I do believe that our law in the case of murder is flawed, I think there should be consecutive murder sentences, or at least more then 25 years, and I think unauthorised search warrants should be allowed, less people would get away with murder, sex slave trafficking, child pornography, etc.

Of all the criminals they arrest only a small number end up in jail. Add this to the fact that our federal government is starving a prison system that would need a much larger amounts of money to function correctly – that is to avoid overcrowding, among other things.

He just got released after serving 14 of his 22 years sentence (22 years!!). Best part is: he now resides in a transition center just next to his son’s flat and he’s under total protection so neither the population NOR his family can see his face or know his new ID. His victims must feel safe.

@guiguox It's not only the cops’ fault, it's our system that's full of flaws. Cops should be able to follow a hunch when it comes. As it is, too many pointless shit laws get in their way. Of all the criminals they arrest only a small number end up in jail. Add this to the fact that our federal government is starving a prison system that would need a much larger amounts of money to function correctly – that is to avoid overcrowding, among other things.

I do agree, but actually when they really want to, they fabricate the excuses necessary to a search warrant (i'm pretty sure that of the firearms whas sort of). As for the jail overcrowding, I'm not a real fun of throwing everybody in prison, but if no drug-related crime existed (possession, distribution, traffic etc) there'll be more room for scums and fuckwits like this 'farmer'.

If a guy's record is clean they can't just create reasons to suspect him out of nowhere. In the US, telling a cop to check on somebody is enough of a reason for them to actually do it. In Canada, unfortunately, it's not enough. You'd be surprised at how many leads aren't followed because they just can't find any legal reason to do so..

he will not get parole when the 25 years are up. public outcry can keep him in prison. they can classify him as a dangerous offender and keep him locked up indefinitely. i can write an essay on why he will never live outside again. perhaps us taxpayers will get lucky, and someone'll do us a favor and shank the fuker.

Considering the circumstances and her injuries I find it appalling that the victim's credibility should be in question. The fact that she was a prostitute and fell into drug addiction does not mean that the law should not apply to her as it applies to others. Outrageous! The police should have pursued a case against him.
