LOL, thanks for the compliment, but a quick YouTube or Flickr search will reveal a whole bunch of far better creations than I'm able to come up with! I have looked into it...you can make 3D designs and order the particular collections of bricks, but its prohibitively expensive, not worth it at all. The holidays were kinda boring, but I was making up for all the travelling I've done in the last year, so stuffing around with Lego at home was a welcome rest! Anyways, glad ya liked it!
Sounds awesome mate, It'll be great to have some more Southern rigs up on here! If you haven't seen them yet, user PaulieMac77 has some videos of Milton 537 in action, that's probably about the closest YouTube fire buff to you...
Thanks mate, and for the suggestion too! 397 is a nice rig, but it would be hard to build with Lego. The curves around the front window area and the odd-shaped wheel-wells would be impossible to get right in this scale. And thats what makes the Mitsubishi stand out, so I'd just end up with a generic-looking truck. :-/
I used to see an example of that model of Mitsi around Auckland as a relief truck (reg SO7799). I'm sure that classy "Turbo" badge shaves a few seconds off their 0-100k time, LOL!
Busted! There's only so much you can do with Lego I'm afraid, even as much as I have! I'm tempted to do a larger scale one so I can be more accurate, but I'm sure there's more important things I should be doing!
