I still remember sean combs(no i'm not calling him by his ridiculous rap names) sampled a led zepplin riff for a crappy song he made for the godzilla soundtrack. They take a great rock riff and then bastardize it for a horrible rap song. Stop creating music with a computer, learn an instrument and make music yourself.

When a rock group covers some1 its always stated, black keys - have love will travel (stooges cover) there is credit & respect given. Sampling doesnt publicly acknowledge credit to the orginal, which allows the masses to assume its their own work. And a cover song is never trying to be an original, if a rock group tired to use someones melodies or riffs on there own songs they would be sued
