  • Thanks for sharing! I'm getting married on February 18th with a Tridentine High Mass. My fiance and I are very excited!

  • It's so good to see the bride dressed so modestly!!!

  • Thank you very much. We're both looking forward to it. God bless you.

  • I am happy to say that I am getting married in April with the latin nuptials.

  • @Christiscatholic33ad

Congratulations! I am sure you will always remember it. The prayers at the end about seeing your children and grandchildren to the third and fourth generation are awe inspiring. It is not the same until they are being offered for YOU!

Also keep in mind that there are special prayers for a first time bride that you will only receive this ONE time in your life. It is a very humbling and meaningful prayer.

  • WOW that is awesome! I have never seen a Tridentine mass!

  • The TLM is the Mass of all time. Great Video, I wish my Wife and I would had TLM instead of Novus Ordo. I attend Saint John Cantius sadly enough my Wife passed away back in January from stage 4 Bone Cancer she was only 30 years old we where only Married 5 and half years.

  • I always wonder why women wear so much less than men do...and why they don't cover their heads at the sacred services...

  • @yablabo

Keep in mind that MOST of our family who were attending were NOT used to the TLM. This was 1999. The requirement to wear a veil was also removed in the 1983 code of canon law. The theological reasons for doing so are still very valid, but on our wedding day we were just happy to have the TLM and were not going to be the veil police.

  • @mom2threebabes when I was referring to the "sacred services" that includes the Ordinary (Missa Latina) and Extraordinary (Missa Tridentina) Forms of the Latin Rite as well as the eastern divine liturgies. I wouldn't expect one to play "veil" police, I merely wonder why the women allow so much nudity, whereas the men are pretty much covered neck to toes. Also, the abrogation of the 1917 Codex Iuris Canonici by the 1983 Codex is a matter of Church Law, the divine mandate on headcovering stands.

  • @yablabo I share your concerns about the way women dress for the church. Unfortunatelly you can see more and more often even brides with even shoulders uncovered and priests who don't care. In fact it's getting hard to find a wedding dress which would be suitable for the church.

  • @mom2threebabes Actually, the requirement to wear the veil was never removed. It was presumed to have been removed because there was no definite statement made on the veil. So, yes, it is still required. But, what a lovely Mass, and how great it is that all those people who were not used to the Old Rite had the privilege to participate in it. Congratulations!

  • @mimiflute

Yes it was. The 1983 code of Canon Law Specificlly abrogated the 1917 code. It is right there if you want to see it. This means that the LAW requiring a veil is gone. The request by saint Paul and his reasoning for it still stand.

I understand many in traditional circles have a hard time with this, but it is true. Every canon lawyer will tell you this. Even the SSPX uses the 1983 code when they argue their points.

  • @mom2threebabes Thank you for sharing that. It's wonderfull. I'm sure, if I'm gonna get married some day, I will do it that way.

I also like the women wearing a veil in the church, but I never tried to do it so, as it is fully unusually in my region, so the people would say, I tried to play a nun or something like that :)

  • Congratulations with your nice wedding mass. Can recommend a couple of tridentine masses which I uploaded from the Amsterdam (Holland) based church of St. Agnes, served by the priestly fraternity of st. Peter, esp. the christmass eve mass is an interesting vid.

  • I can only praise this couple who had the imagination and respect for ancient tradition-of profound psychological significance- to have their wedding mass celebrated in the venerable Latin language. Dominus vobiscum !

  • Oh, yes, the angels are still there. I was on my way up to northern wisconsin for the fall color of 2010, but got into Rockford way too early in the morning for morning mass, so I just continued on my way. When I was living in Fox Lake Illinois for a very short period of time, I'd drive there for mass on Sunday otherwise I attended St. Peters in Volo Illinois. There they have the traditional Latin mass on Sunday too.

  • This was at St. Mary's in Rockford Illinois?

  • @rrbond07

Yes. It looks a little different today. Today the back of the sanctuary has been painted pink. Not sure if the praying angels are still there or not.

  • Thank you so very, very, very much for uploading. It is so nice that a couple still makes a conscious choice for a traditional roman-catholic wedding ceremony.

  • Deo gratias!!! This video brings so much joy everytime I watch it (nope, this isn't my first time). Do you all have a patron saint of your marriage that I can invoke for special protection of your persevering in the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony? What a glorious wedding =)

  • @CSteveOboe88

    Sometimes St. Jude. haha.

    The immaculate heart of Mary!

  • @CSteveOboe88 St. Anne and St. Joseph

  • @CSteveOboe88 St. Valentine, St. John Francis Regis

  • I thought you were to be modest in dress and wear veils? I am a novus ordo checking out traditional stuff.

  • Wearing of veils, after the promulagation of Code of Canon Law of 1983, was no longer mentioned. This effectivly makes the REQUIREMENT to wear a viel (for women) optional. This is a nice devotional to adhere to as St. Paul taught us. We did ask people to wear veils in our wdding program and they were available in church, however we were not going to be the veil police. Even before the 1962 the practice of wearing a veil was not universal as evidenced by many videos and pictures.

  • I was mostly thinking of the dresses on the girls. I have been reading a book: "Dressing with Dignity", by Colleen Hammond, Tan publishing. This speaks about what the Vatican, Popes, and saints have said about modesty so that is what I was also meaning by modesty.

I guess I just expected a traditional Catholic to be more modest than us. Thank you for responding.

  • @truth7beauty

The dresses were purchased before we decided to have the Mass at St. Mary's. We spoke with Father about this since we could not ask the ladies to return dresses that were already purchased. Father said that should shawls would be sufficient. We asked each of the ladies to wear one and they did for better or worse. Keep in mind this was 1999 almost 10 years before summorum pontificum. We asked for a latin Mass fairly late in our wedding planning. We did the best we could.

  • @mom2threebabes don't listen to the people complaining.. everyone looks beautiful!

  • Yes, this is St. Marys in Rockford, Illinois. I've been to this parish several times.

  • oh wow, thank you so much for this, I am happy to view it, I haven't seen it fully, but just knowing that it is here and I can see it makes me happy. Hope it loads quickly. I might celebrate the TLM at my wedding too, so this helps a lot, thanks.

  • Sad to see open sleeveless dresses before God! Surprised, for this Church.

  • The norms call for a shoulder shawl if the dresses are sleeveless. Each bridesmaid had a shawl. I wish we could have had something else, but this was what the bridesmaids could afford. We did the best we could with what we could afford.

  • You are incorrect. Fr. Bovee is an Institute of Christ the King Priest. They are a Society of Apostolic Life of Pontifical Right created with permission by Pope John Paul II. All of their priests and their order have always been in full communion with Rome. Their order was erected on Semptember 1, 1990. The founder of the order was Msgr. Wach was ordained by Pope John Paul II.

Please do a little reasearch before posting false information.

  • beautiful wedding. Novus Ordo weddings are so banal.

    congratulations btw

  • I was the postee from WDTPRS asking about the Mass...These videos look to be a great help!

    Thanks!

  • wow, what a great contribution to youtube

  • congratulations and thanks for sharing this video

  • What did the Parents think of their first time to a Tridentine Mass?

  • My wife's parents did not know what to think as they very rarely attend any Church. My parents loved it, but they have attended Mass here before we were married.

My Grandmother on my father's side had not attended Mass in almost 20 years since VII. She rejected the NO. She did come to our Mass and said it was very pleasing to her.

Once of my parent's friends came as well. He was a professed agnostic who later converted to Catholicism. He said this wedding Mass was his motivation.

  • Thanks be to God. A true testement on how much more effective the TLM can be to souls as opposed to the Novus Ordo.

Your Grandmother on your Father's side is a Sedvaticist?

  • Yes, unfortunantly. We pleaded with her many times to return to the church. She was set in her ways though. This was the only Mass she went to, that I know of, before she died a few years back.

It makes me sad, but I pray for her often.

  • Thank you so much. I always wonderd what a tridintine wedding looked like.

  • thank you for sharing its very beautiful, congratulations!

  • Can't hear any of the nuptial rite--no mike for the priest.

  • Father specifically said no mic. His personal preference. If you listen closely, you can hear what he says. Most of the nuptials were in english with the exception of the prayers. Sorry about the lack of proper audio.

  • :) Congratulations and a very beautiful video!

  • Thank so much for putting this up!!! It means a lot to me :)

  • Thank you and what a Georgious Church to. Truly Roman Catholic.

    Congrats!
