  • I don't think that giving consumers or workers more money means that you are taking money out of private enterprise. The govt could print money out of thin air and create more demand for private enterprise. The economy needs more money circulating. It could give producers money which would create more money that would increase demand. It could give consumers money which would increase production. Just adding money to the economy wouldn't be inflationary. Both sides would benefit.

  • the term inflation means adding extra money in the economy!!!

  • It isn't inflationary. It is something that China does and she has proven that it isn't. It adds the to the leaven of the whole loaf. See? It is stimulating to both consumers AND producers. Inflation comes from elsewhere....finance capital.

  • I don't think chemtrails are to kill people. They make me sneeze that's about it. I wonder what they are for. Somebody says to reflect sunlight to help cool planet. If they wanted to kill they would poison us quickly I think. Also you guys that say people are hoarding cash? I thought we were broke and living off our credit cards. peter says we're in this mess because we never saved ehough. So who is hoarding cash? Not the unemployed. who and how did they get this cash?doesn't make sense

  • some videos have a poor sound quality, it makes it hard to understand for me as a foreigner. Pls try to improve it, thanks

  • Please Peter I beg you get a mic it sound horrible.

  • 'm hoping Mr. Schiff will come out with a video addressing the gold price manipulation. I'm wondering if Geithner really thinks the price suppression can go on indefinitely? What will be the negative consequences of their actions? And who, in the end, will benefit?

  • Of course they are fighting this economic war on many fronts. They inflate the dollar in order to rescue losing banks and pay for unproductive programs; make cuts on defense(when other nations are building their military and the threat of a nuclear attack is increasing).

The end will not be pretty...

  • I've become a Peter Schiff addict, I'm like a Junkie i cant get enough truth.

  • same

  • Thank you.

16:16 How much better it is to get wisdom than gold! and to get knowledge is more to be desired than silver

    God Bless Ron Paul

  • Thank you Mr. Schiff

  • Anyone know what the picture in the backround is?

  • Audio is not good enough. Impossible to listen to.

  • Thanks Peter.

Who cares about the mic, it's perfectly audible.

  • Stop criticizing him for the sound issue without praising his message as well. He touched on a few things that are important, namely that the fed had to buy treasuries. It didn't do it just to keep rates low like it had a choice. Also, we're asking China to increase its purchase of treasuries exponentially, which is also important and why they won't.

  • Yay the sound is mint Peter Nice!!

  • Always great to hear from Peter, but the audio quality could be much better.

  • The ones in power will only do the right thing last and try every form of Keynesianism first. Even if voted out of power they are replaced with Keynes-lite politicians, aka Republicans. Without some sort of revolution of some type it`ll just be business as usual as the ignorant voters cannot distinguish and have no concept of the two competing economic theories. The end of the USA is inevitable and the messiah is apropos for the times which is the beginning of the end of the USA.

  • good commentary, thanks.

with the governments giving make-work jobs, handouts and printing money i think its only a matter of time before inflation picks up! (I figure it will happen when people stop hoarding cash, ie when the velocity of money increases)

  • I dont look at him when he talks, just listen. Something is wrong with his setup...

  • Can someone please send peter a new microphone, he obviously can't afford one.

He skips a big part of the reason why they (china) have so many dollars and that is the fact that they are manipulating their own currency and keeping it too low and nobody can compete with them and it causes inflation of their own money supply (I read that, I don't really understand why). The next thing China says it that "Now is not the right time for change". But Obama is bound and determined to destroy the USD.

  • Someone needs to get with Peter during the week and practice videos with him, getting his audio corrected. It's absolutely horrible, for whatever reason, and is very distracting. Peter's words are too important to be lost on a bad audio. This problem occurs in each of his videos, and is actually getting worse.

Please, somebody sit with him and help him get it right. It can't be that hard...so many good-sounding amateur videos on YouTube. Peter can afford/do much better.

  • GET YOUR AUDIO FIXED!!!!

do you ever actually listen to your videos?

  • government is evil and that is why the founding fathers tried to limit that evil with a repulican form of government.

  • Thanks

and Pete get a good MIC pleseeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • It would be easier (and more accurate) to count the number of people in the country who ARE working a permanent full time job, and then divide that number by the total population.

Rather than looking at the number of people filing for official unemployment. Obviously that number is a fraction of the total.

I'd say only half of the US is working a permanent full time job right now.

  • the unemployment numbers that we use can only be used when referenced to itself, its like a scale that's off by 7 lbs, you still know whether you are gaining or losing weight by using the scale.

  • True, but just imagine how mad you'd be if you met a girl online whose profile said she was 120 lb and then you met her and she was really 160 lb. Even if she uses the same scale every day to weigh herself, and it's always out by the same amount, it sure can be misleading to others.

  • Thats why pictures are worth a thousand words. And a live video cam is worth ten thousand.

  • People who reject a human caused warming now think things happen in 'cycles' without any explanation.

Wrong. As I said below, all climate changes had causes.

But when millions of years have passed, it's hard to know exactly what they were...thus, one may apply a statistical model to a longterm limited data set. But the statistical model isn't the explanation. It's what you apply when you don't have direct observation. The cause is 'unknown' not a 'random variation'

  • That was a cute squeak schiff.

  • Global Warming is a lie that's going to end up killing most of us.

  • I figured it out one day, it hit me suddenly and it really scared me.

Global warming is their code word for overpopulation. The chem trails are a solution to their Global problem because its designed to kill us!

  • peter i love your video blogs and i watch you everyday. i think your spot on with your insight in regards to our economy, but i think that some things are more important than our economy. no matter what the dollar costs are, for now, fixing health care and the energy crisis (climate change) is mankind's real battle for this decade. this economy needs to grind to a halt, so that we can fix the engine before we start it again.

    just my thoughts

  • Rcoh,

You are on the right track by looking for fundamentals, but health care, energy and climate are not fundamentals. The fundamentals involve morality. Morality is a code of principles that guide a man's actions. After you know how a man should act, you can decide whether or not is ok to take money from some people in order to pay for the health care of others. You can decide whether or not human prosperity can exist without the protection of property. Read Atlas Shrugged, #18 on Amazon

  • Perfect response Talamanca. Ditto.

Rcoh, We don't have a health-care problem. We have a govt. interference problem.

We don't have a "climate change" problem. We have a propaganda problem. I'm still waiting for someone to explain how it was so warm in the past that there was NO POLAR ICE at one point, and then it was so cold in the past that NY was supposedly under hundreds of feet of ice, but MAN causes 'climate change.'

  • Historical times of ice loss had causes. We just weren't around to observe them. Differences in the Earth's tilt or volcanic activity, among other possibilities. We would have been able to pinpoint them,

had we been there. They would have been obvious.

Aside from human acvitity, there is no explanation currently. If you have one, post it.

You think past cycles just happened without any explanation. Not true. We just can't, after 10s of millions of years, identify the exact cause now.

  • Jay,

I kind of think of it this way, if I was born with a cancer gene, would I just ignore it? Maybe we are naturally heading down the path of global warming, do you think that we should help to speed that process up?

  • Tala,

Morality is exactly my point, money means nothing if we do not take care of our people and our planet. Money comes down to the exploitation or sharing of the earths resources, should a few get fat while the rest starve? Its a perplexing argument, put the brightest on the shoulders of the world, or shoulder the future of the world on the brightest.

  • Rcoh-

"Its a perplexing argument, put the brightest on the shoulders of the world, or shoulder the future of the world on the brightest. "

It is immoral to force a burden on anyone. Bright, common, rich or poor. We are all equal in that we have the same natural rights. Freedom from physical force.

The either or ultimatum is false. It is not sacrifice humanity for welfare of the brightest or sacrifice the brightest for humanity. Let everyone hold up their own world and trade.

  • What is with that noise at the start of the video?

  • Peter's been known to let out a cute little squeal before speaking...

  • Schiff leaned back in his chair.

  • Peter,

I've read that China will be purchasing gold from IMF as a way of raising the 1 trillion dollars to help the emerging markets, as pledged by the G20. If that happens, what's the ramifications?

  • Short term: to suppress the gold price and make the dollar look less weak.

Long term: to shift wealth from the US to China and create a gold standard.
