Top track car ever built. ZR1... Beast, but can't touch it. Lexus, Nissan, Ferrari... they can't build a car that can put up the numbers the ACR does. Then you've got Vipers running mid to low 7s quite often in the quarter mile. Like it or not, this is one of the top cars ever built.
Vipers are ugly and they sound like a VW with the 10 cylnders. They really never caught on and have hit the bottom with the later models. The originals had a chance but then the lost their edge and went pretty boy.
@skizzler86 then tame japanese nissan gtr or german audi r8 would be more your kind of sports cars, you see, vipers were never made to be driven easily by every child and woman, they are puristic brutal bad ass machines barely anything more than a racecar for that matter, not only do you nee vast driving skills to move one of those near it`s capabilities but you also need to have a major set of cohones to do so :) greetings from germany.

@EatmyDust1311 no, my 600 wasnt a guess, they are rated at 600 hp, the SAME 8.4l cam in a cam, pushrod engine that is in the non acr viper. These are not hondas, or 5.7l chevys, they were not built with restricting exhaust, or weaksauce grocery getter tuning. A HUGE majority of the potential was already being used from the factory so gaining another 50-100 whp is actually pretty impressive.
@fordboy4ever no oem tune is anything less than very conservative. they have a warranty to back up and a reputation to uphold, and people failing emission tests and blowing valves wont cut it for them. 600 bhp from a 8.4 liter is not that much, its tuned for torque, but its still a oem production car
@middsteve Car mags are not the ones purchasing his cars. Sure, he can field one semi-legit car for a magazine, but not for customers. Even for magazines, he has had numerous scenarios where the cars have failed and/or never started. You need to do more background research on Viper forums and hear from the Viper owners and all of his tuned car owners in general.

I think all vipers look great, especially this one. Saleen S7s look great IMO, Ferrari Enzo's are kin of ugly. I think Bugatti Veyron's are great lookin but some people don't agree. I agree with you stevewode. Vipers have always been my favorite car since i saw them years ago when they came out but anyone who says the vette is ugly is an idiot. Vettes are a sexy looking car that can hang on the drag strip and track with cars that cost 3 times as much.
@stevewode They're good-looking cars, certainly, but all-in-all rather plain-jane and mostly indistinguishable from each other. Unfortunate, but rather true. Only minor bits tell you that a corvette is entry-level or a Z06. The ZR1 is the only one that looks truly unique in my opinion.
Like I said, good-looking cars, but styling is not necessarily a high-point.

@fordboy4ever i think its rated 650 stock. any good tuner should get at least 700hp out of it or they arent trying. but then it is hennessey, they arent known for trying very hard

@EatmyDust1311 no, my 600 wasnt a guess, they are rated at 600 hp, the SAME 8.4l cam in a cam, pushrod engine that is in the non acr viper. These are not hondas, or 5.7l chevys, they were not built with restricting exhaust, or weaksauce grocery getter tuning. A HUGE majority of the potential was already being used from the factory so gaining another 50-100 whp is actually pretty impressive.

@fordboy4ever no oem tune is anything less than very conservative. they have a warranty to back up and a reputation to uphold, and people failing emission tests and blowing valves wont cut it for them. 600 bhp from a 8.4 liter is not that much, its tuned for torque, but its still a oem production car

@middsteve Car mags are not the ones purchasing his cars. Sure, he can field one semi-legit car for a magazine, but not for customers. Even for magazines, he has had numerous scenarios where the cars have failed and/or never started. You need to do more background research on Viper forums and hear from the Viper owners and all of his tuned car owners in general.

That is awesome. You are doing the same job as my cousin. It is a very good profession. Your friends may have issues then. But there is another side to it. Your friends are true scientists. They take the technology forward. A physician or a surgeon.... they are like technicians. If you see this or that, give this or do that. And you have all the laboratories and other professionals to help you in diagnostics. Your friends are the engineers at BMW while you are the mechanic. It is very simple.

On the other hand, the reason it is harder to get into your profession is because you are directly responsible if you do anything wrong. The lawyers will come after you. While if I a pharmacologist does anything wrong, they will come after the company I work for. The company will fire me and I will go and work for another one. That is the difference. Just like the mechanic at the corner of my house. If I crash after a brake job, he is responsible not the BMW or Dodge engineer. Get the picture?

One person will feel that one car is more attractive than another. Just like if you went down the street, you'll find some women who are attractive to YOU and others are not. Your friend walking next to you might find the unattractive women pretty.
Its the same with cars. PERSONALLY when it comes to super cars, Vettes and Porsche are not attractive to me. Vipers, GTRs, and LFAs are attractive to ME.

great point man. as they say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder & looks are opinions & people can have different ones. I kinda like the way newer vettes & newer porsche's look (cept the Carrera Gt, that things 1 of the best lookin cars IMO) but some people may say different. I think all vipers look great, especially this one. Saleen S7s look great IMO, Ferrari Enzo's are kin of ugly. I think Bugatti Veyron's are great lookin but some people don't agree. Everybody can have their own opinions

I agree with you stevewode. Vipers have always been my favorite car since i saw them years ago when they came out but anyone who says the vette is ugly is an idiot. Vettes are a sexy looking car that can hang on the drag strip and track with cars that cost 3 times as much.

@stevewode They're good-looking cars, certainly, but all-in-all rather plain-jane and mostly indistinguishable from each other. Unfortunate, but rather true. Only minor bits tell you that a corvette is entry-level or a Z06. The ZR1 is the only one that looks truly unique in my opinion.
Like I said, good-looking cars, but styling is not necessarily a high-point.
