I agree. There are definitely two generations of vloggers going on right now for sure. There's also this really weird vibe going on between the old schoolers and new schoolers despite everyone's claim of doing it to meet new people. Ironic.
Motovlogging started in the summer of 2006 on YT. Every year since then more riders join in. Most usually stick with it for about 1 or 2 seasons. M13 has been at it the longest i.e. for the past 5.
POV riding footage (without commentary) precedes YT by several years though & will probably always be found in tremendous abundance here on YT... as long as cams continue to get better, smaller & cheaper that is ;)
I still use my in helmet cam. Rebelyell actually did a old school vlog the other day. DJcipster4breaks still posts every now and then. I think the only old schoolers still around are the more popular ones. I think a lot of us are going through transitions school, work, families, etc... I think this is the reason the original super friends have been a bit off this year.
I guess I'm new school. I didn't know about vlogging till after I decided to save for a sportbike. Just got a VIO POV HD as my first cam. Can't wait to test it out!
I guess I'm old school. I started in late 2007.When I started there were only about 10 or 15 people doing it. I stopped for a while and when I came back there were around 50 people doing it. Now I've lost count.
I still put my camera in my helmet but I'm looking for a new setup.
