  • Where can u get a squirrel?

  • i just got a baby squirrel and im so lost on what to do =( ahh its so cute tho

  • 5 people have no souls and are headed to a firey doom

  • Squirrel: im SOOOOOOOOOOOO thirsty XD

  • is there any way you can potty train them? i want to get one but i don't want a huge mess..

  • and fed him water from and eyedropper. I have him a peeled grape to nibble on while i found a squirrel sanctuary. I couldn't find one, and, unfortunately, lucky the squirrel died the next day :'(

  • Once i was walking to school, and i thought i almost stepped on a dead rat so i ran the rest of the way. on the way home from school i saw what i almost stepped on, and it was a baby squirrel! It was still moving, well and alive even after being chewed on by flies and who-knows-what. I put on gloves and brought him home, put him in a box and walked him to the vet. unfortunately, noone in my neighbourhood knew anything about squirrels, so i put him in the garage and covered him with blanket

  • too bad u can't have a squirrel in New york state

  • Why you givin him drugs?

  • Chug! Chug! Chug! Chug!

  • take it easy or you gonna drunk him

  • @laurenaintborin9 Awesome, thanks a lot :)

  • @ditoh2 No problemo!

  • i have a southern flying squirrel, its about 2 years old. but its claws get caught in everything and its hurting my pet, does anyone else have this problem with there pets??

  • @cdaly101 You can purchase a nail trimming insert for a wodent wheel exercise wheel from the internet. Just Google search "wodent wheel nail trimmer" and it'll come up. You will need to buy one of their wheels to use it though (it's basically just an insert made of sandpaper, but there really aren't many other options for super-small pets like SFS since you can't trim their nails with clippers or anything).

  • @cdaly101 I also recommend the Stealth Wheel by Atticworx which has a nail trimming attachment. My flyers pulled the trimming attachment right off their Wodent Wheel, though it's a great wheel too.

  • @cdaly101 I have the SAME PROBLEM with my squirrel. He used to be very active but now his very slow and doesnt want to leave his cage.... I am gonna try the wheel with sand paper thing. Have you had any luck trimming his nails?

  • Check out this site for nutrition info - the hair loss thing is covered.:

    users.hal-pc.org/~jbsum/squirrel.html

  • What are you feeding him? I have a baby squirrell, but I'm not sure what to give her.

  • @ditoh2 At this age, I was feeding him a high-quality puppy formula since it is the closest thing to the mother's milk that can be purchased. You can buy it in powdered form and it just mixes with water. For feeding, you should get a newborn kitten or puppy feeding syrringe, or a children's medicine dropper.

  • @ditoh2 The best possible formula for a baby squirrel (flying or otherwise) is made by Fox Valley Nutrition. It's important to use Fox Valley because it's formulated just for squirrels and puppy formula can make a baby squirrel very sick. I highly recommend your visiting The Squirrel Board to learn more about how to care for your little one.

  • Lucky, I wanted one of those :d

  • ther called suger glider

  • @RhondaBunny No. Google / Youtube search a sugar glider and you'll be able to tell the difference. They are only similar in size, really.

  • It's a Romulan! Cute!

  • I raised a flying squirrel and his name was ittybit. He lived 12 years in captivity... He was my buddy and I carried him everywhere... He would glide down to me from a high shelf and land on my shoulder. I really loved him but as I grew in to a teenager he sort of took a back seat... I felt guilty now as I look back but I was 10 years old when he showed up in our basement... We did find him a female mate but I'm not sure he was happy about that...still think of him 50 years later.

  • @cdmthomas they dont like females? i wanted to get mine a female cuz im barely there to take care of him, but my bf plays with him all the time. i feel like my squirrel is depressed :( hes shedding fur idk if thats normal. hes only like 1 year and some.

  • how old is yours. we have four that are two weeks old. when did this one open his eyes

  • @TheRaidersafety20 When I picked him up from the breeder his eyes were already open, but flying squirrels generally open their eyes at about 4 weeks

  • Our baby is not doing well, we found him in the yard. What do you feed the babies?

  • @candy1234111 one part esbilac, one part heavy cream (NOT MILK), one part water, from a syring. heat it up by putting a little shot lass of it in hot water

    hurry tho, they need calcium!!!

  • We raised one a while back. She fell out of her nest after a hurricane, and our dogs snuffled her out of the grass. She didn't even have her eyes open. I carried her with me at school in a fanny pack so I could feed her regularly. :)

  • THATS SOOO CUTE :D

  • I just got one and it was just dieing on my porch so I took it in

  • awwww!

thats the most precious lil thing♪

  • where do u ppl get these animals? first ducks...then squirrels...and then bush babies [not that it's bad but i'd never have imagined them as pets]

  • @XxAmyDeviliciousxX - LOL, well you might find my little bat kind of odd then :) We have a bat house that we built and put up under our soffits. It's usually filled up with bachelors every spring, except this time there was an adorable baby that dropped out and plopped onto our steps. Me being me, the rest is history...........

  • do you think about set him free, when he gets back strong, and grown up? might be the best way i think for the animal, isnt it? - otherwise very cute video

  • Where do you get a flying squirrel?

  • awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

  • dont mean to sound ignorant but whats the dif between a sugar glider and a flying

    squirrel?

  • @amandatwilight20 Flying squirrels are born like any other mammal, sugar gliders are born outside their mother like a kangaroo (they are marsupials). They also have a lot of differences in appearance. Do a google search and you will be able to see the differences when they are pictured side by side.

  • @amandatwilight20 there isnt a difference.

  • @amandatwilight20 who cares their both f@$#&in cute

  • U should turn off the lights for them. Because I had flying squirrels at my house and they only came one year that it during the winter at night time. Because flying squirrels are nocturnal. U can train him to be in the dark like a real flying squirrel.

  • dawwww I want one!!! I love unusual pets!!

  • @mysticwindfairy not so very unusual actually :P

  • I bet they get to be real hand full as adults. Super cute though. Would make a very interesting pet.

  • if you still have it tell it i said hi

  • Is it difficult dealing with flying squirrels as they have claws? I've research regular squirrels as pets and as they get older they can accidentally draw blood as they climb on you. Do flying squirrels have similar issues?

How long can you keep them as pets?

  • could it fly

  • IT'S SO CUTE I'M GUNNA DIE!!!!!

  • I'm sure plenty of people prolly asked this before, but why would you have a flying squirrel?

  • @Csp499 Why not?

  • @laurenaintborin9 Does he fly in the house? Or does he have to see others doing it?

  • @laurenaintborin9 hey im just corious do you need a special permit to in order to have a squirrel :) and what state do you live :)

  • @laurenaintborin9 i used to have a flying squirrel for six or seven years ... my dad rescued her for me and we named her Ariel...sadly she died in 2009... she will always be missed.

    R.I.P. Ariel 2003-2009

    love you forever

  • it´s marsupial, isn´t it? Maybe Petaurus breviceps?

  • @kuraslepice No, they are not marsupials. Glaucomys volans

  • @laurenaintborin9 because they are wild animals and should stay wild...

  • @Csp499 squirrels are awesome baby flying squirrels make great pets soo yeah

  • :0) I actually had the honor of taking care of mine because my Dad worked for a telephone company for almost 30 years. They would make nests inside of the big white boxes that you sometimes see attached to a telephone pole. Once a human touched (or even exposed) the nest, the mother would not come back for them. He brought ours home, because they were recommended to be "destroyed" at the time. We nursed them too with a syringe, just like in the vid! Funniest (and fun) pet I've ever had!

  • @Csp499 It's a squirrel.. AND IT FLIES!!! Who the fuck wouldn't want one? :)

  • @Csp499 I guess the same could be said about children....

but really, A flying squirrel is a tiny personality wrapped in super soft fur. They bond with their owners like dogs, They will actually reach a little hand through the wires of his cage to try and be with you. It's beyond cute. And with a 10 year or so life span, they make lasting companions.

    OH YE wait...

  • oh its cute when squirrels having skin flaps they use to fly...

  • where are these guys from?and are they marsupials?

are they as popular a pet as sugar gliders?and what are the differences?

  • @bulletproof2353

its a southern flying squirrel (not the same as a sugar glider), southern flying squirrels are rodents native to southern United States. Sugar gliders are marsupials native to the rain forests of Australia, Indonesia, and New Guinea. Southern flying squirrels are now starting to become more popular in the home and bond well to their owners.

  • WHERE DO YOU GET ONE?!

  • @SirMichou22

there are a few places on the internet you can find them, just type in southern flying squirrels for sale and you should get a few pages that have them near where you live. (most places will not ship them to you so you have to go to them and buy them there) The two southern flying squirrels that I got were both from the wild, one fell out of a tree when he was young Jan. 1, 2004 and lived about 7 years, the one I have now is about 6 months old and I got him when he was a pup.
