  • Its Maxim Vengrov! Playing the piano?!!?

  • ive played the movements 1-4

  • its tempo issue other wise it has the Romanian spirit

  • what violin is that?

  • just for the record i think every1 knows that bartok bela is hungarian not romanian:)

  • He stole the music from the Roma (Gypsies) and then adapted it, similar to Handel.

  • @archlab2001

Actually this is Romanian volk music. Romanian and Roma (Gypsies) are different people. This particular music is specific to Transilvanya, which was a part of Austro-Hungarian Empire. Béla Bartók was Hungarian,..the connection is obvious.

  • I JUST LOVE HER INTERPRETATION AMAZING!

  • im doing this piece at an audition in like 5 days and im soooo freaking nervous!! idk if i can do it lol Xb

  • Bela Bartoks the shit! My dad told me hes an ancestor of mine and that blows my fucking mind.

  • Perfecta....

  • Amazing! My sister's learning this one. At 1:40 it's all played on harmonics! So hard to do!

  • At 4:57, I really can't beleive that girl could go to sleep with this!!!~~~

  • wonderfull performance !! nothing else to be said :):)

  • I once saw her showcasing a delightful pair of mazurkas near the Concertgebouw and now she's a musician!

  • Incrível Janine Jansen!!!

    grande interpretação...

  • Interprétation de caractère! Un grand sens du rubato et des nuances.Bravo!

  • Super...

  • she's very strange... but very good on the other hand!!!!! :)

  • lol - definitely very strange, but certainly good. one part in the harmonics she messed up at 2:00 -2:02, but I mean anybody messes up. pretty good. shes totally weird in her mannerisms, though..and her pose..

  • you two are very weird and very strange to leave a dumb ass comment like this

  • She's awesome! I've played this on the violin before, but I really like her interpretaion.

  • God bless Béla Bartók.

  • Amen!

A true gift to the world...

  • Im learning this on the piano :o

  • the best version!

  • my goal is to play like this, its great!

  • Z dostepnych na serwisie najlepsze. The best of Youtube Romanian Folk dances - it`s from heart

  • IS it supposed to be a dance music madam? So stupid!

  • i know a guy who can play thissss

    janine is awesome!

  • The hugarian and romanian people united by music, there are another thing to unite this cultures? So nice. What do you thing?

  • I like your comment very much - and I think it is correct.

  • ...that was amazing

  • elle est belle

  • i like her passion, it is bartok and gypsy, top musicians of the world now and then.

  • As you see , the title is Romanian Folk Dances . Advice: even if you see a gipsy musical performance , this doesn,t means he is singing gipsy music . Gipsy music is different . :)

  • Actually, I have this music. I play the viola :)...Anyway, at the top of the sheet it says 'With a gypsy like feel', or someti=hing like that....I just thought you might want to know ;)

  • I know what means that "gipsy feel" of a music or interpretation but not this time. For a western one it,s little dificult to see the differnce.Romanian folk music is based on feelings.Feelings as love, joy, hate,"missing home, home lands, somebody or love"into romanian called "dor",love for nature, ancients, parties, dances, drinking and so on.After these,a gipsy-nomad free spirit camed like a glove on romanian music, maybe similar as black slaves spirit music in US. I can show you few examples :

  • A synthetic romanian musical spirit you can see listeninig: Romanian Rhapsody and other pieces by George Enescu, Ciocarlia (The Lark)unknown author,Gheorghe Zamfir-Panflute (traditional songs not international songs) and many others. Some romanian music but with gipsy spirit you may see listening Grigoras Dinicu compositions, Georges Boulanger (Gheorghe Pantazi real name) and many, many others. After that I,ll show you the real gipsy songs. Similar happened in Spain : see Flamenco

  • agreed. i have it to (violin)

  • Very nice!

Does anybody think they could help me get hold of the music for this piece? I can't seem to find it anywhere

  • That's Janine Jansen. AMAZING VIOLINIST

  • just great

  • on second though, maybe not her after all; and WTF with cutting off right before the big finale???

  • it looks alot like nadia salerno-sonnenberg, my favorite violinst of all time

  • it's a fantastic sounding performance, but her body language is WAY over the top! Look 3:46 minutes into the video... her face is attacking the violin!!!

  • superb.

  • Kolosszális - technikailag nagyon ott van. gratula!

  • She plays great but I HATE HER FACIAL EXPRESSIONS.

  • so full of passion , like all his work!

  • love it!

  • excellent

  • what happens to their heads?

it seems as if they've forgotten it is music, not theatre

  • yes, it seems that she might give herself whiplash, or pull a neck muscle...

  • where's the folklore?

  • Oh god :O

  • The pianist is The great Itamar Golan from Israel

  • she played it very well.

     :]]

  • i can't play the 3rd piece well!!

  • i like how she played the second last movement

  • I think that Bela Bartok is a great of '900. The dances are wonderful, and so most of folk production.

  • I am playing this piece in orchestra. I love it! I want to play more pieces like Bartok's Romanian Dance.

  • Wow...I'm playing this right now and, believe me, she sounds amazing!!!

  • I think she is fantastic.

  • Ha! Nice to watch a violinist from my own country. Miss Janine Jansen from The Netherlands!

  • i love these dances. they're nice for cello

  • I must play that for my examen in december. cant wait to do that

  • Hi! I also have an IB external assesed piece to play, so i was wondering if you had the music for this piece...

  • COMUNIST TRYING TO BE WESTERN! f uuuuuuuuuuuuu!

  • ...and you sir, are a moron trying to spell.

  • i`m romanian and i asure i i dont wanna be western, i prefer to stay savage romanian, cuz this were the wild beauty is

  • Beautiful. Eastern European classical music has a certain charm to it. The cutshots of the people on the balcony and the couples were a little distracting though.
