This song is called the Shanghai Bund by Frances Yip.

The composer is James Wong. This is the theme song to a TVB serial called "The Bund" which featured a very young Chow Yun Fat. He wrote much of the music used in TVB's serials in the 70s and 80s. He also composed lots of movie songs in films such as "A Chinese Ghost Story".

Great song and great T.V series. This T.V series was very influencial even to the local economy at the time in 1979. I remembered the newspaper reported that people rushed home before dinner to catch the last episode of the Bund because they wanted to know whether Chow Yun Fat could depart the Bund safely and go to Paris to locate and reunite with the woman of his live (the story). T.V Audience was sadden to see him got gunned down by his enemy.
