  • Hi Lena,

Very very nice. Enjoyed your playing and guitar!

Just swapped my Stratocaster Japan for a Framus Soralla with single pick up.

    Wich strings do you use?

  • @mwketelaar Good idea! :)) The string that I use (only for my Framus and especially for slide) are Thomastik-Infeld (Jazz BeBop, round wound, not! the flat wound, .014-.055). Thank you, Lena

  • Nice guitar!

  • @TheVladaguitar Yes it is! Thanks :)) Lena

  • Nice guitar!

  • I have a guitar like this one since 1963,,as a kid,, except color is diff, tailgate is curved (Sorella logo) and I had a small amp with it, Dynacord, which my brother destroyed.amp was small, blue in color, great echo/tremlo, amp chord was RCA jack one end and 4-5 pin for amp, I remember that, plus it had a foot switch (3 prong in rear of amp) the amp/guitar sounded great, I plan to restore mine soon, just finished on my 1973 es-335

  • @WEBTRAIN I thinks guitars like this are worth to be restored. Good plan! :) Lena

  • sehr schön!

  • Vielen Dank!! :))

  • Wow... That's the genuine article right there.... You know what your doing. VERY good playing Miss.

  • Thank you very much pezuno!!

    :)) Lena

  • gut gespielt...du hast mich soeben inspiriert^^

  • das freut mich sehr :))

  • I can hear a lot of John Fahey in your playing. Nice axe, good playing, good solid bass plucking to keep that 'ol train a rollin...'

  • thanks a lot for all these compliments!!

    Cheers,

    Lena :))

  • Danke Phil!

Also: Cis, Gis, Cis, f, gis, cis

Ich benutze Jazz BeBop Saiten von Thomastik-Infeld, Round! Wound., Medium (.055-.o14)

  • Eine Framus? Hast Du die alten Pickups noch?

  • Comment removed

  • Glückwunsch!!! .. die haben einen ganz unvergleichlichen Klang .... :)))

  • back to this one. du hast es halt einfach drauf, ich liebe es. darf ich fragen was so eine gitarre kostet oder was man ausgeben muss um eine vergleichbare zu bekomme? ich finds zu geil, danke lena, LG. Christopher

    Lg---Flo

  • Klar mache ich das Flo .. subito .... :=))

  • <3 <3 <3

    lovely, wonderful, heartening :-)

  • DANKESCHÖÖÖÖÖN :=)))) Lena

:-)) Vielen herzlichen Dank!!!

  • whaaaa. The pickups are original framus?

  • Yes, pickup are original (end 1950th, beginning 1960th). But please notice that this video is recorded by micro not the pickups. But I think I should to it with pickups too ....

  • Lovely guitar and great playing.... you have marvellous control... a lot folk get all overexcited and mess up the tempo...

You're my new inspiration, Lena, - think I'll try some more slide myself.!

  • Oh Barry, sorry so much, I' ve forgotten to say THANKS for your so kind und wise comment,

    cheers,

    Lena

    LG Christopher

  • Danke Christopher,

ich liebe Deine Kommentar, vielen vielen Dank,

    love the framus

    stay koooooooool

  • Thanks bluespower, yes the Framus is a wonderful guitar, with a very own tone. :=))

  • Real sweet. Beautiful separation between the bass and treble. The tone is wonderful. Great Bukka. You go girl!

  • Thank you very much Keni, maybe I should play more on my wonderful Framus guitar ... :=))

  • HI Lena, you are a great slide-guitarplayer,

***** i'm a good friend of Laurie and so i

have find you, realy great tune !!!

    Many---Grtz---Kurt !!!

  • Thank you Kurt (and Laurie), you are a great player too and I really feel nonored! :=))

  • Very nice stuff..two of my favourite numbers..I learnt to play both of them from Catfish Keith - have you been to one of his workshops?

  • No John, but I bought a Catfish Keith video years ago. I learned "Bye and Bye" by watching it. Thanks for your nice words!

  • Very nice playin....I love the Booker song. You should try singing them too.

  • Thanks Frank! I was thinking long time about getting authentically with these wonderful old blues songs. (Singing in my Germanamericanenglish slang will bear monsters). I decided that the best way to be true would be to play them in a style like this. Actually I'm studying John Fahey style to make them better. Hope you like it too. :=))

  • Wow, really impressed. I play myself and admire your alternating bass. I know it takes some work to play alternating bass and slide. Once I learned the technique, it was like riding a bicycle. Great work, keep pickin

  • Danke ferfried6 and thanx hank, yes I like to cycle the guitar and will go on doing this :=))

  • Ganz starke Nummer.

  • Thanx so much Anne, you are really nice! Feel honored to be asked for advices :=))

  • By and by I'm gonna give up slide! You're too good.

  • Wow...You really got it from the heart! How gret to see the blues played for real nowadays...I just started trying to teach myself blues guitar and this is an inspiration...Thanks for posting and dont ever give up :+)

  • I LOVE this video!! The sound of that guitar is so calming...it has a beautiful tone to it and your playing is beautiful too!!

    Please post more videos!

  • Your ear was made for the blues, your fingers for the picking!

    :-)

  • Another beautiful rendition.

  • nice stuff

  • Beautiful playing Lena. Maybe one day I'll be able to learn how to use that pinky slider you have there. 5*****

  • I am sure you will...THANKS!

  • wow..incredible playin!!!!this will be added to my favorites list..I have a 1939 Gibson acoustic..the sad part is that I can only play a few chords.lol..I play brass instruments but always wanted to learn to play the geeeetar..maybe one day..

  • lena you play great blues and that s really nice guitar too

thank you for our comments aswell

    andrea

  • plz can you tell me what strings you are useing as i have the same guitar, Great picking and sliding thanks:)

  • Thank you Mydarklord!

it's great to read that there are so much fans of Framus guitars. My strings are Thomastik-Infeld (Jazz BeBop, round wound, not! the flat wound, .014-.055). Best strings that I know if you want to play acoustic AND amplified.

  • Lena, this is just wonderful! Love this style of playing...you're very good! Suze

  • This is great, perhaps you could treat us to the Mississippi Blues, an old classic?

  • Thanks a lot forhissake! First it's Bye And Bye, I'm Goin To See The King by Blind Willie Johnson. But it's like Catfish Keith do this song, Blind Willie's original sounds different. Second is Jitterburg Swing by Booker T. White. So it's otherworldly and secularistic in one instrumental.

  • Wonderful! You have an excellent slide technique.

Is that a metal or glass slide?

  • My three main slides are made of gemstone, steel and one, this one, is a real bootleneck. Actually my favorite.

  • Great picking and sliding. Cool guitar, my first 12-string was a Framus...how time flies...

  • Thanks Patty,Steve, Daniel and Reny. Yes Pipe, the Framus is a very nice sounding old guitar. Love my sorella ... :)))

  • As always... rite on track (like a choo choo). Another nice one Lena. Dig the pick up at the end into Jitterbug Swing... cool. Holler

    - peace fo'real, Sidestreet Reny

  • Great blues sound you are getting. Interesting guitars you have too.

  • WOW! Lena! Truly Great Work!

  • Forgot to mention, I am very envious of that right hand thumb picking of yours, mine will not behave!

    Dean

  • Thanks Dean!

I learned it by splitting one or two tacts in very little pieces. That was boaring but one day Mr. Thumb was walking himself.

  • Feel like I'm riding/sliding in a real old car down a lonely country road, and the sun's goin' down.( trouble's gonna catch me here)

    Dean

  • ***** stars für den Bluesstar

  • Thanks so much David and Rudi. Day by day I'm more glad about joining youtube and meeting you really inspiring friends ... :-)))

  • Thanks for showin the cool old Framus. Great blues tune and slide work. So when you were hangin, down at the crossroads, did you get to meet Robert? Great job Lena! Lo4sho!
