I remember there being like an epic drop near the end.... more intense than all the rest (to me it was intense, but I'm not huge on roller coasters). All the drops just seem so weak to me when you're only watching a video of the ride and you're looking at the track with the lights on. Several people have told me it's more scary with the lights on because they were afraid of hitting their heads.

every time i go to disney it seems they are always doing something to space mountian! last time i went in october of 2009 it was also closed! now i am going in may this year and it might be closed!

@fullermrff I believe there are two tracks, they are designed to be identical so other than the place that they start and the side of the control tower/astronauts the track is it's essentially the same experience.

@Psychodelix1 There are two tracks, Alpha (Branching Left) and Omega (Branching Right). Personally I have noticed Omega to be alot faster in the back (Seat 6) then any seat on the Alpha track. Omega's turns seem sharper as well as the drops being a few feet farther than Alpha's track.

there is a 3 sec difference between the left and right track so all the same, on slow days they left is line customers and the right is fast pass

This is still my favorite Space Mountain, even after riding Disneyland's Space Mountain.

@MrThemeParkAudios I don't know if you can actually call it a refurb they really did hardly anything and it was closed for 7 months they were suppose to replace the whole track but the only replaced portions it. The only noticeable changed were the roof on the boarding area and games in the queue. For the ride itself was a big disappointment the strobe tunnel electric sounds they replaced with a different sound effect and take your pic at the end thats pretty much it.

@MrThemeParkAudios I don't know. I like the single rider near the floor feel of it. You seem to feel more action. This was the original, like Splash Mountain at Disneyland.

@MrThemeParkAudios You have to admit that WDW's version is much more intense, though. They did add a bunch of new effects after the refurb in 2009.

@2brothersvideos well, at least it is better than before the refurb. But, I still don't like the music. I feel like I am in a nightclub when listening to this, not on Space Mountain. Good to dance to, but not fitting music for Space Mountain. But, it will have to do for now.
