Owned a 1997 1500 Z71 w/ a 350 vortec (personally one of my favorite trucks ever). The first time I really hammered on it, I felt like I was in a race car. Bought a 2008 5.7 iforce V8 Tundra 4X4. The first time I really hammered on it, I felt like I was strapped to a fuckin rocket ship. I loved my silverado, but it was the biggest pain in the ass to work on, and I don't mean mechanically. I mean cheap plastic pieces, wiring, and anything with a spring, knob, or needle was shot to shit.

@123abcpa Back in 2007 the Ford F150's best engine was the 5.4, but I do agree with you that they should have used a 6.2L Silverado instead of the 5.3, I just want to see a true un-biased comparison with these trucks with same options and good drivers, I am sick of everyone using the best equipped truck vs the competitors low or mid grade equipped trucks with shitty or biased drivers.

Stock chevy extended cab 6.2 runs 14.3s in hot weather. With 3.43 gears and 200miles on it brand new. Chevy 6.2s are the fastet truck made right now. Im not hating on other trucks, i got a 2011 5.0 ford truck. Not alot o vids of the 6.2 chevys on youtube. But ive seen it personally at the strip i go every month. It was my buddies truck he got it off the dealership and took it streight to the track. WOW!!
This proves that none of the stock competitors can outperform a stock Tundra. And the titan videos that neat the tundra are one of two things:the tundra is a 4.7, or the titan has mods. i dont know anything about truck mechanics so from the design prespective RAM and the Tundra are the less neutral and more interesting,i think the Tundra is a more light friendly design, the Dodge is more mean and robustm if i had money i wanted to buy one ill probably buy the RAM and modifedit to become the best truck of them all! The tundra frame is very flimys and they have rusted in half in the past, also the tundra gets terrible gas mileage, both ford and chevy get better gas mileage.

I own a remodeling/landscape business. I have owned all the brands tested. Toyota is the most efficient to operate price/operating cost.They need a diesel option.There is no 100% American made truck. Labor unions have driven up the cost of the Detroit based brands.I hope the trend reverses.

I have just been reading up on this and not sure if it was 2010 or 2011 and the Tundra was beating the others loaded when they weren't. Anyone know anything about the "flimsy" frame in the tundra? Some say bad for loaded others say it's good for load distribution???
@2stankornot2stank The Tundra does flex more than other brands,it is designed to do that. I regularly hail over 1.000 lbs in my Tundras (I have four) to job sites. In four years I have had no problems.

I love these types of videos...but why the hell am I always left wonder what engine and tranny all the rest had? This info is always left out to make one of the other look the best...let me guess? Dodge 4.7 chevy 5.3 ford 5.4 ofcouse titan 5.6 easy enough and tundra 5.7 obviously the the biggest engine.As much as trucks cost now a days it would be nice to see a more in depth comparison
@CrashJSTest In 2004 I went out to find the best truck for my money. I am not brand loyal my any means. I found the Titan to be the best all around truck. It towed more that any of the others and had the most touque down low were you need it. It was also the most fun to drive(fastest). I think they did a really good job for the first time making a full size truck. Far better then the 2004 ford 150 and ford has been making trucks for 60 plus years.

Stock chevy extended cab 6.2 runs 14.3s in hot weather. With 3.43 gears and 200miles on it brand new. Chevy 6.2s are the fastet truck made right now. Im not hating on other trucks, i got a 2011 5.0 ford truck. Not alot o vids of the 6.2 chevys on youtube. But ive seen it personally at the strip i go every month. @CrashJSTest In 2004 I went out to find the best truck for my money. I am not brand loyal my any means. I found the Titan to be the best all around truck. It towed more that any of the others and had the most touque down low were you need it. It was also the most fun to drive(fastest). I think they did a really good job for the first time making a full size truck. Far better then the 2004 ford 150 and ford has been making trucks for 60 plus years.

@karp1941 ya...in fact about 80% of the Turdra's parts are domestic content! too bad the frame, and major body, and suspension parts are foreign outsourced recycled chinese steel for long lasting durability! Meanwhile the F150 and GM's Dodge etc. are about 93% domestic content and more importantly major components. All the profit stays in the USA while the Toyota profit (margin is much larger due to labour cost and CHEAPER materials - less $ per unit manufactured) goes to Japan.

Actually Toyota has a bigger motor, bigger brakes, a bigger frame, a better transmission, better drivetrain, better mileage(Look at any Real world mileage)
more legroom and higher resale. Plus you can have your crap drum brakes, I'll take 4 wheel disks, a DOHC motor compared to 60 year old push rod SOHC and OHV motors. American made motors are pathetic. When are they going to join the rest of the world? DOHC motors have been out since the 80's and Ford still can't build them.

0-60 times mean nothing on a TRUCK. The real important thing in a truck is their strenght and both Ford and Chevy have the better frames on any truck. A real work truck is any of the big 3. A wannabe racer truck is a TOYota or a Nissan (which is probably going to be based on the current Ram for the next generation, I wonder why??).
Curiously enough it's very uncommon to see a Tundra loaded with a lot of stuff or hauling a trailer, but I see tons of Fords and Chevys doing so.
