  • this pack seems tuffer but looks like cheap backpack. Only big pockets and not good organization, i think the maxpedition condor its better option

  • @losteden well atleast spec ops never tried to ruin the reputation of strider knives and tried to shut down forums for bad reviews

  • @50TNCSA it was the work of maxpedition? never heard of. well I know that the material is made in Taiwan, but Chinese workers are not to blame, but the bosses who only want money and the rest can go fuck. spec ops does not seem bad. but should have a smaller bag around with 20 liters and have more storage. simply because the pack has only space, lack of room for smaller things. thanks

  • @7onathan1 b4 you spen you money on a company that take legal actions against forums for talking about bad customer services go to amazon or optics planet and you can get it for around 130 t0 170 dollars unless its in multicam then its extra

    LONG LIVE THE REPUBLIC

  • HELLO MY NEW 72 hour bag

  • I read someone online say that they heard that these Spec-Ops T.H.E. packs are getting an update. But he didn't say what the updates were going to be...

Did you hear anything at SHOT?

  • hey man, great review

do you think the pack is big enough to fit a sleeping bag and other camping/backpacking stuff in it?

  • I have a pack that's almost exactly like this, the only difference that I can tell is that mine is Red Rock outdoor gear. I found that kinda funny.

  • @March94Hare

How do you like your Red Rock pack i bought one a while back and stuffed a couple things in it but haven't taken in camping or any place else yet. Does it hold up pretty well? Mine was 45 dollars.

  • @ele21ification Truthfully, I hate it now. When I bought it I thought it was amazing. I going take the stuff off my tac vest and put them on it. and now it sucks. The mesh pouch inside the main compartment the top ripped out, The shoulder straps are ripping out. And I mean, I don't put a ton of stuff but I have a decent amount.. Laptop, rip off first aid bag(I'm a firefighter) Admin pouch, Utility pouch for a rain coat and gloves. Normal stuff. But over all I'm saving up for a 511 pack.

  • i have the green

  • 50 cents for a plastic bag from lidls...sorted.

  • IS IT WATERPROOF ?

  • @xBearGrylls

sure, as much as any nylon bag

  • I'm not a huge fan of Spec-Ops gear, but their website has the tri-color desert (DCU) camo T.H.E. pack on clearance for $99. Just a heads up for you all.

  • @jh151399

thaks for the heads up, IMO thats a great deal for the quality of these packs

  • I think it was a good video. Spec-Ops makes GREAT gear. I have personally used Spec-ops gear in combat. If I had my way ALL my gear would be From them. I have tried other companies products, as you can see on my channel, and, well, you get what you pay for. This will be my next bag. Along with Spec-Ops Rat Pack.

Thanks for the great video, keep it up.

  • not going to get into the specifics so some one can copy it...Dont you think they would buy this to copy it if they wanted ......What ever

  • 5.11

  • This, in my opinion, is an example of a big problem with our made in the U.S.A. products. They may be made with a little higher quality in materials and craftsmanship. There may be a little more thought in the construction...but at the end of the day when you can go get a "tactical" $30 Jansport type pack and have money left for 2 Kabars the difference just isn't enough to make people buy this thing usually.

  • @bigguns1233

ya, why do so many people think they know quality gear? just because your other pack has zippers and all the pockets doesnt mean that its the same quality. im sure you can shop around and find a smokin deal. but if you pay attention he talks about how the pockets are not only meant to hold things, but they make it user friendly by making it easy to see into it, better zippers, the list goes on and on. you dont like it buy something else, but this is still better.uget what u pay for

  • I don't know how much it costs but My Camelbak Motherlode is clearly way way way better, in so many ways I won't bother to list ... The SpecOps has flimsy straps and belt with less than half the padding and no molded venting, just for starters ... I can see over 20 features that the Spec-Ops is missing ... Lame ! Anything over $38 and you are getting ripped off ... A cheap and flimsy build which must be targeted at noobs with no clue ... Motherlode or BFM are 1000% better ! (in every way)

  • @phrankus2009 dude, i looked at your chan, ya i wouldnt take your opinion on something i dont even know you own.it doesnt look like you own anything at all related to this sort of gear. put a vid up of it. unless you just like to go around talkin crap in the comments like all the other idiots. it makes you look foolish when you talk but dont back up what you say with a good video demonstration.

  • @humboldtgunguy

Dude ! All my gear is Contract MilSpec (or better) ...

I own a Camelbak BFM, A Camelbak Motherlode, A Maxpedition Sabercat, and Moras, Beckers, Ontarios, etc.

Camelbak is the best and the Maxpedition is almost as good (Tho a bit pricey).

Anyone with two brain-cells and 20/40 vision can easily see the difference. COMPARE !

There is a very good reason why the Camelbak and Maxpeditions weigh 2x as much ... Durability 1

This "Spec Ops" POS has thin straps, fabric, padding ..

  • will a shotgun scabbard fit nice on the side? if not does anyone know of a good pack that will?

  • Any help?, Maxpedition or spec-ops?

  • @cLaX1227

Maxpedition make some nice gear, but I would take this pack over any Max gear...

  • cool.. in my country i just pay 30 euros for this bag...

  • @bigguns1233 What the hell does an Officer at Ft. Hood have anything to do with anything we talked about so far??? Lad? Now you're Irish... So far you have made less sense than a frog with tits... IDF troops sew their own gear LMFAO! I bet you are the best sewer in the whole fucking battalion. Thanks man, every time I see an Isreali tank I'm going to picture four guys inside sewing their asses off LMFAO! Fucking Jews are awsome!!! Sew like the wind my IDF bretheren!

  • @bigguns1233 Civi life and active duty are two different things??? Well no shit captain obvious! How the hell would you know how much 200 dollars is anyway Mr IDF? Spec Ops has been sold at military stores for years. Got all mine at Ft. Hood in 04. You say it's crap because it was made by civilians? Guess what, God didn't make your shit. Civilians did... You talk like you are 14 maybe 15? Come clean Son... IDF? really? You are out there every day patrolling? Then Youtube right?

  • @bigguns1233 I carried a spec ops holster, ruck, and several ammo pouches in Iraq. The only complaint I had was the velcro on the ammo pouches was not the greatest. It stood the test of battle and I still use them daily at my civilian job(not the leg holster). OIFIII 04-05 Alasad, TQ, Ramadi. If the pack is not a good size for you, then try a different size. There isnt room in the hmmv for four packs that size and the gear you need for patrols anyway. You don't make sense

  • @bigguns1233 Obviously you are not a military man. Spec Ops IS quality battle rattle. If you want walmart gear then by all means. In the mean time, grab a controller and STFU son...

  • @railroadtrash09

Heard that... I owned a M.O.U.T. rig that was used in Afganistan.. I washed the sucker and it was like new.. SPEC-OPs make the best in durable afordable gear you'd be hard pressed to find anywhere else.. All the shit talkers, please... Get back to that controller now....

  • $40 can get you a voodoo tactical and its pretty much the same bag

  • @killerbob03

except it is made in China, not the US..

  • @GearBuyersGuide the bosses are bastards, they transfer their businesses to China to make more money. this is an issue increasingly administrators cheap labor / more money. some things madein china are good for the price. to pay 40 for a bag and last three years is good, anyway I'm not use to do the same bag for more than 3 or 5 years

  • another COD wanna be

  • @pcortes1987

yawn.. another comment from a "Daddy Yankee Ft Prince Royce - Ven Conmigo " wanna be

  • @GearBuyersGuide im surprised hes not interested in it because it looks durable enough even for the coyotes that lead people into the dessert

  • @pcortes1987

cod is nothing like this. this is real life kid.

  • Shoulder straps angle looks to pinch the neck?

  • I have one T.H.E. in black for two Weeks now. And thats by far the best Pack I ever had. High Quality, very comfortable! I use fit or Outdoor and EDC. Excellent Pack! I have also the Rat Pack and some other Pouches. These also very great.

  • My brother was a U.S. Marine too and did not bring home his actual bag he used, but he did buy another one in Iraq. (He racked up so much money from poker there that apearently he was ordered to guy buy stuff otherwise it would be a huge hassle transfering the money back to the states.) anyways though, this pack, just from I can look at when we hang out IS AWESOME. If I had the money I would buy something like this in a second.

  • mine was 60 bucks at shorty USA

  • mine was 60 bucks

    no joke

  • thx for this great video I´m thinking on getting a new pack and this one looks like a great piece of kit - maybe I´ll get one!

    ATB from Austria

    Mike

  • mmmm THC

  • @bigguns1233

LOL, you have no idea what you are saying.. this pack is great, I own one and use it.. you see a picture and talk like if you are an expert.. what a joke

  • @GearBuyersGuide He does have a point about the price... but then again... im tempted to buy it just because this is The pack we had in basicXD

  • @GearBuyersGuide Ditto that. I have two of these and they are by far and away, the best pacl of their type on the market. They are made in the U.S.A., and they are virtually indestructable. The zippers are much larger than on other packs of similar design and the material is much thicker. They have a pack frame insert you can get with metal stiffeners, too. This pack allows one to carry a great deal more than the video may suggest. fitted with a variety of pouches, it is a very capable pack.

  • @hf47hg4wjg89aw

Well I have big feet / boots.. I was refering to my hiking boots which do need to bend a bit to cram in there, but they do fit

  • i saw this on cheaper than dirt and was wondering if its worth the $180

  • @superassassin47

    I think so

  • @superassassin47 I think Maxpedition backpacks are more worthy than this, construction wise. Both Spec-op and Camelbak do not have the strap that runs from the front all the way over on shoulder straps, Maxpedition ones have and that add a lot of durability to the pack.

  • @nemesiscavalry I think Maxpedition has well intended designs, but their build quality is terrible compared to the T.H.E. and other Spec-Ops equipment. Maxpedition's Tac-Ties stink on ice, and their threading comes apart.

The T.H.E. is built like a tank. We go through a lot of equipment and have tried about all that is out there and BDS Tactical, Spec-Ops and some TAG gear has proven to be the best.

  • Is this good for a 3 day pack?

  • @20GATE91

    sure

  • i like my ILBE Assault pack better, but thats just me

  • @MurderedByMidgets, you can get it at Amazon for $150, free shipping, and I bet is even cheaper at AFEES.

I doubt you can make a pack in the USA with this quality for under a dollar. This is not Burger King or Cheap-China-made. It's a lifetime guaranteed piece of tactical equipment made in the USA. I have one and I love it, worth every penny I paid.

  • This exact pack is on sale at LAPoliceGear for $30. It's a great pack, but completely ridiculous that anyone would try and sell this for $200.

  • @xjtbarnesx

$30 for a Spec-Ops brand pack, or some made in china rip off?

  • @GearBuyersGuide what is halls webbing for?

  • @sum41Rck

To attach pouches, and other gear using 1" nylon strap

  • @GearBuyersGuide aahh i see, thank you (:

  • @xjtbarnesx the one you are talking about looks almost identical, but it's made by LAPoliceGear. Maybe it's good, maybe it isn't.

  • you are not giving away design secrets. you are reviewing... if womeone wants to "steal" design secrets they will... show everything...

  • Two hundred dollars for a backpack thing?

  • @ThinkElna

Sure, I've heard of people paying $200 for shoes.. this is much more practical IMO

  • I carried one in Coyote Tan in Iraq and another one in ACU state-side. Great pack. By itself it has less room than a medium ALICE, but you can lash, tie or add MOLLE pouches to more than make up.

  • the yellow lining is an eyesore

  • @shylildude

    you obviously don't do much

  • @GearBuyersGuide im allergic to the sun, so to me its an eyesore too lol

  • @shylildude: Yeah, it's a bit out-of-place, but makes it lots easier to see shit in the pack in very low light. It's sort of a back-lighting.

  • @shylildude

It's high-vis contrast so you can better find your shit...

  • The ACU version cost $135 at the PX at Ft. Irwin, CA.

  • no way its the Gun website guy!!!!!!! btw i dont think spec ops would use a flash light cuse of natual NV but thats just a thought idk

  • @Jackomason

    This is our other channel

No one does or doesn't do anything ALL the time..

  • @GearBuyersGuide well i was watching top sniper 2 and they said it takes 40 min for NV to come back that's why they take a brake when the sun gos down and a lot can happen in 40 minutes

  • no way its the Gun website guy!!!!!!!

  • You think it could hold a sleeping bag?

  • @Coldsteel27

not inside, unless thats all you had

It would strap under it for sure, or on top

  • Just bought the same pack made by Spec-Ops at a local Army surplus store for $55.00 (used but great shape). Stoked to see that it was a good buy. Looks and feels to be a good pack. Mine will be a day or maybe up to two night pack. Too bad sumer is almost over

  • @meatloafzombie

    Dang $55 ??

I would prob buy two at least if they were that cheap. But I'm assuming there wasn't more than one there that cheap

  • hey man i bought the pack and i love the thing!!!! i packed it out full and it easily holds a weeks worth of junk ^_^ it cost about an arm anda leg but the quality of this bag is worth it thhanx bro!!!

  • 10:08 - That's incredible! Look how fast his hands move. He must be a ninja or something...

  • bergen's are best tbh

  • I think if they really wanted to copy the design, they could always just buy one... no need to hide the features in a youtube video.

  • Could you guys do a video about the spec ops SOB pack? I'm looking for something to put on my molly vest. right now I'm thinking about just running 2 5.11 10.6 pouches.

  • haha i thought this was song by "the pack"

  • Thanks, that will be my new pack thanks to this video.. Danish Recon Scout.

  • @DanconIraq8

Good bag for a shooter too.. I didn't realize the gap between the two pouches is to rest your rifle in

  • Just a thought -- I doubt anyone would try to copy a pack by watching YouTube reviews for trade secrets. It would be quite easy and much more effective to simply GET one of them and disassemble it! I personally don't think you need to worry about giving away trade secrets ;)

  • @notreallydaedalus

True, I just don't want to help

  • now...would this stuff be issued to US servicemen?

or do they have to go out and buy it themselves too?

    (i dont think so...)

  • @CmGHaures we get issued shit way better in my opinion... nowadays we do

  • @CmGHaures we get issued shit way better in my opinion... nowadays we do i actually think this is a shitty ass pack the ones we have have mmore straps and pads and have built in camelbaks so.... yeah

  • Why are you worried about other people copying the Spec-ops pack? Other companies will copy the pack by actually putting their hands on one, not by watching your videos dude. By witholding certain critical information pertaining to the construction of the pack you are only leaving your audience uninformed. Way to fail dude.

  • I forgot to mention, that I have a few spec-ops brand products and they are all top-notch quality.

  • For the price they better be top notch.

  • The Inside slip pocket that the narrator said was for a hydration bladder is actually where you install the "THE Frame". The Frame is a stiff plastic internal frame that also uses two aluminum struts to allow the user to distribute the wieght of much heavier loads. Of course you can use the pocket for a hydration bladder, but that's not its intended use.

  • had this pack for 3 months now and its been tested in all kinds of ways and still looks as good as new its a little weighty but i can live with that i would say it worth the money as if anything goes wrong with it spec ops will replace it as it has its life time warranty also got the pack rat with it and have been very impressed with that aswell and the the wallet jr is built to last aswell i would recommend spec ops brand if want quality and some thing that will last

  • what kind of knife is that?

  • You sir are one detail oriented mofo. Very nice job. I will check packs better before I buy from now on. Thanks.

  • Great Job on your review. I have 1 ea. of these in OD & Woodland. They're strong yet light, adn move with you. I have a couple of BH packs and they are made too rigid and heavy compared to these.

  • Very nice pack...big fan of Spec-Ops brand. $219.95 is a little pricey in my opinion though. I'd probably opt for a Maxpedition pack instead.

  • I like Max too, but nothing about this bag has made me think it cost too much

It's VERY well made, and it works great, zippers almost open automatically, I've only used it a few weeks but I can see where the small details were really thought out on these

I don't get paid either way you go, but I'd urge you to keep looking at these

  • @ GearBuyersGuide

Well that's good to know. I have the Spec-Ops T.H.E. Wallet Jr / The Mini Cargo Pocket Organizer / and the Pack Rat. All high quality products so...I will definitely consider the Spec Ops T.H.E. Pack before I make any final decisions on which one to get. I do really like the fact that is made in the USA. Thanks for the honest input.

  • there was no ka-bar in this video

I bet you think your are really witty

    It's not really working though.

    Go back to TV

  • dog the bounty hunter uses a combat knife?

  • could someone please explain the difference between molle and pals attachment points

  • we did a whole video on it.. basically

PAL is the webbing it's self (and the grid it's sewn in)

MOLLE is the name of the pack & pouches systems that use PALS to attach

  • My brother carried this pack in Iraq as US Marine. He [pack] went though the shit in a Recon Platoon daily. It has battle scars [hit by metal fragments] from mortar. This pack was apart of him & he counted on it everyday. He made it home safe, pack included. He gave the battle tested pack to my son who uses it everyday. From bullets to book, hands down a HIGH QUALITY pack which is worth the price and then some...

  • great to hear, thanks for the post

  • watched all of your spec ops...reviews....its is sold here in canada..and was not sure as to the brand and other such stuff....just not sure about it...good to c this review..have to look into it perchusing a few items...good reviews

  • i have been waiting for ages for some one to review this pack

the only thing i was worried about is the weight ?

    i have ordered one today

what do you think of it compared to maxpedition packs

    great review

    thank for the review

  • my camel back mule is the same size and it's like half the weight of my maxpedition condor ii!! if this helps i carry an mre

folding saw and MSR MiniWorks EX in the main compartment i think it would work as an ultralight survival or overnight kit or a minimalist bug out bag!!

  • I hate to play two good companies off each other.. so I won't say one is better than the other..

I have only reviewed smaller packs and pouches from Max.. and I liked all of them so far

However I also like this Spec-Ops pack, it is very well made and I like the layout

I would assume Max could (or perhaps does make) a similar pack

I REALLY like "Made in the USA" gear though, and that goes a long way for me personally

  • Nice reveiw straight to the point. Never thought about putting one inside out I'll have to now. thank you.

  • wow for 200 bucks I could get a much nicer pack than that. It's a nice pack but way over priced for what you get imo.

  • I would be interested in what you concider "better" for less than $200

    Step up and show us

  • I'm not trying to imply that this pack is not well made, because it obviously is. I'm just saying for $200 they could have added some more features. For starters, why not throw in a hydration bladder. All of the camelbaks in that price range come with one.

  • Also, I would like to see detachable straps although thats not a that big of a deal, but the back panel has nothing on it just flat and plain. How about some padded mesh ventilation. One other thing that I've seen which is kinda cool is molle webbing inside the pockets, which I think is a really awesome feature and just adds to the level of customization. I like spec-ops I have some of their stuff, but for what you're getting, this pack is way over priced in my opinion.

  • Very nice.
