he must have hacked...every time i try this i jump on the 1st bodyguard, then when i jump to the second i jump, land between 1&2 move right and confront Mack. if you didnt hack how did you do this. if you have a game genie you can use the "Mario jumps ultra high" cheat to jump over everything...which he obviously DIDN'T do

I swear, when I was a kid first playing this game in 1996, I found a glitch that made Mallow join my team automatically and I was able to move on to Kero Sewers without the first Star Piece. I have no idea how it happened, and I haven't been able to replicate it since. I wish I could do it again; it's the ultimate Mack Skip in that he never even appears!

That's bull. The frame rate would do nothing to effect the game's programing. It DOES work, even though it's a bit more difficult to go through the game because you don't get the experience points from Mack.
