that cosmic beach scene is too beautiful, makes me think of all the planets in our solar system, and those around our nearby stars: procyon, sirius, tau centaurus, bellatrix, fomalhaut, just to name a few of the locals.
Bubbles is in a places all by its self. Look, as you listen to it just lay back eye close and just let your mind run free an when the notes start to flow through your hear you will understand that Herbie Hancock is a master mind of musical jazz.
I think this is the direction that Jimi Hendrix was goin into especially with his last album First Rays of the New Rising Sun. Im glad that someone could pick up where he left off in terms of creative genius.
All those great sounds with those ARP analog synthesizers, the Rhodes Electric Piano, and Hohner D6 Clavanet - not to mention ther great musicianship of all the players.
@v2i2ks Just to make you purchase the same music over and over again as time passes....Funny thing is, the oldest technology is still the best!!!!!...............Peace H7
Impossible. The 808 is a 1981 gear and this album's from 1975. 808 is a great gear anyway, I've heard its kick could put down a building if its amplified very loud!
What a beautiful track. Bennie Maupin's thoughtful and sensitive playing on soprano, really make the track for me. The way he vibes off the keyboards and mood of the piece-awesome. Especially check out 5:23 up to about 5:35 ...I'm not sure if even Miles could have placed a single sound any better. :-)
I lost my virginity to this song.

@philosophersphone
The sound that starts at abou 4:53 is..I believe.. an APR Odysse using te filter and the portamento set high/fast.
Keyboardman88 2 years ago
Guys, what synth effect is Herbie using at about 4:03? The deep sound! I love that and I need to know what that is!

@BourneInDenver THe sound is a Hohnor D6 Clavinet set to the bassiest setting.
