anyone who has a problem with this commercial shouldn't call themselves "pro-choice." bitching about people not liking abortion means you're not respecting their choice, you're now pro-abortion.
The reason it is controversial is because the powers that be don't want dissent from the agenda:
abortion to fix population issues leading to too many resources consumed, global warming (better reduce people), and other state driven "facts". They are all intertwined to mother Earth worship. It is trying to assert itself as the dominant religion in the world. They of course will deny it, but they don't want competing "world view" or "religions". So world view = religion.
@graysonTW And they have the choice to abort the baby as well. Pro-Choice supporters believe its a women's right to chose whether they want to have the baby or not. Well, I should say TRUE Pro-Choice supporters, because there are many people that wear the "Pro-Choice" label the way you mention. As a Christian, I'm against abortions, but I don't believe the government can tell you whether or not you can or cannot have an abortion.
@KnightOwl2006 The choice about abortion is the only choice in the discussion. The problem that the pro-choice groups have is that pro-"life" groups want to remove that choice from any consideration. As long at that choice is present, they have no complaints.
if tebow really isn't ashamed of their pro life position, why do they dance around the point so much in the commercial. Also, he sacks his friggin mom in he commercial
I like how news people always put religious people under the microscope like there is something wrong with having faith. But I think the main question was about living and dieing his faith. Does the news guy believe in anything to die for it?
isn't the point of PRO CHOICE is that you get to choose what you want to do? so what 's the difference between choosing to keep the baby or choosing to abort it?
the guy is way off. first, tebow wasn't born in malaysia, he was born in the Philippines. 2nd, tebow doesn't have a religion. Having a religion is not the same as having a relationship with Christ.
'conservative christian group'?.....just as scary as taliban. Fundamentalists of whatever persuasion are dangerous. Justification to marginalize people rather then bring them together. This is why people fear the USA....they subject the rest of the world to people like Bush and then they wonder why the rest of the world distrusts them. Separate religion from politics and then talk to me.
wow what do womens groups have against focusing on family, are these groups against families being together? whats wrong with a commercial supporting family? do these women, sorry i mean bitches groups want families torn apart?
im a fan of tim tebow off the field but one of the loudest times iv cheered is when he got knocked out vs uk (i was there)
@FlyinSpaghettiMnstr7 FOX broadcasting network and Fox News are two different things idiot but i guess you are too intellectually stupid to listen to either
It's funny how they describe the ad as "Anti Abortion" instead of the using the "Pro Life" rhetoric. Yet, you almost NEVER hear abortion groups described as "PRO ABORTION"-they actually hate that, and will tell you they are not necessarily pro abortion as they are pro choice. So its automatically being painted in a 'negative' light.
To be honest, I think abortion is just a very civilized way of killing an innocent human being. Albeit a very tiny one, but one who is still living.
1% of all abortions occur because of rape or incest; 6% of abortions occur because of potential health problems regarding either the mother or child, and 93% of all abortions occur for social reasons (i.e. the child is unwanted or inconvenient).
@Jackthod Someone said 56% are because of Rape?!?! Considering 1 in 4 (give or take) pregnancies end in Abortion so that means that at least 13% of Pregnancies are because of Rape (Not the mention that all women wont abort). Also take into account that Women are not fertile the entire month, and about half of rapes fail to penetrate (so lets say 1 in 10 result in pregancy (a VERY high estimate)
Annually there is about 4,000,000 Births. a 56% Statistic suggests there are more Rapes than Births!
I agree with your stance that abortion is a symptom of other problems. However, this does not justify or excuse abortion. If you perceive a problem as bad, then its symptoms must be as well. Any attempt to divert attention from abortion by giving a related problem shows a lack of logic. That's like saying that stealing isn't wrong just because we are in an economic slump. What am I doing about it? Well, my family has started to support the local crisis pregnancy center.
We resent that the value of a woman is determined by whether some man wants us, yet we declare that the value of an unborn child is determined by whether someone wants him. We resent that as women we have been 'owned' by our husbands, yet insist that the unborn are 'owned' by us. We believe that a man's right to do what he pleases with his own body cannot include the right to sexually exploit women, yet proclaim a our similar right means we can kill our unborn child
So jerking off must = genocide right ? Also a woman just having her period = murder right ?
Oh that's right sperm and egg kind of have to meet while raw doggin.
So why does "the Church" hate Condoms if blowing a load or rubbing yourself out isn't murder ?
Not all retards are typical right wingers but all right winger are retards.
And your Jesus married a whore b4 he was tortured, died, then managed to come back to life, then managed to go into outer space, to buy the time for his return.
@HowardSternn LOL wow, Ok howie, throwing that stat out there is a little much. Tell you what, you cite your source on that particular scrap of info and then it might be semi-legit.
Big credit to tebow to make an ad with a topic that has so much controversy. He is just trying to suggest his point of view, without any aggression at all. I am pretty sure most of us wouldn't have the bravery to make an ad like that to millions of Americans
Brilliant ad!! The pro-abortion nuts made such a fuss (about nothing) that everyone took notice and got the point. They didnt even have to say the word abortion. Can anyone say; BACKFIRE? Brilliant just brilliant! LOL!
Why do people get so angry when they hear about someone who decided not to get an abortion? Since when has keeping a baby been the wrong decision? The commercial tells a good story. It's getting so much flack because it makes such a good point. She kept her baby and he grew up to win the heisman trophy. If she had aborted him, this would not have happened.
@Indigo327 People get angry when they feel they are being manipulated. Don't you? This television advertisement was produced to manipulate the thoughts of the millions of sheep watching moder day gladiators throw a pigskin ball and running with it. The person paying for the ad has an agenda without really saying it. The agenda is to take away a women's right to choose whether or not she can keep or abort a fetus. That is why intelligent people are angry about it.
@Indigo327 I don't have anything wrong with people who don't have abortions. But I do have to say I don't respect those who don't allow those who know they cannot take care of a child to have an abortion.
I think that a woman has the right to say if she wants a child or not. Forcing her to do so means that you are forcing that person to take care a child despite not being able to handle a kid!
@jilijub Forcing her to have a kid doesn't mean she has to take care of it. She could find a family member who could or she could put it up for adoption. Being unable to take care of a child does not give you the right to kill it.
@Indigo327 Not all children get adopted. It's a fact. And that is like giving that child a world of suffering. Please do not reply. I'm done with this subject.
Yeah it's amazing how quickly people react to bash him. And for what??...........because hes strong in his beliefs an treats everyone he comes across with respect and hes humble? On top of that hes a great football player/athlete. Its just sad watchin people spend all their time downgrade and belittle him, when hes not the one with the problems....
@UFNation1 The really hilarious part is that no one is realizing the significance of what he's NOT doing, which is getting stoned, thrown into jail, shooting someone, packing unregistered firearms, killing dogs, etc., he's actually standing up for something he believes in. Get a freaking job people. Would you rather he got caught with a hooker? Good Lord, kids could use a role model like Tebow.
When did he say he was a celebrity? When did he say it was all about him? Actually hes one of the mosr humble guys, I've met him. He doesnt ask for all of that limelight, the media builds it. I didnt see Tebow in here saying he was, i think it was the girl on this segment that said those words. Its not like Tebow called her an said, "Hey can u throw in there that I'm a celebrity during your broadcast, thanks."
Don't you find it odd that people point out that he isn't a celebrity within a negative context? As if it is the most virtuous thing in the world to be famous. Also, have you noticed how many automatically label someone with the type and level of values as Tim as "arrogant" or the like? Today if you are of a certain "value system" or mindset and outspoken, then you are "strong" and "bold." If you are Christian, straight, and hold your sexuality sacred, then you are pompous.
This coverage by FOX is skewed. The people discussing it only stated reasons why it should be allowed, and when they spoke to someone from NARAL they mistakenly said CBS has rejected similar ads in the past. Then they only gave attention to peoples' opinions from the web that support it. They didn't get to the real nitty gritty of the argument, which is that "Tebow's story" as presented on the FOTF website is untrue. He may have more of a right to tell his story if it was a true story.
Considering that abortion is illegal in the Philippines, and has been for a very long time, this whole ad is based on a lie. No doctor would have told Ms. Tebow to have an abortion, he would have been arrested for even suggesting it, and if he did it, both he and she would have been jailed.
Someone please tell me that the Tebow SB ad was altered or something! Was that what all the fuss was about? Is the pro-"choice" crowd really that childish (no pun intended) and defensive?!
There's a philosophical issue surrounding the potential life idea. Killing a fetus seems wrong because you're killing a potential human. I'm obviously glad my mother didn't have an abortion. But if she had, I wouldn't be alive to care, and was never alive to begin with, so would it have really mattered? If the argument that a potential life is being killed is used, is that not the same as arguing that killing a sperm or egg is bad because you're destroying the person they could have created?
I am suprised more atheist are not pro-life. To an atheist an abortion ends that person's only chance at existence. Unlike in theist there is no consolation that their soul in preserved. There is a growing minority of Pro-life atheist, like Christopher Hitchens
If I were the embryo and had the choice to live my life on Earth for maybe 60 years and have only a dollar to my name I would chose that over being nothing if there is no god and no afterlife. I could at least have the possibility of making something of myself during that time. Wouldn't you if you were given the choice?
Lets be honest there is unlikely to be a god... I think everyone should have a choice, especially if both the kid and its mother would have a bad time of it (financial for instance) then abortion should be an option
@qwertyfuture There's more chance that there's a God than there is that the universe and everything in it was spontaneously created from nothing. It's amazing that people always talk about "the laws of nature", but one of the key laws of nature is that something can't come from nothing.
You have to pay to play! I know 15 year old girls that step up and be a mom and I know 23 year old women that have the baby and put them up for adoption! STEP UP YOU WHORES! and the women of America activists ... WTF they are just pissed that they didn't think of it in the first place!
Dear M(r)s. Lisa, you don't think football needs to get political huh? Millions have been given to political campaigns from NFL teams and players over the years...it's already political.
As you will probably see me write, abortion is about the loathing of any form of behavior restriction on the individual (even if that restriction protects the innocent). Your message is based on logic, something the pro-"choice" crowd diverts at all cost.
Christians Organizations are a fundamental paradox. Having lobbyists and millions of dollars is incongruent with the teachings of the Bible, and the words of Jesus himself,"it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God." Any capitalist Christian is a hypocrite, and will, according to their own doctrine, be damned.
Thank God all proabort nations are dying out - but too stupid to know! LOL They are getting what they gave - death!
ONlya CATHOLIC STATE will resist your demographic wipeout and islamisation at the hands of idiot secular governance!! Only the good survive - thank God!!
Funny how liberals consider themselves 'open minded' when they criticized the commercial before it even aired..? A little hypocritical, don't you think?
what ticks me off is... You say you are pro choice.. but when it comes for pro lifers to have a CHOICE in putting a commercial on tv... that would be "wrong" but murdering a baby... no there is nothing "wrong" with that... according to pro choicers.
How do you know life is created as soon as they meet? I don't think it's possible for consciousness to exist without a brain. If you're religious, then consciousness is like the soul. If the baby didn't have a soul yet, then what would be wrong with killing it? You'd be killing nothing but matter.
Honestly, yes. I do think it would be okay to kill someone who isn't conscious, who doesn't feel anything and has no awareness. It would be no worse than demolishing a house.
There is no argument since we disagree about the existence of God to begin with. You think consciousness starts at conception, and I think it's most likely that it doesn't. There isn't really a way to prove either way, so the argument is over.
If you believe that consciousness does exist during the stage in which babies are aborted, then I can't argue with you. If I knew that fetuses were conscoius during the abortion stage, I'd be pro-life too. I'm pro-choice because I find it way more likely that they aren't conscious. I need to research brain development in the womb before I'll let myself conclude anything for certain though.
Most abortion clinics allow abortions up to 16 weeks of pregnancy on week 7 is when the nervous system starts to develop and they senstation of feeling. By week 13 Its fully functioning. Ad there are alot of studies about the "silent crys" of late term abortions. It's sad but we are ALL held accountable for our own actions And no one can choose for another what they believe but To me the ad was positive and just life. How many sex ads or beers ads did you see? lol Kids see those too~
no you are spreading false information. The cerebral cortex which is responsible for processing any kind of sensation starts to develop from week 19 on. Before that the moves are only reflexes. The embryo starts to process information (including pain) after week 19.
I am against abortions that happen after that. But I am definitely pro-choice before that. And in case of life threatening medical conditions the mother comes always first, needless to say.
I can tell no one in the discussion was for allowing the commercial to air and they likely follow the mindless politically correct notion that if you are not pro-abortion you should not be heard. In other words: The only acceptable choice is the choice we tell you to make, not the one you feel is right for you.
I'm not sure what Mrs. Tebow's illness was that she contracted...perhaps a virural infection that might cause birth defects. I would suspect that the doctors told her that under those circumstances, abortion could be considered as an option, but I doubt that abortion was recommended. I have worked in obstetrics for 35 years, and I find that most often, abortion is discussed as one option rather than that it is recommended. .
That one man said, super religous like it is a bad thing Tebow just loves God what is wrong with this world, that ad was great....................watch it
It is a Pro Life . NOT Anti Abortion . It is a Story about their Story. And What their Choice Was. So if you say you are Pro Choice them what is the problem.
I think it depends on the intention behind the commercial. At first, I didn't make the connection with abortion at all. But now I do, and if it was made with the purpose to pursuade people not to abort, then it is an anti-abortion ad.
A precious gift from god deserves a chance to live, no one has a right to murder a child... There is no difference If the baby was out side the womb. Little angels did not ask for there brians to be suck out... How about we do that to be who get the abortions and to evil doctors that perform it... They just leave the poor babies in a towel to cry to death , and the are still alive and breathing for hours.. My friend is a nurse she has see one to get her Rn she cried the whole time! It's MURDER
Sure, this is an aweful ad, let's sell more beer and sex--just what America needs--not a celebration of love and life. And it was not anti-abortion. It was pro-life/love.
It's rumored that next year Planned Parenthood will have an ad running to add some perspective to this debate. There will be no audio, only a still photo of Barbara Bush and her son George. They expect that the ad will generate millions for the non -profit group.
@shamandaveseven Another rumor is they will pay millions of inner-city teenagers to say how thankful they are to PP for giving them as many abortions as they needed. Funny how our tax dollars fund this vital "non-profit" group.
actually, though they cannot feel pain at this point... human life begins at the moment of conception because at that point it has growth, metabolism, and reaction to stimuli.. the three things that make a life.
i love how they call it an anti-abortion add rather than a pro-choice add. it said NOTHING against abortion it simply showed how one woman chose life and it worked out well for her
A woman sees that ad, has a medical condition that would recommend abortion, but she decides against that abortion and dies. Wouldn't you say that the choice was a bad one?
Is any of you big hearted conservatives aware of the fact that a woman can die when she makes the wrong choice? How dare we influence women in taking more risk than normal? A normal pregnancy is dangerous enough by itself. Why are we encouraging women to take even more risks?
Embryo = tiny woman (or man) Who are we to decide which one lives or dies? God has a plan for all of our lives and the lives of those he lets us care for. If his plan is for one of us to die we can't stop that by killing someone he has trusted us to protect. Doctors can't say with any amount of certainty that a woman will die if she carries her baby to term. Some things need to be left to God. We need to stop playing God and let him decide what is best for us and our children/embryos.
No, god has no plan for us. Start taking some responsibility for your life and actions.Stop looking for excuses and explanations by bringing up the invisible man in the sky.
So, according to you there is no god...and I assume no afterlife as well? I read from your previous posts that you would not abort a baby once he/she can feel pain, but before that it's ok to deprive that person from a life here on Earth. Am I coming to the wrong conclusions?
I don't know if there is a god or an afterlife. But we have that in common, you know? You don't know either.
And really what does it matter if there is a god or an afterlife? We are here now. That's all I need to know. Everything else belongs to your imagination. And why should I base my life on your imaginary world?
You are reducing a complex decision to simple terms. You seem to be assuming that doctors are all-knowing. Don't they make mistakes?
More to the point, would you deny someone the opportunity to act selflessly if that is their choice? Is there ever a scenario where you woulg give your life for another and not dishonor the act by calling it a "bad choice"?
No of course I would not deny them the opportunity but I would not encourage them either.
I would not give my life for an unborn, no. Encouraging women to do so is on the same level as encouraging men to join the army.
It's the same philosophy really. Sacrifice your life for the supposed well being of society. I'm willing to sacrifice, alright. But nor my life for that of an unborn.
I understand. I wasn't attempting to argue. Quiter frankly, I'm not sure what I would do if faced with this choice. I know it would be very difficult. There are people who would give their life for the unborn and see this as protecting a life. I respect that conviction, but can't say I would do the same thing.
we need to change the law on abortion because its ok to kill a baby and it is not murder but if a woman that is pregnant and is in a car accident and both MOM and BABY die it will be a double vehicular homicide
myentourge where do you think we came from if there is no GOD ! why dont pro choicers make a commerical about abortions oh yeah they couldnt because they could not show babies getting their limbs cut off or other ways to kill babies
I had 2 abortions between 1977-1978 and when I finally wanted to have a child, I found out that the abortionist butchered me so much that I had a hard time carrying my child to full term. I ended up having him 2 1/2 months early. He was born with cerebral palsy and has had 9 major surgeries in his 19 years. Please don't have an abortion. There are so many other options. Choose life for your child.
Just because Philippine doctors don't allow abortion - doesn't mean that Mrs.Tebow's story is a lie. She may have been in contact with American doctors.
Pro-abortionists who complain about a woman CHOOSING to have her baby are complete hypocrites! They are basically arguing with themselves which is a clear demonstration of their need to be institutionalized!
Abortion is illegal in the Philippines, both now and in 1987 when Pam Tebow was there, even in cases of rape, incest and the mother's life being in danger. Doctor who do abortions go to prison for six years.
Pam Tebow is LYING when she says a Filipino doctor suggested an abortion. It would never happen.
This is another example of hypochristians bearing false witness as they love to do. It's also another example of fundy christians attacking catholics, who fundies consider "satanists".
Sad irony. Conservatives want to ban abortion to save babies while working endlessly against President Obama's public heathcare option which would have provided healthcare for pregnant mothers and their unborn children. Clear indication of how the conservative movement is really a corporate america movement and followers simple mindless drones working against their own economic self interest in the name of god. Marx was right, religion is the opiate of the masses
I see all these comments about the left saying choosing life is wrong. WTF? This is common propaganda from people with black and white views. The ultimate word is CHOICE, the base of "choosing". Somehow these people seem to have forgotten the pro-life stance of TAKING AWAY choice. That is the true argument here. If you can actually find someone who argues against anyone having a baby at all, they were probably meant for Darwinian extinction.
You may not like his comment, but what were fundy christobot missionaries doing in a catholic country? They were proselytizing, trying to pervert catholics to being porn again hypochristians.
Fundamentally retarded christians consider catholics to be "satanists". That's why the Tebows were there.
See my other comment on this: Filipino doctors would never suggest an abortion, let alone do one. They would go to prison, and Filipinos are hardcore catholics who are staunchly against abortion.
I really don't see why the pro choice movement keeps flipping out when the pro life is exercising their RIGHTS to show this commercial. Pro choice could make a commercial if they wanted to but they don't completely agree with the people who are saying Pro choice is really being Pro abortion. They don't advertise the woman's right to choose life only death.
First of all, good job for setting an example of tolerance of other beliefs!
Just because Pam Tebow was in the Philippines doesn't mean that a doctor wouldn't tell her to have an abortion. From Wikipedia, "One study estimated that, despite legal restrictions, in 1994 alone, there were 400,000 abortions performed illegally in the Philippines' And learn to spell, it is Jesus not "jeebus" (I don't care if you were being sarcastic or not)
Great job on setting an example of tolerance of other people's beliefs!
One study estimated that, despite legal restrictions, in 1994 alone, there were 400,000 abortions performed illegally in the Philippines. Don't you think that a doctor might have suggested to Pam Tebow that she murder, I mean, "Abort" her child? Isn't possible that she is just telling the truth? Just think about it. (Oh, and don't call me close minded, because that would be very close minded of my views)
Im pro choice, why? because it allwos you pro lifers the choice to keep the fetus and it allows others the choice to terminate the pregnancy.
I have no problem with Jesus Jr having a commercial on during the super bowl. I do have a problem that they wont let a pro choice or gay man crunch ad.
funny how you call it a "fetus" when you talk about keeping the baby and a "pregnancy" when you talk about aborting it. it's probably easier for you to swallow that its only a "pregnancy".
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
because thats what it is. It isnt a baby, it isnt alive until it is born. "Birth date" The term fetus is what the thing is. I will call it a baby when it can sustain life outside the womb. Listen if you dont want to have an abortion dont, just dont stop others from making their own decision.
So the fetus' lifes destiny is in the hands of a doctor, a boyfriend, a mother.
This unborn baby (a fetus as you refer),
probably has a different blood type than the mother, (Mother could be B and baby can be O+) and yet, if you transfuse a different kind of blood to the mother it can be fatal.
So that said (written) really discards any naive notion that the "fetus" is part of the mothers body.
Not to mention, a heart, limbs, brain..oh, and....did I mention soul?
how do you know it has a soul? You dont just like you dont know for sure if there is a god. This is your belief not fact. It doesnt have a heartbeat until week 6. its not even a fetus until after week 8. Like I said before, you have your choice to not have an abortion that is fine with me and any pro choicer. Just dont try to change the law to stop others from having their own choice to do as they feel is right for themselves. Not everyone has your beliefs so why should they do what you want?
You said you will call it a baby when it can sustain life outside the womb. Well I have seen a 19 week old baby sustain life outside the womb in the icu. So do you still think its ok to abort then. I'm curious, where do you draw the line?
If the fetus has a heart beat, (begins at 9 week) or if it has brain waves,(begins at 13 weeks) then it is alive and can feel when the vacuum is used to suck them out of their mothers womb by tearing them limb from limb
If you want to know the truth
Watch "The Silent Scream", on youtube, which is a video of an abortion done by the founder of NARAL
Fetus is a stage in a humans life
Fetus, Infancy, Adolescence etc.
Once you feel a fetus moving in your stomach, you know that it is alive.
I always thought Pro-Choice meant one has the ability to choose life or abortion. It seems when life is chosen, a woman must be demonized by the ever-sensitive and forgiving LEFT! What is wrong with the Choice of LIFE" Why is it the wrong choice? Can any "pro-abortion" (that is what it really is) activist please explain this to us? Of course they can. Just not in any logical manner. Because there is no logic to a person making a choice of life according to you lefty idiots. Just get some brains.
agree! It seems all "pro-choice" activists are actually "pro-abortion", because if that person chooses life, they are not making the "right" choice! Crazy.
This is where I don't understand American democracy. Is it really democracy when it has a selfish agenda, watching a clip like this makes my skin crawl. So...you came to a conclusion that lack of business is what aired a commercial like this, NOT the commitment of people trying to save lives. Shame on you.
The main problem with the ad is that Tim's mother claims that her doctors in the Philippines advised her to do abortion, while abortion was illegal in the Philippines since 1930s. That makes this ad a LIE!!! Spread the word!!
actually that doesnt make it a lie.. there are exceptions to the law made every day. Abortion is technically illegal in Spain but there are loopholes that make the law practically meaningless and in the USA late term abortions are only legal in case of health problems, but that can include anything and as ron fitzismmons of NARAL admitted, most partial birth abortions were being done on healthy women and healthy babies, NOT on deformed babies like NARAL stated to congress in their testimony.
americans...

anyone who has a problem with this commercial shouldn't call themselves "pro-choice." bitching about people not liking abortion means you're not respecting their choice, you're now pro-abortion.
rockettransam911 2 weeks ago
The reason it is controversial is because the powers that be don't want dissent from the agenda:
abortion to fix population issues leading to too many resources consumed, global warming (better reduce people), and other state driven "facts". They are all intertwined to mother Earth worship. It is trying to assert itself as the dominant religion in the world. They of course will deny it, but they don't want competing "world view" or "religions". So world view = religion.

obviously a pregnant women has the choice to GIVE BIRTH to her baby!
pro-choice=pro-abortion! the "choice" is all about ABORTION! no one is fooling anyone on the issue!

@graysonTW pro-life really is the correct word
NedOS1013 6 months ago
@graysonTW And they have the choice to abort the baby as well. Pro-Choice supporters believe its a women's right to chose whether they want to have the baby or not. Well, I should say TRUE Pro-Choice supporters, because there are many people that wear the "Pro-Choice" label the way you mention. As a Christian, I'm against abortions, but I don't believe the government can tell you whether or not you can or cannot have an abortion.

It is their CHOICE and you of all people stand for "choice".

That commercial satisfies both camps. The PRO-LIFE people and the PRO-CHOICE people. Anyone who gets mad about that ad is illogical and crazy.

Why women have abortions
1% of all abortions occur because of rape or incest; 6% of abortions occur because of potential health problems regarding either the mother or child, and 93% of all abortions occur for social reasons (i.e. the child is unwanted or inconvenient).
So I dunno where you getting this 56% by rape.
Jackthod 1 year ago 5

Indigo327 1 year ago 26
@Indigo327 People get angry when they feel they are being manipulated. Don't you? This television advertisement was produced to manipulate the thoughts of the millions of sheep watching moder day gladiators throw a pigskin ball and running with it. The person paying for the ad has an agenda without really saying it. The agenda is to take away a women's right to choose whether or not she can keep or abort a fetus. That is why intelligent people are angry about it.
ch1aka2 1 year ago
@Indigo327 I don't have anything wrong with people who don't have abortions. But I do have to say I don't respect those who don't allow those who know they cannot take care of a child to have an abortion.
I think that a woman has the right to say if she wants a child or not. Forcing her to do so means that you are forcing that person to take care a child despite not being able to handle a kid!
jilijub 11 months ago
@jilijub Forcing her to have a kid doesn't mean she has to take care of it. She could find a family member who could or she could put it up for adoption. Being unable to take care of a child does not give you the right to kill it.

preacherbloke 1 year ago 2
This coverage by FOX is skewed. The people discussing it only stated reasons why it should be allowed, and when they spoke to someone from NARAL they mistakenly said CBS has rejected similar ads in the past. Then they only gave attention to peoples' opinions from the web that support it. They didn't get to the real nitty gritty of the argument, which is that "Tebow's story" as presented on the FOTF website is untrue. He may have more of a right to tell his story if it was a true story.
Jesstar828 1 year ago
CBS did not reject similar ads, they rejected ads with opposite politics. That's the root of the controversy.
Jesstar828 1 year ago
Considering that abortion is illegal in the Philippines, and has been for a very long time, this whole ad is based on a lie. No doctor would have told Ms. Tebow to have an abortion, he would have been arrested for even suggesting it, and if he did it, both he and she would have been jailed.

How many sex ads or beers ads did you see? lol Kids see those too~
musicalstudioMJ 1 year ago 2
@musicalstudio
no you are spreading false information. The cerebral cortex which is responsible for processing any kind of sensation starts to develop from week 19 on. Before that the moves are only reflexes. The embryo starts to process information (including pain) after week 19.
I am against abortions that happen after that. But I am definitely pro-choice before that. And in case of life threatening medical conditions the mother comes always first, needless to say.

sethbowers123 2 years ago
A woman sees that ad, has a medical condition that would recommend abortion, but she decides against that abortion and dies. Wouldn't you say that the choice was a bad one?
Is any of you big hearted conservatives aware of the fact that a woman can die when she makes the wrong choice? How dare we influence women in taking more risk than normal? A normal pregnancy is dangerous enough by itself. Why are we encouraging women to take even more risks?
slothmayhem 1 year ago
Every woman knows the risks of getting pregnant.
Andrew13b 1 year ago
Now you will tell me that a woman should be willing to die for her unborn child. What's the life of a woman anyway to that of an embryo?
slothmayhem 1 year ago
Embryo = tiny woman (or man) Who are we to decide which one lives or dies? God has a plan for all of our lives and the lives of those he lets us care for. If his plan is for one of us to die we can't stop that by killing someone he has trusted us to protect. Doctors can't say with any amount of certainty that a woman will die if she carries her baby to term. Some things need to be left to God. We need to stop playing God and let him decide what is best for us and our children/embryos.
mommyjessica83 1 year ago
Embryo=embryo
No, god has no plan for us. Start taking some responsibility for your life and actions.Stop looking for excuses and explanations by bringing up the invisible man in the sky.
slothmayhem 1 year ago
So, according to you there is no god...and I assume no afterlife as well? I read from your previous posts that you would not abort a baby once he/she can feel pain, but before that it's ok to deprive that person from a life here on Earth. Am I coming to the wrong conclusions?
mommyjessica83 1 year ago
I don't know if there is a god or an afterlife. But we have that in common, you know? You don't know either.
And really what does it matter if there is a god or an afterlife? We are here now. That's all I need to know. Everything else belongs to your imagination. And why should I base my life on your imaginary world?
slothmayhem 1 year ago
You are reducing a complex decision to simple terms. You seem to be assuming that doctors are all-knowing. Don't they make mistakes?
More to the point, would you deny someone the opportunity to act selflessly if that is their choice? Is there ever a scenario where you woulg give your life for another and not dishonor the act by calling it a "bad choice"?
Mikevdog 1 year ago
No of course I would not deny them the opportunity but I would not encourage them either.
I would not give my life for an unborn, no. Encouraging women to do so is on the same level as encouraging men to join the army.
It's the same philosophy really. Sacrifice your life for the supposed well being of society. I'm willing to sacrifice, alright. But nor my life for that of an unborn.
slothmayhem 1 year ago
I understand. I wasn't attempting to argue. Quiter frankly, I'm not sure what I would do if faced with this choice. I know it would be very difficult. I'll bet Mr. and Mrs. Tebow used the missionary position when they made Tim.

Thats a very narrow minded comment - the bible was the first book that contained adive on varied positions (Song of Solomon).

You may not like his comment, but what were fundy christobot missionaries doing in a catholic country? They were proselytizing, trying to pervert catholics to being porn again hypochristians.
Fundamentally retarded christians consider catholics to be "satanists". That's why the Tebows were there.

I wonder if the mother made the whole story up for her own motive. They christian missionaries after all.

Dmitch989 2 years ago
How about the fact that Pam Tebow is BEARING FALSE WITNESS, violating the ninth commandment? Or is lying for "jeebus" okay with you?
Filipino doctors in 1987 would never have suggested she have an abortion. It was illegal then and now.
zxcv1234vcxz 2 years ago

I do have a problem that they wont let a pro choice or gay man crunch ad.
myentourage 2 years ago
funny how you call it a "fetus" when you talk about keeping the baby and a "pregnancy" when you talk about aborting it. it's probably easier for you to swallow that its only a "pregnancy".

because thats what it is. It isnt a baby, it isnt alive until it is born. "Birth date" The term fetus is what the thing is. I will call it a baby when it can sustain life outside the womb. Listen if you dont want to have an abortion dont, just dont stop others from making their own decision.
myentourage 2 years ago
So the fetus' lifes destiny is in the hands of a doctor, a boyfriend, a mother.
This unborn baby (a fetus as you refer),
probably has a different blood type than the mother, (Mother could be B and baby can be O+) and yet, if you transfuse a different kind of blood to the mother it can be fatal.
So that said (written) really discards any naive notion that the "fetus" is part of the mothers body.
Not to mention, a heart, limbs, brain..oh, and....did I mention soul?
May God bless your LIFE
GottmitunsAlex 2 years ago
how do you know it has a soul? You dont just like you dont know for sure if there is a god. This is your belief not fact. It doesnt have a heartbeat until week 6. its not even a fetus until after week 8. Like I said before, you have your choice to not have an abortion that is fine with me and any pro choicer. Just dont try to change the law to stop others from having their own choice to do as they feel is right for themselves. Not everyone has your beliefs so why should they do what you want?
myentourage 2 years ago
Different blood types is not a belief, it's a FACT.
GottmitunsAlex 2 years ago
Im talking about it having a soul. You have no idea if there is even such thing as a soul. No one said anything about blood type.
myentourage 2 years ago
You said you will call it a baby when it can sustain life outside the womb. Well I have seen a 19 week old baby sustain life outside the womb in the icu. So do you still think its ok to abort then. I'm curious, where do you draw the line?
chattamify 2 years ago 2
If the fetus has a heart beat, (begins at 9 week) or if it has brain waves,(begins at 13 weeks) then it is alive and can feel when the vacuum is used to suck them out of their mothers womb by tearing them limb from limb
If you want to know the truth
Watch "The Silent Scream", on youtube, which is a video of an abortion done by the founder of NARAL
Fetus is a stage in a humans life
Fetus, Infancy, Adolescence etc.
Once you feel a fetus moving in your stomach, you know that it is alive.

Would it have been great if Mrs. Stern chose to abortion before January 12, 1954??? Now the choice that was made, was the "WRONG FUCKING CHOICE".
JunkMan16 2 years ago
I always thought Pro-Choice meant one has the ability to choose life or abortion. It seems when life is chosen, a woman must be demonized by the ever-sensitive and forgiving LEFT! What is wrong with the Choice of LIFE" Why is it the wrong choice? Can any "pro-abortion" (that is what it really is) activist please explain this to us? Of course they can. Just not in any logical manner. Because there is no logic to a person making a choice of life according to you lefty idiots. Just get some brains.
JunkMan16 2 years ago

Liberals say they're pro-choice, yet they're attacking Pamela Tebow because she chose not to abort her son.
StoogeWatcher 2 years ago
The main problem with the ad is that Tim's mother claims that her doctors in the Philippines advised her to do abortion, while abortion was illegal in the Philippines since 1930s. That makes this ad a LIE!!! Spread the word!!
3AMVideoz 2 years ago
actually that doesnt make it a lie.. there are exceptions to the law made every day.
