...the fact that its dry has nothing to do with it, its just the fact that when you run the boiling water through it the K and NO3 dissolve out of the soil and run through the cloth filters. when you boil the water out it recrystallizes forming potassium nitrate. this is a very legitimate method, read a chem textbook if you dont believe me, but anyway you dont need to let it dry. the nitrates/potassium is there regardless of wetness.

Soil that has been saturated by any kind of urine(cow, pig, goat, etc...) is the best. If you can source stump remover from the hardware store, it can be re-crystallized into 100% pure potassium nitrate with less hassle.(no offense) Great vid!!!
