I enjoyed this, it was a positive and straight forward look at the early American system. One that should be looked back on... It talks about how America sent more students to school, and had the highest expenditures on goods and entertainment. But that is not the case anymore, sadly America has fallen behind on a few of these levels in recent years. Especially education... budget cuts, etc. But I believe that the American people will pull together and fix this in due time. ^^,
China is becoming a breeding ground for investment right now. That's why we're in a pit of personal debt. Of course nobody will admit to this though, no they'd rather blame socialism. We just will never have a working class that will work hard enough. Workers of the world unite in shantytown, where we all stab each other in the back for a nickel to see a once chewed piece of bubble-gum by king forbes the 84th.
Oh yeah. The government was incompetent then, so now we want to relinquish more control of our lives to the similarly incompetent government under Obama? That makes a lot of sense...
I notice it didn`t say anything about the ever-rising American National Debt which has never been, or ever will be paid back, or that most of it has been bought up Communist China. The Americans are still going cap-in-hand to the Chinese just to keep financially solvent. America lives on credit and always has.

I am 100% opposed to Government controlled health care. Why? Simple, if we have Government run health care, where would the Canadians go to get their health care?
People need to get past hatred of any one President ..this is for our country..we are embracing our decline. I really think that is what the younger generation wants..after (having the freedom to go) to Univerities to hear America bashing. Tragic.
Great video, inspirational. And, for you critics, perhaps you should be grateful you live in a nation where you are allowed to voice an opposing opinion.
Used to be actually, Obama is now the permanent ruler of the US as he was voted so last november. But that's another story. I can see the libtards posting down your very message how typical...
I want to make sure I get this straight....Stateism just started when the new guy took over? There was no blind following of the leader the last 8 years? I just want to make sure I understand. Taking the government depply into debt during what they are touting as a period of growth is a good thing? If so, ok.
Don't miss the point folks, while we are fussing over certain details of a 50 or more years old cartoon, we are losing daily with the new administration the basis of freedom and capitalism which helped to make this the greatest country on earth. Not to say we don't have our problems, but while we blindly follow we are heading full speed into "socialism" and "marxism" or "communism" at the worst! We better wake up FAST!
Class warfare, pitting one group against the other... divide and conquer. The left looks at success as how many people are dependent on government services, the right looks at success as to how many people are independent. You're enslaved to the degree you are dependent on the government. Now, where are all these government programs heading? Enslavement, or freedom, your choice.
Capitalism? Isn't that an ism? I also noticed about 1.1 sec of anyone of color in this video yet the main person in that shot was a pretty blonde girl. Hey I know another ism, racism.
The cracker-barrel philosophy club at 1:07 has a black member. Also, notice the classroom scene at 1:13, which shows white kids and black kids sharing the same class together. At 8:40, race hatred is described as a form of disunity and anti-freedom. This was made in 1948, when racial segregation was the norm, so to do stuff like that would've been considered extreme.
When people have a freedom, they don't appreciate its value. Most of them would be willing or even pleased to exchange their freedom(s) for a few benefits and often for the indefinite promises of so-called "happy life". If an exchange happens, people find out the true value of liberty and understand that without their freedoms they can't be happy. Unfortunately, people uncover their loss of freedom all too late.
Wow what an evil bit of propaganda that was. Course what it actually means is freedom for the rich considering the minority have the majority of wealth. In the last thirty years we have seen working hours go up, real growth for the majority stagnate considerably and poverty in africa grow tremendously with the race to the bottom!
Right, b/c the alternatives (communism, fascism, etc.) have worked so brilliantly over the last 100 years. It's truly is amazing how many people are trying to move from the US to Cuba nowadays to escape the horrors of freedom.

Yes but where has this debt come from?
Perhaps it has come from the implementation of just the sort of programs this video condemns, and for good reason too.

I think this cartoon is overestimating it's audience.
Do you have anything smaller words and dancing elephants or something - you know - something even Obama can understand?
