  • Now that's 3D

Hehehehehehe! Man, when was the last time I saw this

  • We got this on Friday nights when SNL went in the crapper for a few years. It was brilliant.

  • cool!! Eugene Levy as "Bruno"...as played by Woody Tobias Jr

  • Rip & Tear! LOL!

  • They laughed at you in Buffalo, too.

  • Turned them into zombies - but unfortunately it worked too well - they're perfect airlines stewardesses!

(Must be Air Canada, judging by the uniforms)

  • @LittleDragon2000 and the french safety instructions!

  • For other SCTV fans here, i just uploaded the full 2 hour youtube.com/watch?v=rS1nNIyJIt4

Disc 5, Vol. 1 of the DVD for everyone to enjoy - it also has a 1999 cast reunion & Q&A moderated by Conan O'Brien at the end. Enjoy, all - (and of course, please rate and comment your SCTV reminiscences).

  • Getting sex from a stewardess is so easy even a hunchback can do it.....

  • 'Rip and tear Bruno! Rip and tear!!!'

  • Tina Fey won the Mark Twain prize for humour. She ought to licking the pussies of Catherine O' Hara and Andrea Martin in terms of gratitude. The point is: The actors of SCTV have long overdue recognition top honours and subsequent dowries.

  • Ed Wood only ASPIRED to make something like this.

  • @ctdsnark HAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!

  • Yes, we've laughted at him here, Budapest, I remember... :)

  • 2:35 catherine hides a laugh

  • RIP AND TEAR BRUNO !!! classic SCTV . Still makes me laugh after all these years... R.I.P John. Your humor will be missed

  • John Candy died way too early.

  • John candy!!!

  • I still do that 3-D gag today, hah hah hah hah!!

  • I have been watching this for 25 yrs and never realized how funny the biting of Dr Tongues arm was....

  • Huba huba!!!

  • They laughed at you in Buffalo, too

  • Oh, Catherine! God, I LOVE SCTV!!!

  • "Rip and tear, Bruno!" has been an inside joke in my family for years. Thanks for posting!

  • The next time I'm confused, I'll do as Bruno and bite the arm of my master.

  • I stayed up until 1:30am to watch this every friday nite -- so worth it ! SCTV was GREAT ! I still miss the late great JOHN CANDY .... RIP ...

  • O'Hara and her fellow stewardesses were obviously having trouble NOT laughing

  • So, so many times I've said, "They laughed at me in Budapest..." without anyone knowing what I was talking about. Who cares, I laugh!

  • @TheHobbitsRule They laughed at you in Buffalo, too

  • @TheHobbitsRule

DUDE! I say that all the time too!

my friends think im crazy xD

  • bruno gots mo butt than ashtray

  • RIP AND TEAR BRUNO! RIP AND TEAR!

  • That cracked me up the most. Rip and Tear...

  • You know, this is actually pretty clever. The only films taking advantage of 3D at that time were horror films and pornos, the most notable/highest grossing being 'The Stewardesses' and to combine the two is--Jesus, look at Catherine O'Hara's chest! You can't even find pancakes stacked that well. Did she stuff her bra? Because I never noticed her being that big before. I think I'll have to find more videos of her... for research. Yes, for research.

  • @Boonehams NUDE research! (I'm pretty sure she;s padded for this, though.)

  • I think at about 2:30 that Katherine O'Hare really does lose it...she just cannot help but crack up. Love how Bruno keeps kissing Dr. Tongue's hand in gratitude! What a totally excellent series; I still miss John Candy. Few people appreciate this show, and I don't mean to sound like a snob, but I do think that one has to have a bit more on the ball, mentally, than the average bear to appreciate SCTV. I could watch every episode, over and over, for a very long time!

  • @findapartmentnow

Rip and tear Bruno!! I love SCTV. You mentioned Miss O'Hare.

I was on a shuttle van at LAX to the Canada Airlines with MIss O'Hare.

    She was bitch.

  • @findapartmentnow Yep, Catherine is corpsing big-time. How could she help it when Eugene Levy is *nodding his whole body*?

  • 2:35: Catherine O'Hara trying hard to look frightened but is laughing too much!

  • "They laughed at me in Budapest. THEY LAUGHED AT ME IN PRAGUE!"

"They laughed at you in Buffalo, too." [looks under 'Bodies' in Yellow Pages]

  • I'm looking for 3D House of Pancakes,. Anyone remember that?

  • Sure do. YouTube won't let me post a link, so do a search for John Candy house of pancakes, and the link will come up.

  • It was great.. Woody Tobias Jr., Classic!

  • Oh God... I forgot how funny SCTV was.

  • Comment removed

  • Rip and tear! Rip and tear!

  • "Do you think we could stay over for the night?"

Bruno's head knodding is priceless! Great Dr. Tounge episode, one of my favorites.

    Would you like another screwdriver?

  • @fatdogtavern Why Yeth!

  • Dr Tongue: They called me mad. They called me Insane!

Bruno: They called you a little tubby, too

I want to see 3d stake through the heart, with Catharine O'hara's Gilda Radner impersonation!

  • Eugene Levy must have really enjoyed doing the rehearsals for that scene of "rip and tear, Bruno. Rip and tear". Lucky guy. :)

  • Eugene Levy and Katherine O'Hara were great in the movies "Waiting for Guffman" and "A Mighty Wind" I think they were also in "Best of Show" but I'm mot certain. SCTV was great stuff. I especially enjoyed the Schmenge Bros.

  • @bigkellyr

Not only were they both in "Best of Show", but they played a married couple in it.

  • Now I realize how and why I walk down the stairs in Calgary Tower.

  • I browse through Internet pages just like Bruno.

  • The laugh track....the lightning in the mirror and the way Bruno walked down the stairs.........I howled when 16 and still at 41. That wart sums up all that is humourous, scary and 3-D.

  • arooooooo! wasn't that scary? i'm getting goosebumps. especially the way everything just POPS out at you when it's in 3-d. lol.

  • I love this, but the bad (weirdly-timed) laugh track ruins it for me.

  • I wish they could wipe out the laugh track, like they did w/ Get A Life.

  • The laugh track was there to catch moths...and bodies.

  • LOL! I love Dr. Tongue and Count Floyd! Now, if only I can see Dr. Tongue's 3D House of Pancakes!

  • I've tears in my eyes and I can't decide if it's because of laughing or because of the sadness of knowing we'll never see the likes of this again.

  • We'll always have them on DVD, logan--we'll always have them on DVD.

  • I know Stripey. But the real sadness is if the entire cast of SCTV were to suddenly show up today, there's no way they'd get on TV. Look at what's on now, idiotic sitcoms. Granted Cheers and Seinfeld were excellent but shows of that caliber are few and far between. The only thing that comes close to SCTV is SNL and they spend more time wallowing in politics than in purely funny stuff like we're watching here. Is it because our country has forgotten how to laugh at really funny stuff? Hope not.

  • Yes, I agree with what you're saying, and I stopped watching SNL (and most comedy tv) long, long ago because it ceased to be funny and creative. I will always love Canada for giving us SCTV, though.

  • I've seen this a hundred times and every time Eugene Levy comes down those steps I go into convulsions and have to be picked up off the floor. By the way Stripey have you ever seen the movie "Waiting For Guffman" with Eugene Levy, Fred Willard and Kathryn O'hara? If not I suggest you rent it, it's pure genius!

    Logan.

  • Yes, I have seen it, and I liked it very much!

  • I bet if I showed your rant to the Chinese, along with SCTV skits, 800,000 would laugh at you.

  • You sound crazy. Crazier than Blood sucking Monkies from West Mifflin Pensilvania.

I am going from memory of about 25 years ago.

  • More Count Floyd!

  • Classic! One of my all time favorite skits!

  • Oh those babes, they don't make them like that anymore, those 1950s babes.

  • Yes, their foundation garments are beyond compare.

  • But don't forget your 3D glasses, or you can't see them COMING RIGHT OUT at you! ...monsters, and things!

  • And our CAR broke down...

awesome. All the Dr. Tongue stuff is great but this is my second favorite next to the Midnight Cowboy parody.

  • SCTV is so far beyond its time. SNL is ok, but can't compare to this.

  • SCTV ruled. It was way more original than SNL at that time. John Candy was a genius.

  • rip and tear Bruno !! rip and tear !!! and pass me another screwdriver ...
