For me you need to play really hard at them, closing them down, pressing the balll really fast, and packing men behind the ball when they get anywhere near your goal, and hope for a good referee. Because obviously you dont need a stupid card happy ref when playing a hard tackling game. If you could hold out for maybe 75 or 80 minutes, then the crowd will be on their backs, and you could get a late winning goal.

@millard27 Spain beat the Czecks last night.So Scotland are still in with a chance of the play offs.Our next 3 games in the group are all there for the taking.And two are at home.Bye then when we play Spain,in the last game.They would have already qualified.And might play a few new players.To give them a try.And who knows if our lucks in.

@MrNeekappa They could play England with there 4th division playes and hump them.But they only beat us bye a goal,a dodgy penalty.We played really well when Charlie Adam came on.And we got two goals.The guys up for player of the year in the EPL.And rightly so he is the best passer of a ball out of all the British players.And this is his first season in that league.Playing with lesser players around him.Imagine what he could do with better players around him.At a bigger club like Pool,Utd,Villa?

@legandrydirk My comment, even though it sounded like it, wasn't a slight on Scottish football. Spain would also wipe the floor with us (England) too. It's a problem with British football in general. Spain doesn't have a 4th division, but you are basically right in what you are saying. There is a great problem with British football, and it needs sorting fast or, for me, ALL the British teams will struggle to qualify in future.

@MrNeekappa We play them again over there,the final group game of the season.And it should be in the heat of summer.I dont fancy it at all.But they would have qualified bye then.So might go a bit easier on us.But the heat is the killer.On top of them being a lot better than us.But we proved we can get at them.If we play to our max strengths.

@legandrydirk The heat could sure be a killer, it could potentially be 40 degrees. For me you need to play really hard at them, closing them down, pressing the balll really fast, and packing men behind the ball when they get anywhere near your goal, and hope for a good referee. Because obviously you dont need a stupid card happy ref when playing a hard tackling game. If you could hold out for maybe 75 or 80 minutes, then the crowd will be on their backs, and you could get a late winning goal.

@MrNeekappa We tried that at home.It was not till we were down.We actually went at them and ended up having them on the ropes.They sit of you,there happy to let you have the ball in midfield.There just like take the ball.Lets see you do something with it like us.And most teams cant do anything with it.Northen Ireland beat them 3 2 over there.So anything is possible on a good night.But its more than likely.We will probably get beaten 3 0.If they are up for it.And we are not at a 100 per cent.

@legandrydirk still for me you have to do what Man United did in the semis of the Champions League a couple of years ago against Barcelona. Defend like your life depends on it then spring on the break. I live in Spain, I see how their players play every week, they are beatable, and like you said, N. Ireland beat them just a couple of years ago, so it is possible. Even though I am English and like (for want of a better word) "teasing" the Scots and the Welsh, it would be nice to see them...

@MrNeekappa If we dont make this one.We need to win more friendly games.We have slipped into pot 4 for the World cup qualifers draw.Got time to get out of there though.If we beat Denmark,Wales,Ireland,Czeck Rep,Lithuinia,Lichtenstein.We dont want to be in pot 4.I like to think we play better against the bigger nations though.We take the wee teams to lightly at times.Like the Georgia game,it killed us over there.The players got to big headed.And never remembered your only as good as yer last game

This was my intro to New Order. I was in the U.S. and had no idea for the longest time that it was related to the World Cup. I just thought it was odd how it started to sound like a pep talk by the half way mark.

@NoSurrender92 oh come on, you must be joking. Sepia tinger memories caused by a few amazing songs and Gazza's tears. They were rubbish in eveyr mtch until the semi, and everyone knows it. There's no point saying the past was better than it was. Only tournamnet where England have looked amazing in recent years was Euro 2004, and then almost enitrely cos of Rooney. 4-1 qualifier vs Croatia in 2008 (?) was amazing too.

@TheScottishChristian Three Lions is a million times better than this. This is completely lacking in passion and barely about football at all. (Noel Gallagher said it sounds like a tune they were too embarrassed to release as a normal song.) And unlike Baddiel and Skinner's effort, no-one has ever sung this at an actual England match. Despite all this though, it's still the second best footie pop hit ever.
