  • Interesting use of Eric Sykes.

  • Very sad to see this, obviously taught the ending came too soon, the world needed more Meldrew

  • Death has clearly not mellowed out old Mr Meldrew it would seem...

  • There's a real flaw in this as much as I love the programme - the false arm and the newspaper would be floating!

  • Victor Meldrew screaming "you bastards" out the window is the funniest thing I've ever seen on tv. R.I.P. Victor- the most sensitive man who ever lived.

  • it must be hard for Margaret/Annette, not to look at Victor/Richard because she is so used to having a conversation/argument with him, i wouldn't have been able to manage it :)

  • i'd never seen this before, great vid

  • Like how accurate victors horoscope was as he really has "disappeared" thats one thing he didn't see coming LOL

  • fabulous!

  • Sixth sense, i saw the end of that coming a mile away lol

  • Took me until the very end to realise Victr wasn't 'there' so to speak, because frequently in the show Victor and Margaret would have conversations without answering the others' questions, Like one-sided.

  • How many comic reliefs of One foot in the grave are there? Were they ever brought out on DVD? As the complete box set I have does not include these....

  • @jackntheball There was 2 one from 1993 (which is on here) and this 1 , sadly they never made it to DVD,dont know why,my guess is something to do with the copywrites.maybe one day when the DVDs are re-released they will be on there.

  • I hate laughter tracks, they always attempt make things seem funnier than they really are. Most jokes in sit coms are not laugh out loud funny.

  • very well done, just didnt see that end coming

  • This should have been added on the collectors box set

  • Never seen this comic relief special before, very well made when you remember he was killed off and this event happened afterwards.

  • Haha the sixth sence ending maybe I'm dead? Love it.

  • What an ending!!!!

  • They shouldnt have killed off Victor Meldrew in the sitcom right enough it would have still been as funny in the years 2000 till 2010 or even for the years to come it was a brilliant sitcom series:)

  • Fantastic line-"Like lenin's tomb with Dettol"

  • very good idea :) victor can return as a ghost for specials look a so haunt me that was a few series based on this idea

  • Even in the afterlife victor still moans.

  • Loved the sly digs at TV ratings and Who Wants To Be A Millionaire.

  • i think you should never kill off a main charicter in a sitcom like that because thay could bring him back in years to come ''

  • @iwata25 Thats exactly why they killed him off, the writer said that he was running out of ideas, and wanted to end it while the show was still popular

  • aww sad

  • "Chilly down my right side!" - good reference to her sitting next the Victor's ghost...Well written

  • That was really clever!

  • So this was after they killed him off? Very good! And quite poignant.

  • This was very well done, but i'm sure they could have ended the series better than killing victor off :(

  • Apparently, David Renwick just couldn't think of anymore plots, so he killed Victor off.

  • A very sad minisode poor victor and margret it must be hard for the 2 too play those parts again bet they missed each other as profesionals of course just like the sith sense well written

  • @cottonwhiskersuk Ain't you seen 'Ghost' then?

  • O.o That's really well played out! I had no idea Margaret wasn't talking to Victor until the end! Really well done!

  • Wow! Havent seen this before! Wow! Great!

  • it's a vhs cassette not a dvd disc

  • Aww thats so sweet

Remember when we were watching Kilroy the other day...

  • Ah, i'm glad they brought victor back for one last show :)

  • Never seen this before, thanks for posting.

  • Aww that was sad

  • Its nice to know Meldrew is alive in one form or another.

  • that was a shock at the end,i had to watch it a second time! but how come margaret does'nt see victor picking up the arm? she should of seen it, and the tape at the end!

  • so is victor a ghost in this episode then?

  • yes he is a ghost thats why she never spoke to him and the dvd fitted in thats why he looked glum at the end because he relised he was dead

  • I'd never seen this before. It was so clever, so funny & so sad.

  • i love how it ended, and the relevance to the DVD. Very clever, and also what the prediction of the stars.

  • Why couldn't they include this on the dvd?

  • I don't believe it, Many Thanks All...quality post..orgasmo144...

  • I heard they were going to kill off Michael Burk --to get the bbc news figures up. Right at the end of the month apparently. In a horrific autocue accident.

    LOVE IT!

  • Brilliant just Brilliant

  • This is the whole thing it was just a short sketch.

Thanx for posting I loved this when it was on and have never seen it again since.

  • It's incomplete!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh bugger, I was enjoying that.....how does it end?

  • It's not complete that's just the way it ended, being Comic Relief sketches only last 5-15 minutes. And that clip was set after Victor's death.
