  • I'm 27 and this still happens. Sometimes it's funny other times scary

  • ive had one once i woke up screaming and sweating i cant remember the dream but i know what it was about, when i woke up i was screaming it took a 5 or so minutes for me to realize i wasnt dreaming. What stuck with me the most was the undesirable fear, waking up sweating and the dream playing out while your awake. i always hated trying to fall asleep bec i would dream but after that night it was especially hard to even think of sleep itself

  • My brother had these until he was 12 years old, these are not fully understood by any doctor, or anyone in the field.

  • The problem may be spitirual...children are more susceptible to energys and spirits... more prayers and the "Gospel on the Home" should help..

  • I had night terror when I was 3 to 5... I mostly had nights where I saw myself going out of my body and roaming the streets. Then I see a man with cross in his hand in the distance and the man turned the cross into a creepy clown doll and it chased me. Present days I don't even remember any dreams nor do I have night terrors. :)

  • I am 33 y.o. and have had these episodes since I was a child. I have no recollection of those, but since my 20's have been experiencing sudden and violent awakenings which I have complete memory of. I am frightened and confused.

I wake up with no idea where or who I am but know that the sensation is 'not right'. I feel 'displaced', as if I were outside my head. I am mobile and, in two instances, violent. The episode can last for 5-10 min. as my sense returns and I remember my life.

  • @PopeRocket

im 20 and i sometimes have the same experience

i had these terrors as a child, but i always remembered them

but now, if the terror doesnt involve damaged furniture, its ok

  • If you remember and see, hear, and feel shadows/creatures and your fully awake but your paralyzed then it's call Sleep Paralysis......see my video, "how not to be afraid of sleep paralysis"

  • I had one last night 0.0 I opened my eyes and i couldnt move and my heart was pounding really super fast

    IM SCARED :(

  • @Jillz500 thats actually not a night terror thats sleep paralysis

  • Demons.

  • My daughter has had night terrors since 2 months old. My pediatrician said it was colic. I knew it wasn't colic, but as a new mom, I questioned myself. My baby is now 14 mo & had a horrible night terror tonight. She seems as is some1 is chasing her in her dream. Her eyes are wide open yet she doesn't see me or her surroundings. I pray this stops & that this is no indicator of mental illness

  • @lusciousfox It is not mental illness. Studies have proven that there is no correlation between night terrors and mental illness. Besides, I am living proof. I'm 22 and every now and then, if I'm overtired and under lots of stress between studying and work and my social life, etc. I will experience a night terror. Although it's more common in children, adults can experience it too. I usually feel like I am being choked and my eyes are open, yet I can't move at all. I feel like I am trapped.

  • @spiderwebs7215 in my case its quite different, i wake up screaming at the top of my lungs (usually multiple short burst of screams) sometimes im throwing my blankets off to get at some sort of deadly threat in my sleeping bag (a scorpion, a spider, a snake, or just something i dont even remember what) sometimes i run to the other side of the room and throw on the lights, once i ran down the stairs (well...fell down the stairs) and ran out to my living room which had quite a few people, naked...

  • I shouldn't watch this at night

  • @cockwiper night-terrors are caused by lack of knowing who the true Father is. I had them for 24 years.

Believe or not, there is a lot to this material world than what people think. We're not alone. Religious or not.

Ask Jesus for protection & see what happens. Oneday, he'll get tired of it & doctors ain't gonna help. It's been 2 years for me & I sleep in peace.

  • can it kill them? because my boyfriends has constant night terrors, and he's 18. and Im absolutley terrified of losing him to these night terrors. please help.

  • Take it from me, I have suffered NT's all my life, Wake them up! Do Not just stand there & let it happen. Everyone in my family knows to stand back away from me & repeatedly call my name until I am awake enough to say "I'm awake". When awoken during a NT it takes a moment for the NT to fade & I will remember a small portion, if Not awoken I don't even know it happened. I have injured myself & others during an attack. I have been awoken by my own screams. Dr.'s don't know how to treat NT's

  • god, this is the type of stuff found in movies like the exorcist

  • Interesting

  • i've run into this twice while babysitting. it's terrifying.

  • 46 years ago my parents had this experience with me. while my mother held me, trying to console me, I spied my reflection in the mirror. I immediately came to full consciousness and quickly fell back to sleep. for each successive event, my parents placed a mirror at a safe distance from me and waited for me to recognize my reflection. it worked each time without intrusive methods. I stopped having the episodes within a month of the interventions.

  • Parents should pray over their children nightly..Not knowing Jesus, and/or parents having little spiritual knowledge of spiritual warfare, often open their children to these night terrors. Parents should seek wisdom in protecting their children from evil influence. The devil rules the night until you protect your loved ones with the armor of knowing Jesus! My 5 yr old grand daughter woke up and said, she kept seeing scary faces when she closed her eyes. That was remedied with a prayer to Jesus!

  • i usually get night terrors when i get really depressed and stressed out.... i have ptsd.... and wake up at times 3-4 times a night... it sucks! i am an adult and have been getting them since i was a lil kid. i dont know where to get help? i went to several doctors and nothing has helped. these tips really do not help, sorry.

  • i have a three year old son jordan. a week ago he started crying in the middle of the night. when i tried to console him he sat up and started saying i want my daddy. it really scared the crap out of me , my hands were shaking i litteraly wanted to cry for the kid. he was looking at me saying he wanted me he was petrified. he was grabbing his crotch so i took him to the bathroom. he wet himself standing there and snapped out of it. i think the wetness woke him.

  • Is there any other information you can tell me about Night Terrors? I'm doing a report on them and I was just looking for more info. and anything else that I could find on them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
