Theme Airports are fantastic for a countries Tourism Industry, as in this case "wild life in the southern Sri Lanka" ... a similar airport with the cultural themes of our ancient cities closer to the North and East should also be considered so that visitors interested in cultural sites can go straight to Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa etc in those parts of the country ... Sri Lanka is now racing ahead after years of war .. now probably one of the safest places on the planet now .. "its just paradise"

Seems to like a "fast track" project which will cause lot of design integrities. This is more like a fancy airport rather than a int'l airport. The productiveness of this idea does not make sense at all. How come an airport in far way place will benefit the country's economy?. The main commercial cities were located far away from here and Hamabantota Lacks natural resources in order to maintain the airport functions. I think this will eat up more money rather than benefiting citizens of SL.

One area was destroyed to build an airport now another in the arid Hambantota, also the dug in harbor will bring salt waters couple of kilometers inland, what ecological impact will all this have on Hambantota? Has any attention been made to this aspect of development>>>

well MR watching your themed airport presentation....... I noticed it is green getting to the airport where is the water coming from Hambantota avg's just over 800 mm of rainfall per year.........stop destroying the natural areas we already have!! You need to give leadership to protecting our natural fauna and flora or it will be gone under your watch!!!
