I literally remember everything about this match. I was a senior in high school and got back during the third set and was like "WTF Roger? This is your one f-ing chance to win the French Open and you are blowing it?!" Then I spent the next two hours laying on the floor barely breathing, and desperately praying for an all-time Roger comeback. When del Potro broke back in the 5th set I vividly remember pounding my hand in to the floor. So happy he made it past Haas in 4th round and delPo in semis.

i remember where i was this day. friday evening, i was meant to be going to do the kids weekdly coaching session but prayed for rain and i got it, thunder and lightening and everything, boy was i glad. thanks del po for giving us at least one epic before your injury, gives me something to watch in the mean time!

You don't make a lot of sense saying delpo would've won montreal if not for the heat. The heat is part of the game, if he can't handle that then he didn't deserve to win it. I respect how he's got back to the top 40 so fast but that's obvious at his level.

btw madrid result was awesome. won nearly 100 with a small bet on nole. Knew he'd win

@vernjackie why are you even a fan of murray... he's a joke. He's been in 3 finals... L L and L. no surprise. he cannot handle pressure and at some point you cant blame him because all of the U.K. relies on him... but Juan Martin Del Potro is just a better tennis player. He will become a higher rank than Murray. He has proven he can win a Grand Slam, and he has that elite respect. Murray isn't there yet.. sorry.

This year he lost to djokovic, and who hasn't?? Let's see if delpo can do any better against him. @vernjackie it is not a valid argument to say that someone is better because they have won a grand slam? more consistant? del potro has been injured.. he hasnt played real since that slam. and based on skill. there is no need to bring up all of these so-called "accomplishments" of murray because no one has respect for him as opposed to del potro. Even the other players have said that del potro is going to be one of the best on tour.. no one says this about murray. We'll see in 2011 who is better

In your theory, if he is better than Del Potro, why has he lost to Federer twice in the Finals and Del Potro won on his only try.

@BrownCurry37 no if you just look over to the official atp rankings you'll see that murray has played 20 tourneys this year. thats 5 less than soderling, and 2 less than del potro. its a fact... lol.... aside from that misinformation you have, i agree that del potro is back in form. he played great today against nadal and i'm happy to see him back. However you need to stop bashing murray and accept his talent before I can show you any further respect.

I think this was an even greater victory than the Haas match, because in the Haas match, once Federer managed to pinch the third set, there was only going to be one winner, but del Potro would never go away.

owned him? Delpo was that close to win it in 3 sets. I wanted Federer to win this macth and I'm happy he did, but if Delpo would't have made those 4 unforced errors on the 2nd set tiebreak he woudl have won the match for sure, Fed was the one owned 4/5 of the match.

@MrMasterMan1000 It's all about those important points isn't it :P You haven't won until you've won, and I'm sure you give credit as I do to Federer for sticking in there and keeping calm at those important moments. The Wimbledon 2009 final is another example, and only about 3 weeks after this! It's nice seeing Federer blast people of the court, but seeing him dig deep to pull through is ultimately more rewarding :)

The best part of the match -- Del Potro's sportsmanship!! Someone like Nadal wont even look at his opponent after losing the match!! Del Potro and federer are both wonderful people and have great

respect for one another!!
