I saw AC/DC for the first time in concert at the Erwin Center, Austin, TX on 11/6/09 and it was the best concert I have ever been too. AC/DC played their first US concert at the Armadillo World Headquarters with Canadian band Moxy on 7/27/77. Texans love AC/DC!!!

This was filmed in England back in 1977 and the english media were parading AC/DC as an Australian punk band. AC/DC lasted longer than punk and were better than the english punk bands because they had the rebellious attitude as well but they also had something the english punk bands didn`t have, better musicianship. AC/DC continue on to this day whereas the clash and sex pistols are long gone.

@ManFromMelbourne I agree the Sex Pistols lacked in musicianship, though Steve Jones was not a bad guitarist, but The Clash still influence music every now and again in some form or another (paper aeroplanes). Clash was certainly better than Pistols as a whole. Punk was throwaway music but they were sometimes saying more than appeared on the surface.

@ashetonpop there are alot of other bands that were more important than the sex pistolsin the 70's. e.g led zeppelin (pretty much owned the world in terms of rock), pink floyd ('dark side of the moon' influenced everyone and 'the wall' had some of their most memorable songs, lynyrd skynyrd (i know they didn't do so well after the plane crash but free bird, simple man, sweet home... were incredible). punk was good, showed people that anyone could be in a band, but not necessarily a talented one

Sorry mate, I´m a huge AC/DC fan since 1977, but there were so many great UK Punk bands, the whole scene was fantastic and there was so much good music made then. Of course AC/DC weren´t Punk, so it´s difficult to compare them. Well, the Sex Pistols weren´t meant to last for 10, 20 Albums but still they marked the beginning of a whole great new era - AC/DC didn´t! No, you can´t say the Pistols are forgotten, really.
