  • this song is one of the reasons why i still play and keep having bands

  • Just felt like saying, Chris got the idea of a 2 string bass from Mark Sandman (Singer for Morphine) Who Chris played with, However Chris' and Mark's instruments aren't the same; Mark played a 2 string bass with a slide, Chris plays a regular guitar as a bass.

Check out Morphine if you'd like, They're different from The Presidents though; 2 String Slide Bass, Saxophone, Drums, Vocals and a lot of their songs are heavily attached to depression E.G. Their entire "Yes" Album.

  • @DEK180 Most music is good. Even if it's modern or really old, you're just too closed minded to realized that all music is acceptable. You must not like change, is all.

  • @Mudstarofskyclan Nice comment. I think you're right... It still depends on what the individual is interested in though. Anyone who says there isn't good music these days might be content living with what he/she already has instead of looking for more music. Any time I look for more music I eventually find some, I got into the Flat Duo Jets, Morphine and The White Stripes this year.

  • @101Volts The White Stripes are awesome. Anyway, people shouldn't go around dissing all modern music just because they don't like a few of the genres that have popped up.

    Also, bro-hoof.

  • @Mudstarofskyclan They are darn good, I'm looking forward to my copy of Icky Thump. Its rather, For lack of a better word, Funny to think what adolescence and a lack of experience brings or may bring; Arguments over Ketchup, Fried Relationships, Burnt Food - Wait, Am I craving French Fries? Anyway, When I see people complain about "All new music stinking" I think when they say "Everything" They mean everything they've heard, Not everything that exists.

    And Brohoof! ^_^/)(\^_^

  • The 90's, welcome back 240p :D.

  • holy fack, this is one of those songs that i've definitely heard when i was little, just never knew which one it was lol

  • sooo this is what lex luthor's been doing on his free time

  • I personaly feel bad for the presidents, the 90's was a horrible time for music if they came earlier they would have made it big.

  • @coconuthunterlemons The 90's was the last great decade for music. You are delusional if you think music sucked in the 90's. We had Nirvana, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Cake, STP, Live, Bush, TOOL, Smashing Pumpkins, Radiohead, RHCP, Alice in Chains, Janes Addiction, Green Day, The Presidents of USA, Offspring, Korn, Counting Crowes, Black Crowes, and other great bands and one hit wonders. I suggest you reevaluate music from the 90's.

  • Totally glad my child hood was in the 90s grew up to this music and never left it :D

  • Wait wait wait... Im I reading people wishign they were teens in the 90's because thats when the music was good ?!?!?! WHaaaaaaa, I find that most of 90's music is crap but there are a couple gems... Thats just me... Hey I wish I was teen in the 60's or 70's lol.

  • Comment removed

  • @coconuthunterlemons I agree... I really do not get why I'm seeing everybody saying they wish they were teens in the 90s. For me the 90s remind me of bad cars, cheap(er) gas, and cheesy graphics computer games that were still EPIC (Monster Truck Madness!!!) But no, not much good music was written in those 10 years. Personally I like Metallica, Gravity Kills, and of course the Presidents.

  • @coconuthunterlemons I so agree. Most of the music that came out of the 90s was depressing. I wish I could have been a teenager in the teens, 20s or 40s when music didn't suck.

  • maybe if they were the crash test dumies

  • is it safe to play in the water with electric like that lol

  • Let's hope there's no Toothpick Fish in those waters.

  • Love everything by these guys. Original and catchy.

  • if i had to choose two bands to describe my childhood it would be PUSA and the offspring...

  • how does this only have 200,000 views i know i must be atleast 100,000 of those

  • hm. now that i think of it these guys are kind of the original Weezer.

  • @canmydickborrowyou Not really. Weezer's Blue Album had already been out for a year before PUSA released their self-titled album. They both had a lot of power pop to their music though.

  • I grew up in the 90's........it was awesome and epic *sigh* I miss it

  • i allways wanted that melody maker to bad its so much money

  • I liked their sound but Peaches was my fav.

  • kinda sucks.Just my opion. but if i was you and heard this in the 90's id like it too but me not knowing about it due to my age of 0 in 1994 or whenever this was made

  • this was THE song that made me buy this cd back when it first came out..many a rocking party was had!

  • I wish i was a teenager in the 90s. this was when music was good.

  • @DEK180 yet now you have access to literally every bit of 90s music for free, and you complain why?

  • @DEK180 lol I was a teenager in the 90's now i feel old, careful what you wish for.

  • @DEK180 i agree that there is amazing music from the nineties, pretty much all i listen too. But im a teenager right now and i love it i would much rather be a teenager nowadays cuz of all the shit weve got now that we didn't back then, and besides i can still listen to the music from back then lol

  • @lilwhiz165 lol thats true

  • @DEK180 Music is still good, you just have to search harder.

  • i grew up in the 90's and i miss bands and songs like this

  • Do they have a bassist? i cant see one on live performances

  • @Dev0Tii97 there gutairs have a few bass strings on them, so one of them plays the bass parts on that

  • @Dev0Tii97 Chris, The singer, Plays a guitar with a bass string and a guitar string on it. The bass string is tuned a step and a half below E (Not an octave down) But it works.

  • Haven't you people heard of a BASS GUITAR??!!?!?!?

maybe you don't know what a bass player should do or what they should sound like. check out Mike Gordon. then you'll think this band is a couple of idiots because they don't have a decent bass player. or a decent anything for that matter!

  • @superballix11 what did the Phish fan say when the nitrous wore off?

    This band sucks

  • @apemagic that's funny! although it may be true that some Phish fans use certain drugs, I myself have actually never used any illegal drug. so you don't HAVE to be high to like them. good comment though. hehe

  • @apemagic just one question. have you heard phish yet?

  • @superballix11 Why are you knocking them? I guess you aren't mature enough to respect that everyone has different tastes. Sure Chris plays simple bass parts but they do have their decent songs IF YOU ENJOY THEM. I like their lyrical style, They have a way of making things kid friendly and cheerful even if the subject is satirical. I'm not knocking Phish either because I checked out some of their songs and they're pretty slow and I could enjoy some of their songs particularly at night.

  • @101Volts thanks for the comment. I like what you had to say. I myself am a guitarist and I enjoy playing Phish's material. after I watched the video I was like "I'm gonna play that song and have it down in a few minutes." when I actually pulled up a tab to start playing, I found the song was as hard to play as some Phish songs. and I like a challenge. I suppose I am highly critical when it comes to music. I admire the fact that you didn't reply to me with a ton of cursing and name calling.

  • @101Volts Also, as a Phish fan, I don't pay much attention to lyrics. Phish is a lot of jam and not a lot of singing and what lyrics they have are pretty much meaningless, in the older songs more than new ones. so you pointed out what they do with the lyrics and I over looked that before.

  • @superballix11 Here's a tip - The guitar for all Presidents songs s tuned to Drop C# and they only use the lowest three strings excluding their third album where their guitars were tuned to standard. I'm guessing the tab you looked up didn't say that. And sure, I used to not think of lyrics when I was a big Nirvana fan so I'm cool with that.

  • 4 different people must have sneezed when they were trying to click that like button and accidentally hit the dislike. Fortunately, those people knew that the only way to repay their grave mistake was to commit Seppuku.

  • top clip top band when are you touring again

  • Sepultura ROots Bloody ROots

  • How many of you have heard Weird Al versions BEFORE the original songs?? Good song by the POTUSes

  • @dlovefilm I first heard of The Presidents through Weird Al's channel in late January 2008.

  • The presidents is still the best live performance I ever saw

  • @TheTilce Holy cow yes! Excellent jumpers!

  • This band gave us a break from the coma inducing "grunge" rock that everyone secretly hated but didn't want anything because they wanted to seem cool! May I add that the '90's also hosted the re-birth of the lame-ass boy bands, and yet we still didn't speak-up! Don't get me wrong, there were a few great artists in the 90's, but between the raspy alternative, and super cheery pop bands, their was an overload of bad tunes!

  • I used to love this song back in the day. One of the few good bands the 90's had IMO.

  • @dcruwys few? are you kidding? commie bastard

  • wow, I never heard the orginal until now. but thank you for making this song, because in return it has created one of my favorite songs, Gump, by Weird Al. but then again thanks to forrest gump for such a great movie as well. I LOVE THE PRESIDENTS OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This video is responsible for making me one of your biggest fans. I was five when this album became a hit and I became a huge fan instantly.

  • Weird al does it better in my opinion.... :)

  • they don´t have bass player?

  • @ka1ron bass player = Singer

  • LOL thats so funny, but your are a loser hey, i mean WTF. Its not a song with meaning, LOL. Its just a random good song with no meaning really. :S I think you are the one with the low IQ not that other dude

  • To Everyone writing on my account: Music can be the most powerful thing to a person. u just have to know how and when to use different kinds of music. Artists may write the lyrics and compose the beats but its up to u how their music is played!¡¡! So stop the bull@*^¡ gossip and LISTEN!¡¡! !¡¡!

  • Rock on!!!

  • Instantly loved this song the first time I heard/saw it!! TPOTUSA. Is that some kind of acronym? Tea Pot USA? Is the T just unneeded here? Just wishful thinking, on my part, I'm sure.

You guys rock!!! I hope you're still together and making some new stuff.?!

    pot U*

  • @imayberight8 The Presidents of the United States of America is what TPOTUSA stands for.

  • god..brings back like 10 years in a moment.

  • *sigh* I miss the '90s. When music was good and life felt uncomplicated.

  • @XedRegelus AMEN!!!!!!!!!! totally agree :0)

  • wtf is LUMP?? I still have no idea! lol and if I knew what these guys looked like when they first came out I wouldnt have listened to them. Thank god radio had no faces!

  • @myerselectric79 i'm glad you judge based on appearance....spoken like a true good person....and the lump he clearly explains in the end...the lump symbolizes memories of her in his head....he probably calls it a lump because he loved her...thus it was mixed emotions....all lumped up

  • @myerselectric79 What kind of horribly shallow cunt are you? Who gives a shit what musicians look like if they're making good music? Music is made to be heard. And if you don't know what "lump" means, then you haven't bothered to read/interpret the lyrics, which is another sign that you don't you're too shallow and stupid to even listen to music. I hope you go fucking deaf and never hear music again because you don't deserve to hear any, bitch.

  • @slevisman you probably look like these dill weeds! I don't give a shit what the lyrics say because they don't matter in my daily life. People who write music usually have problems in their daily life. I got a lump of shit in my pants just for you :)

  • @myerselectric79 Nice comeback. You must have an IQ of 45. I hope they sterilize people like you so that humanity can progress.

  • @slevisman 46 just so everyone is clear lol loosen your belt a little and try to relax. Just having fun with you.

  • @myerselectric79

wow ur a peice of shit.

  • @ima7unicorn I can't help you have no life...... Post another great comment!

  • @slevisman by the way I like the songs I've heard from them. I was just tryin to see how many tards reply.....

  • wtf is LUMP?? I still have no idea! lol

  • @myerselectric79 lump is the chick he cant forget shes like a lump that's stuck in his head!

  • @blueoystercult22 thanks for clearing that up for me

  • Hes Gump

  • I remember hearing so many songs by The Presidents when I was under 10, and I was born in 1990. I never knew who sung them, but they were fucking incredible! Sadly, the first album I ever bought was Dookie by Green Day. It's about The Presidents level of epicness. :P

  • this was the first CD I ever bought. Ive been a badass since the 4th grade

  • I remember this comin out when i was 15. It realy doesnt seem that far ago im 30 now.

  • Silly thing... I knew Weird Al's parody better than this song, despite it coming out a bit after. I didn't hear this song until I was playing Rock Band 2... How could I miss such a great song? Of course, being five when it came out doesn't help matters.

  • Brilliant!

  • At "Rockin out with the band" I always hear Lieutenant Dan in my head.

  • the lump they mention must be yoda duh

  • LIke so many others this was apart of my childhood. This is honestly my number one favourite album EVER . You guys are great.

  • Japanese Cavemen in F# minor

  • I'm about to go see you guys at Washington State University. eeeeeeeeee!

  • crap drummer. who makes the bass?

  • @rodolforops man, i would love to see a crap drummer, what does it look like?

  • @MrSlaughteredlamb I saw one once. He looked really cra... oh nevermind.

  • lemme tell ya, life still limps along at subsonic speeds .

  • I was just cruising through youtube and stumbled onto this......Brings back so many memories.

  • Awesome band... grew up with your songs and there were so many memories

  • You guys were a huge part of my childhood growing up, thanks for the memories. :)

  • this is one of those bands that mainly all about just having FUN.

  • I bet these guys had more fun making music than any other band ever will!

  • they were a JOKE band literally like they were a garage band sent a recording into a place as a Joke and they signed em

  • r u sure that lump isn't a brain tumor?

  • This is one of my favorite bands ever! God what happened to them, they disappeared?

  • "Lump sat alone in a boggy marsh!"

  • not emo in anyway, its kind of pop grunge, but these guys throw in elements of country and blues, they are a bit of a novelty act but they have some musical talent, the songs are catchy, not like the monotomous noise of emop music.

  • This is way too grungy to be emo, listen to those minor scales esp on the bass line. Emo music predominantly has is played using major scales, often unexpectedly so (for example My Chemical Romance songs)

  • Emo? seriously? I see them more as comical than emo :I get your shit straight

  • I did c the 90's cell with the dog!!!! ^__^

  • My mom got me into this song Thanks mom =P!!!!!!

  • Oh god did anyone catch that 90's cellphone at 1:09?

  • best 2:24 minutes of my life

  • Not enough bands rock out in swamps anymore. It's sad.

  • She's lump, she's lump, she's lump [insert line here]!

    Love the PoUSA

  • This is so 90's is painful.. In a good way..

  • Only moronic 13 year olds could ever consider this emo

  • awesome

  • ...The fuck are you all talking about? This isn't emo.

  • Silly, Catchy, and Loud. My kind of music!! :D

  • If u grew up in the 90's and this song and band doesnt bring back good memories, then u were deaf the whole decade! "She spent her 20's between the sheet's" that's one of the best lines ever in a song!

  • @06hrhillbilly "She SPREAD her 20's between the sheets."....get it? hahahahahahahaha now its one of the best lines ever!

  • @06hrhillbilly i didnt grow up in the 90's nd i love this song

  • such a good song. lots of memories to this one!

  • 90s<3

  • @spikehosinski the song is about the singers ordeal with a brain tumor

  • Comment removed

  • How can they even be considered the E word? I can't even use the word on this page because it is ridiculous.

That word should not be used in the same sentence as this band. Ridiculous.

  • robert plant from led zep was the first emo

  • @shamothersunclesfish he is far too cool to ever be emo.

  • @shamothersunclesfish I will come to your house and kick your ass if you ever say Robert Plant was Emo again.

  • The song never made much sense to me, the video just adds to the confusion. Bad ass song though.

  • "I told them, no helicopter or crane shots"

    Guy Caballero

  • Sang this on karaoke with my karate sensei...good good memories

  • lol... do these guys look emo to you? They're jumping around and having a good time. All their songs are upbeat and fun.

  • :D

    only 3 dislikes. lol

  • @holttomlinson Wow, pole sucking slut? I might have to use that one sometime.

  • Dear idiouts,

PUSA isn't emo. Emo is a subgenre of REAL hardcore punk. It was created out of frustration with the growing violence in the scene it the late 80's. Emo is not dressing in black and cutting yourself and making songs that are sad or crying all the time. Emo is just raw emotional music. Like Braid, Rites Of Spring, and The Get Up Kids. Not My Chemical Romance and Fall Out Boy.

  • @extmalcolm ohhhhh wowwowwow!!! FINALLY!! someone REALLY explained what EMO is. I have also explained it this way to my son.

also, add My Bloody Valentine and The Chills to the REAL Emo list.

  • @timandang625 I love My Bloody Valentine, although I haven't listened to The Chills.

  • @extmalcolm =)

  • nice boots

  • is this a parody of Wierd Al's Gump, or was the origanal song called lump

  • @patduntie My god, you are dumb.

  • @qpah shut up you were probably alive when this came out, i wasnt

  • @patduntie wierd al's is a parody of this

  • 90% of all people who claim this to be emo own a Lady Gaga album.

  • @XthatsrightX

Lol, I know right. This is basically 90's rock. Post- grunge movement to be exact.

  • Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

    BaaaaaaaaaBa Ba Bararara NaNaNaNaaab!

    Wub it! <3

  • saying that Nirvana was the only grunge band makes you sound like an ass. they were Alt grunge, also a perk was that they were from Seattle which does help. All of that aside, Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Temple of the dogs, and maybe even Bush are all great in included us ignorant pole sucking slut.

  • this is the furthest thing from emo. if u think its emo then u need to sign off and retink ur life before u try to passs judgement on any thing else. and congrats on bein a fag

  • LOVE IT!!!!

  • Damn, do people than actually think this is emo?XD

OMG what a bunch of idiots :p

  • very cool. what r u guys up to?

  • does the singer have a guitar with bass strings on it?

  • @TRIVIUMrocker123

They both do. They have modified 6 string guitars called "basitar and guitbass." They each have two bass strings on their guitar so they can play both parts as needed.

  • @meatbyproducts awsome :D

  • HELP iv got a "LUMP" on me :}

  • Genre's are up their with seperate race's and seperate classes..

    Pointless...

Music's music no matter what genre you try and sqeeze it into, I often wonder how many new bands come across their music for sale on itunes, or read a review in a mag, and see they are 'classed as Emo sprog rock melodical symphony country style with a hint of jazz... or some shit like that... When all they think is 'oh, i thought we just played music the way we liked it...

  • This song actually got me into mp3 back in like 95 lol cause i first got it in VOC format and was trying to find something better and come across MP3 and drooled... that was like 1995 though haha

  • This song reminds me of a hobo named Stacey.

  • f'n awesome!

  • i grew up listening to this band, had 1 of their albums idk if they made more than one or not but i owned one and i loved 'em, still do :D

  • Are these guys professional nirvana impersonators? UHHHH...gigity gogty gooo ..-Quagmire!

  • @Fo0dStamps they were from the same time as nirvana!

  • Love these dudes.

  • Flannel ain't emo

  • Damn... this is so nostalgic.... i first watched this video when i was a little kid ( 8 or 9 years old) when it starred in MTV Brasil. (i am brazillian and here is braSil, hehe).

Well, whatever... this band still rocks hard in my heart.

I'm glad of seeing you again guys, thanx for the great songs!
