yes, many dont pass :)
They are Loud! Try to have a relaxing day on the lake and have that thing go by! I remember when 21 footers used to big. Now they are small for the lake!! If the wind is right we can here the boats on the farm over by Terril.
Looks like a skater to me

Have heard that before, but definitely an MTI. It was a 2001 42 RP hull. It's since been traded off for a 40' race hull.

thos boats are too big for boji they piss me off..
Crezz33 3 years ago
Just curious, but why do they piss you off?
solutionsix 3 years ago
They have no respect for any other boaters? Maybe? Just a guess.
That is way to much boat for boji. It's to busy of a lake system to be running that kind of boat at those speeds.

Zshen let me guess; your bote has a mast and one sail.

I'm not sure what a bote is, however my boat is motor driven. Thank you for weighing in.
