This is the ONLY Indiana film for me, sorry. Adding a buff Harrison, heart rips or Sean Connery were just gimmicks to keep a money train going. As obvious and painful to watch as what the Great Gazoo did to the classic Flintstones first season.
I don't know why everyone has to have an indiana jones film they hate, I love all of them. I certainly think raiders is the best, combining romance, adventure, mystery, comedy, and horror perfectly, but I love em' all. Yes, crystal skull as well! Each one brings a new and different adventure! From egypt to south america, to india and venice, I love the indiana jones movies!
This movie holds a special place in my heart... I was born in 78' and I remember when I would visit my grandparents in their NormanRockwell'esque perfect suburban home in Arlington Virginia. Grandpa would always take me to the movie rental store, back b4 Blockbuster, the VHS era, and I always asked him to rent THIS movie, and he always did... it was around 84-85', I was only 6-7 but this movie was EPIC n' me and Gramps LOVED watching the adventure together. He always got it for me. RIP w/Luv :)
Raiders is the only one for me. Its tone is darker and Indy is more mysterious and interesting. The subsequent films are too comedic and self-referential for my liking.
possibly one of the best movies ever most movies nowadays just cannot compete with the genius that is George and Steve. Now we get transformers and other horse crap
I like to pretend that the sequels and prequels and the 4th film especially, were never, ever made. Raiders of the Lost Ark can never, ever be topped, and Lucas and Spielberg were idiots to think otherwise.
@angelversetti1992 I thought the 4th one was alright, well directed. But the casting of Shia LeBoeuf or whatever he's called was plain wrong and probably spoiled it for everyone.
It's obviously one of the best movies ever made. In the last week I've watched all three Indy film. It's so unbeliavable that these films still awesome and timeless. Today I'll watch Raiders again. Well Happy Birthday Indy :)
I actually just saw it on the big screen again thanks to Retro Night at my local Movie Tavern. Raiders definitely is one of the greatest movies I have ever seen. I can only imagine how people in 1981 were once they left the theater. Come on Steven and George, make Indiana Jones 5
After this film I realized what Adventure movie means! It was full of action, funny and entertaining scenes. Harrison Ford and Karen Allen were stunning. Too bad Karen was absent in 2nd and 3rd movies.
Classic NEVER gets old. I have this on DVD.
