I'll always remember the OT goal in game on vs the Sens, 2001 I think...mainly because I remember that was the year Easton came out with the 'Synergy' line of composite sticks, and while Mats was under contact to Louisville he torched the Easton stick all black as not to show the Easton logos and played with it instead of the Louisville sticks (TPS weren't around back then I don't believe)

Sundin owes the franchise absolutely nothing, he carried the team every single year he was here without any real talent on the wings (Mogilny was only good for like two years) and did everything this city asked of him. Next time you judge a man ask yourself if you were in his shoes would you really want to uproot your family, friends and properties for the sake of pleasing fans and media? He had the NTC in his contract for a reason.

Dave Keon, Ted Kennedy, Syl Apps, Frank Mahovlich, Johnny Bower rank more than him because they won the cups.

But Mats Sundin is my favourite of all-time. I'm 19 years old, and in my generation, I grew up watching Sundin(Gilmour and Clark too, but that was wayyy back when I was 3-4 years old).

I love Sundin to death and have an unreal amount of respect for him, but his time has come. Obviously the Leafs are in no position to win the cup in the next few years, so why not look ahead to the future? The stupidest part is that with Ferguson still GM he would have been traded by now, but Fletcher is gonna do absolutely nothing for the Leafs organization, just like he did in the 90s.
