The road outside the Catholic church, think it was called the holy rosary, used to vent the water mains on a regular basis. Made for good viewing at dinner time when I was at school. There was a road opposite called Villa road, it was full of victorian houses that were being squatted in by hippies. Used to go and see them regular for free food!

Brixton Water Lane was where Sir Walter Raleigh hurled his coat down for Queen Elizabeth. Raleigh actually lived in Brixton. I lived there too, 20 years plus. Now in trendy Clerkenwell though. Can't say I don't miss the place.
