@636Castle There wasnt a tornado. Or a funnel. It was just a gust front, a common thing in the midwest. But it happens in new york and the pussies shit and piss their pants and cry 'tornado!'
yeah its still unconfirmed if there was a tornado but its most likey all just straight winds/ and microbursts but it could have been a weak, rainwrapped tornado i googled it lmao but microbursts can cause alot of damage cuz its a sudden, confined invisible, wind gust, burst in one concentrated section
wtf man that is in Brooklyn; i have seen tornados wipe whol towns off the map that little EF-0 was nothing, try out a EF-4 and see what happends. thoes things dont olny rip up trees they will rip the grass right out of the ground.
Skaterchick is correct. The other guys in Brooklyn were a little too jumpy. They should get sponsored to be storm chasers. They can freak out on camera if they see a big tornado.
Well, in NYC, this type of weather is rare, so when it does happen, of course we're gonna make a big deal about it. Our storms aren't as strong as the ones down south and in the mid-west.
but after studying and being able to think just a bit, i realized how much bullshit there's around.
can't believe there's people who criticize governments, claim that everything is controlled by corporations, etc etc etc... but they say the bible is sacred!
classic micro-burst good job on getting it on camera. its as rare as a tornado. one similar to this caused the dallas cowboys practice facility to collapse.
@xXPuR3ePicXx I actually live in new york thats how i got here to see some footage of how bad it was in brooklyn i live in queens and still it got really bad
So I live in South Dakota and it seems like common sense NOT to be standing near a window during a sever storm such as this... Why would this seem like a good idea?
So everyone knows, there was a severe line of thunderstorms moving through the NJ/NYC area at the time. There was indeed rotation imminent within this line, however that does not alone make for any conclusive ground-confirming evidence of a tor. The wind damage caused in this storm and several videos was from macroburst winds.
I like how people who sit around scratching their asses know more about meteorology than the National Weather Service and the meteorologists on the news who are looking at the doppler radar. But, if it so so important to you, OK, it wasn't a tornado, it was just 120 mph winds going around in a big circle with a green sky overhead. Feel better now?
@misspeaches251 I was in a storm in Syracuse that ripped entire walls and roofs off like a hurricane. NWS confirmed straight-line, apparently because all the fallen trees lay in the same direction. This storm was similar to that atrocity. NWS confirmed 125mph straight-line winds in Queens, but the tornadoes themselves covered small areas. They were only 75 yards wide, how could all of these videos from all over the city be a tornado? Unless people think it was one super, gigantic tornado.
Really good vid but I don't think that was a tornado. Tornado winds are in the hundreds of miles per hour. I think this was a real good old fashioned thunder storm. Btw if it were a tornado the pressure difference outside the window as compared to the inside would have destroyed the window and sucked u right out. The next time leave the camera recording and move to an interior room without windows and stand under a door jam
@kidsik3 Yeah! i remember from a documentary I watched on Tornadoes here on youtube (tornadoes the entity is what it was called) The narrator had mentioned "heavy objects can become essentially weightless in a tornado, it is a surreal sight when roofs begin to lift off homes and cars become airborne" Its really terrifying stuff. You should check out the documentary, just type in Tornadoes!! The Entity: Prelude, watch all the parts if you want :)
HOWEVER, now living in NEPA, folks here call wall clouds w straight-line wind tornados. This DID appear 2B a twister at some point, had it actually been on the ground though-believe me-you'd know it, and it would have been MUCH worse. Thank God it didn't-if it did, or got close, 4 a short period-you kids are VERY lucky!!
Hey guys, while I'm just a lil ole lady here, after living in Northern & Mid Al, Tennessee, & N Fl, (on Ga border), I've seen a few green sky's in my time-didn't exactly see that here. Also, when our home was blown apart by a '98 twister, the green sky, hail, silence-except 4 loud train sound preceded it-like the others.
Well I might have been saying "dude look at the tree" during the video, but that is because I live next door and it's my poor tree. Makes this a little hard to watch, the branches were everywhere but it's still standing, tho.
That's what these youtube idiots don't know. N.Y. is under tornado watch right now, or at least that's what the news is saying. These dummies hear tornado & expect Brooklyn to look like a scene from The Wizard Of Oz or something, it's amazing how ignorant people can be.
Wow, this was insane!! Lol, it got pretty bad there, but I'm guessing this was far from a tornado. It usually stops raining before a tornado comes thru. But in other vids u can clearly see the funel cloud so...... Ehh!!!
@legrassoistris06 u must not have been in NY, or outside for that matter! thats how it looks from inside, take it from someone who got caught in tht shit...no joke!!!it was a tornado!
What's the big deal? I don't see any kind of funnel shape tornado. I see the beginnings of one. Where is the hail?? In Texas there are always close calls like this along with actual tornados.
@followXtheXdot They're used to tall buildings, not tall collusive of wind. :)
You should see people out here in Los Angeles, they don't even know how to drive in a sprinkle let alone a snow storm or heavy downpour, tornado, etc....
this is tragic so I dont know why you guys are making fun of this. I mean one person died, and a freaking funnel cloud hit the ground in NEW YORK CITY. So stop making fun of this!
@Emochick56651- Had you actually done your research, you would have known that this thing started as a standard line of thunderstorms across the river from New York City. Just before hitting the city it exploded into the violent system we were hit with. No one had more than ten minutes to prepare and many who were commuting home from work didn't hear the warning at all.
Before you make assinine comments about people you don't know, be familiar with the circumstances.
