This is probably just because its the third game - hence 3/3/03. Definitely not 2003, since Saints Row was set in 2006, Saints Row 2 was in 2011 and The Third is most likely 2016 (the McManus sniper rifle 2010 and 2015 support this).

The game takes place in 2016. The calenders are a reference to it being the third game.

well in angel's crib in one of the back rooms, there is a murderbrawl poster with the years on it and it goes all the way up to 2009. so i guess the game at least takes place in 2009 or later?

i think that the 3-3-03 is just there because it's the 3rd game.
