You can't just become gay because you were not born straight. To link being feminine to being gay is just closed-minded and completely irrelevant.

Science is merely theories developed by people to try and describe the phenomena we observe. The human genome is not even completely understood to this day. People do not switch their sexualities; They are discovering who they are. Sexual orientation is not as black and white are you may think it is.

@lgbtqgardian I'm all for gay marriage too, but what you're saying isn't entirely accurate. I agree that gay marriage has benefits, but to say that there is no sexual assault or domestic abuse in same sex relationships is not true at all. Also there are a of gay and lesbian couples who choose to either have adoptive or biological child, even though it is a choice, children can be a burden to them too

Gay people have been killed because they were gay. It is still illegal to be gay in parts of the world. People HAVE been jailed for being gay. Gays are segregated in society. They cannot donate blood, they cannot be leaders of some organizations and in 29 states it is legal to fire someone for being gay.

Actually, I've been called less than human for being a lesbian by a black person which stunned me, since I'm black. I've been kicked out of bathrooms cuz apparently i'm a perv. I'm not even allowed in some stores because I'm gay and the cops won't do anything about it because the owners have a right to choose what they want for their store. I think it's disgusting to use religion as a reason to hate gay people. My cousin is a 100% active christian, but her best friend is 100% lesbian. She didn't care how much my aunt said it was wrong, that was her best friend, and she was always there for her. My cousin is an amazing, loving girl. And she didn't let her religion get in the way of being a friend. I wish the world could love everyone the way my cousin does.

The cycle of poverty rooted in black social problems is directly linked to the self loathing discrimination that many blacks perpetuate in their own communities against gays. Were lucky to live in a time when education is available to even the poorest blacks (and whites). Education is the solution.
Are you to say that the millions of homosexual people who were forced into Nazi concentration camps because of their sexuality didn't suffer as much as enslaved african-americans in the US did? People are still murdered in the US for being gay. Obviously, homosexuality is easier to hide than race, which makes systematic repression of gay people more difficult. But any movement aiming to grant a minority the same rights as the majority IS a civil rights movement.

Science is merely theories developed by people to try and describe the phenomena we observe. The human genome is not even completely understood to this day. I agree that gay marriage has benefits, but to say that there is no sexual assault or domestic abuse in same sex relationships is not true at all. Also there are a of gay and lesbian couples who choose to either have adoptive or biological child, even though it is a choice, children can be a burden to them too

Gay people have been killed because they were gay. It is still illegal to be gay in parts of the world. People HAVE been jailed for being gay. Gays are segregated in society. They cannot donate blood, they cannot be leaders of some organizations and in 29 states it is legal to fire someone for being gay.

Lets be a little more specific......uneducated, poverty level black people voted yes on Prop 8. Well rounded, educated, successful black people voted no.
Recognizing that there is no difference between the brand of irrational discrimination leveled at blacks and gays hardly makes gays anti-black. It just means they passed a rational thinking course in college.

Okay as a black lesbian, this is just hurtful. I can spout all the facts about gay pedophiles too. The reason the black crime rate is so high is because it's hard to dig yourself out of a rut. It's not that we are genetically engineered that way, we just had a poor start. When racism was banned we didn't get equality, we were moved to slums and ghetto's and not even allowed the same facilities. How the heck do you get out of that?

The cycle of poverty rooted in black social problems is directly linked to the self loathing discrimination that many blacks perpetuate in their own communities against gays. Were lucky to live in a time when education is available to even the poorest blacks (and whites). Education is the solution.

People are still murdered in the US for being gay. Obviously, homosexuality is easier to hide than race, which makes systematic repression of gay people more difficult. But any movement aiming to grant a minority the same rights as the majority IS a civil rights movement.
