FINALLY, someone post the chests to avoid!! I've been looking everywhere for this vid, and even an FAQ or 2, or a damn map!! This'll be the 4th time I've replayed this game. Even though FFXIII is out (and I have it), I still consider 4, 9, &12 to be the best of the series. X was a TOTAL rip of Star Ocean: Till the End of Time, so I don't count it.
You do realize that FFX was made 2 whole years before Till the End of Time?
It was also first published by Squaresoft, (before it became Square-Enix). Till the End of Time was published by Square-Enix, so that right there should have told you that X came before that Star Ocean.
@ZhadoxFlamez Yes I actually do. HOWEVER, Star Ocean was originally in development and production but was pushed back because of "budget issues" that turned out to be bogus. The real reason was so that FFX would be marketed first then the SO: TTEoT came out later, and to ensure that a succesful franchise's name would continue to gain support and sales. But I still stand by my argument...X was a total rip and still sucks (cept Auron, he was like the Judd Nelson of that game!).
Seeing as how ENIX was the copyright holder AND developer of Star Ocean, it was unrelated to Final Fantasy at that time.
So even IF Till the End of Time was in development, it would be developed by Enix, and it would even give more reason to release it, especially since Enix had nothing to do with Squaresoft.
@ZhadoxFlamez Nein, I read it clear as daylight. Think about it in terms of Duke Nukem forever. That game has literally been stalled for 10 years!! And on account of what, the company goes under, licenses get stalled delayed and other madness. The same thing was done to Star Ocean he~llo!! Square simply didn't change names but staffing as well, so if you're able to stall the development of a game AFTER label changes and what not, you can get away w/back logging a lesser game. Now you follow me?

no worries, need anymore help just ask, the zodiac spear mayb the strongest but is only a big help if u get it early on, later in the game at great crystal excalibur is best by far as most enemies from then on are holy-weak, zodiac spear seems good for like yiazmat and non elemental foes.
In the royal palace, theres a room with 2 or 3 chests, in each corner, dont open the one in the southeast of your map, so face the north using the map and just dont open the one on the right, you can get zodiac spear in henne mines much later, so not all is lost! but its much harder to get then.
yea sorry, if u need anymore help just ask, ive just completed almost every side quest and mark, im on yiazmat now, and only have ultima esper to get.
If you flee, your evasion doesn't count, even if you have main gauche and a great shield. Just turn off Attack gambits, or gambits in general, to run with fewer interruptions. (Don't ever flee!) D:

I got all knots of rusts instead of the spear. Does that mean I messed up? Should the spear be a 100% drop?

I also got the Zodaic spear in my 40-50s with this method years ago, i just fired up the old ps2 and will try it again, thanks for the refresher

Maybe you didn't read it right.
Square was SquareSOFT at that time.

Squaresoft didn't know squat about Till the End of Time until TWO YEARS AFTER FFX's release when they performed the merger.
My point is, how the hell is FFX a ripoff of Till the End of Time, if no one but Enix would know about distinct details about it?
How could Till the End of Time be delayed FOR FFX by Square if they hadn't yet merged?
