hey im setting up a game in blender using a joystic controller. i figured out how to get the buttons and joysticks to function in blender but i can't figure out how to add like a tilt value for the joysticks. by tilt value i mean like the further you push the joystick up or somethin the faster the character moves. do you know how to do that?
This has been really bugging me. I see that your front wheels turn gradually but for the tutorial, the turn very suddenly. I am using a joystick, and i would like to fix it. If anything, can I send you the .blend file? Thanks!
The code in the tutorial is basic. The car in this video is using a slightly more advanced setup. What you are seeing is code for the keyboard using what I call gradual turning. The longer you hold the key down, the more the front wheels turn. Now, what you are talking about is using the Joystick which is even easier. You use the tilt value from the Joystick to turn the front wheels the same amount. If you need help, go to my website and e-mail me from there.
@cthames11 Is there any chance you could post a speedometer tutorial on your website? i would of asked you through the email link on your site, but my email dosent allow it.
hey for your vehicle wrapper tutorial on ur website tutorialsforblender3d, it doesn't work for blender 2.5. Think u could make a version of the script that works on blender 2.5 and message it to me or something? i'm not too good with scripts. i do more modeling and work with logic bricks and stuff. thanks
1. Use a collision box and the vehicle wrapper and it won't jump on a flat surface.
2. Lower the car's center of gravity -- ie the Object Center. A monster truck has a high center of gravity and is easy to flip upside down. A race car has a low center of gravity.
3. To do long jumps, use a collision box, the vehicle wrapper and a low center of gravity.
no way! thats ur website?? thats so cool! i use the tutorials on ur website for like everything. sorry for saying u didn't make it. i thought u were taking credit for another websites model

@cthames11 so do i use your tutorial on your site about vehicle wrapping?
oh and 1 more thing will i have to use scripts,because i dont like them...

@SquatPock2
I've been told that you can make a racing game without using the vehicle wrapper -- which uses python scripts -- but I've never done it.
To be honest, I like using python scripts so I use the vehicle wrapper.
