SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE-It is a real good movie, ofcourse made for the global audience. But back here in india the movie didnt click with the general audience. The reason being the film just shows what real India is all about. It is just like holding a mirror to the audience and showing back what we see. But yes i did enjoy the movie, a slumdog becoming a millionaire and the happy ending of Jamal and Latika. Hey and it is not a bollywood movie. An oscar worthy movie definitely.

I think you misundestood what SteveHarper was saying. Its true, people who have darker skin need more lighting. It has nothing to do with appreciating colors in the normal contrast, it has to do with film exposure and how light reflects off the skin. He's not talking about extra lighting to change the skin color.The darker the skin, the closer you need to be to the light. Without good lighting you'd lose a lot of detail. Yes, it's eaiser to see brown, but you also have to film it differently.

You don't need extra lighting equipment to show brown well unless in a dark background. Incidentally, you need extra lighting equipment to expose any skin correctly in a dark background. That's something Indian cinematographers excel at. You can take some lessons from some renowned Indian cinematographers if you are that curious.
