  • it was planned

  • so hot

  • LOL that fall was not a real fall or mistake. Look at it closely. You can see her look downward and practically step into the "fall". She meant to end it that way. Lovely as always I might add. The absolute best. Most artistic skater of any century.

  • would be nice if she added a triple lutz in all of her programs.. it would give her more confident if she did for the competitive programs..But she is still exquisite!

  • Intentional or not, her fall was amazing :D

  • Intentional or not, her fall was amazing :D

  • intentional or not, her fall was AMAZING!!! :D

  • Hee hee... I'm supposed to be using the computer for my report, but I ended up watching videos of Sasha Cohen instead!

  • She is so flexible I'm so jealous D:

  • that was a fall, it was a mistake she has said, but it went with the music!

  • I'm pretty sure that was a fall. She was pretty off center haha but nice cover-up!

  • I love Sasha. Hope she makes it to the Olympics :).

  • i love how she falls and makes it part of the program!

    a beautiful mistake!

  • Yo fui a esa competencia

  • I find her absoultey devine and i so want to be her when i grow up go Sasha Cohen

  • absolutly beautiful

  • Воистину, красота и талант спасут мир !!! Браво !!!

  • where can i get this song?!?!?! i have looked EVERYWHERE and i CANT FIND THIS SPECIFIC VERSION!!! D:

  • Comment removed

  • It is Romeo and Juliet by Nino Rota

  • That was definitly a planned fall. She would not put her hand out to cushion the landing while also bringing her other hand into the lasting position if that was an unplanned fall. Also she wouldn't look that happy about it.

  • When she comes back will she coach herself or will she find someone to be her coach? Just checking.

  • Of someone will be her coach! lol

Rafael Arutunian will be coaching her this season instead of John Nicks...

  • XxSkatingFan4LifexXD, thanks for giving me the needed information. I was wondering if the newer coach will be a better fit for her than her previous one.

  • Your welcome....though I'd really hoped she'd return with John Nick's...It'll be her first Olympics without him. He was a great coach for her.

  • I dont know whether you know it, but Nicks is her coach now, just as Aratunian. They "share" Sasha:D

  • Where's you hear that? As far as I know John Nicks is still considered her former coach, when did she return to him?

  • i dont think you could think fast enough to make it look that planned; after the long program and all you know.

  • That fall was sooo not planned. But I have to admit, it was a pretty (and funny, pretty funny?) fall. Hahaha. (:

  • a-mazing! absolutely perfect.. the expression is just wonderful, technique (of course) was great.. shes the best! :D

  • oh god i can't believe how good she is! she's gorgeous

  • so gorgeous...but that fall was clearly just a slip...could happen to anyone when they over-extend

  • the fall goes with the theme, so i suppose it was supposed to be in there. so i believe it was planned

  • was the fall planed?

  • the song.. perfect. the performance.. perfect. sasha.. perfect. I love it!!

  • Alexandra(Sasha)

My name is Claudia from perú,I want to tell you that YOU ARE THE BEST AND YOU WILL BE FOREVER!!

    THE BEST OF ALL!!

    ALL ARE POSIBLE!!

  • lol that fall at the end was funny and a bit dramatic.

  • she is great

  • i had never seen this fall-maybe i forgot! great job of covering it up though if she did;)!

  • That fall at the end is probably as graceful as a fall could get!! She is amazing!!

  • she fell? man she covers it up well

  • OMG! lol i gasped when she fell at the end...lol

  • it was definitely a fall, you can see, if you watch carefully, how she goes over her toepick at the end of the spin, she just does an exquisite job of covering her mistake.

  • if it was a fall. she did amazing coverin it up..shes so beautiful all the time...even if she falls

  • i wish she will make a comeback for the olympics, we need her

  • She wouldn't land all her jumps flawlessly only to on-purpose fall on her final spin. It's just an alternate end to the program. Also, she looked happy at the end, which she doesn't when she actually falls.

  • trpldeck -

She looks happy because she knew she covered her mistake really well. XD

Sasha Cohen for the 2010 Vancouver Olympics! 8D

  • perfect beyond words. She plays the character from beginning to end. True art on ice.

  • I thought at first it was totally planned--it makes sense that she should fall because Juliet dies. However, on another version of this same performance when I stated the latter, the person who posted the vid--michiruwater--said, no, it was a fall, but she covered it well. Some of you may have noticed michiruwater is apparently a big fan of Sasha Cohen, so I assumed her opinion must be correct.

  • It was a fall, but that was a great improvisation ;)

  • I know, I never would have known otherwise! Maybe they should have changed the actual ending of the program to that!

  • It would be really difficult, though, LOL.

  • Very true! I don't know how you fall out of a spin like that on purpose!

  • There was no accident... the whole program was flawless.

  • Either way it looked amazing! : ) I wish I could pull my leg up next to my face like that geez!

  • she actually says "i fell" at the end, lol, but it still looked nice

  • this is my favorite program of sasha's. everything is done so nicely especially the spirals as always

  • IT WAS PLANNED! DUH! its so obvious and how does the last spin look wobbly yous on crack!

  • sigh... planned fall or not, i think it was just beautiful.

  • The fall was on purpose. It goes with the theme of Romeo and Juilet. Juilet kills herself, so Sasha fell down as part of the act.

  • No one falls like that out of a spin, she just went straight down. If it wasn't planned, a fall like that could have seriously injured her, and she looked completely normal after it, so in order for her to have improvised that, she would need to know how to fall. And who decides, "Oh, I'm gonna fall at the end of my program"? I don't think she would be the kind of skater to do that.

  • that fall was obviously purpose!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! u ppl are so clueless

  • okay, she wasn't suppose to fall. It was made to look that way bc she improvised, but if you look at her last spin in the last position she is very wobbly and goes on her toepick and then goes down. She's such a great skater that she made it look like that was suppose to happen..

  • Gosh so many people arguing over if the fall is planned or not haha xD One of my fave programs of Sasha, my idol hehe. I can't wait to see her this year at Stars On Ice, she's #1 =]

  • it's a pupose the fall at the end cuz it looks nice

  • The fall was planned!

  • my figure skating could never mach sashas

  • i think she was supposed to fall

  • SOOO cute when she falls on her ending pose and just goes with it! i LOVE her!

  • i wish i could figure skate but when im on the ice i fall everywhere.

    lol

  • she is 23

  • how old is she

  • this is beautiful!

  • BEST SKATER EVER!

  • great!!!

  • Awesome! Like she allways is. I even like the fall at the end ja-ja. I love the "atitiude" (don't know the spell) she does after her landing. :)

  • I heard miss lindstrom kicked sasha cohens ass at twister =]

  • shes amazing :D

  • i just read what i wrote and it was very fague. and yes i know it was part of her routine and i liked the fall and what was the screen for next to the judges?

  • ppl her fall was part of da routine....

  • What is the screen for in the background?

  • to tell you the truth i liked the fall. i actually laughed because of it. i thought it was fun:)

  • this was the best version of this i have seen , as far as her delivery of the choreograohy ,, but then again it wasnt a major competition so she didn't have to worry about jumps ,, that fall did look real but juliet did die a the end so it totally worked

  • omg she rocks

  • Very touching. I have meant to say it.

  • Wow. love the ending... it was on purpose i think..

  • she meant 2 fall, i mean u don't just make up ur ending position during ur program and she put her hand out 2 slow her down or somethin 2 the fall...w/e! stop fightin about it just enjoy the video!

  • heeii ...someonee wrote that and u answered her back very mean!!

  • This performance was only flawless because she only did 2 or 3 triples. Everyone always comments on how good her spin positions are. Yes, they are exquisite, but they are usually slow. When she spins fast, like she does here, she wobbles all over the place.

  • i think the fall at the end was on purpose...still, the judges might not think so

  • there r no judges! its a marshalls competition! everyone watching is a judge! and come on! like she would happen 2 fall at the end, and it happened 2 be romeo and juliet!

  • huh??

  • Well, I guess we'll never know the answer=)

    (it was on purpose)

  • That fall in the end was a real fall, lol. Still, she did it w/ grace, so it did not ruin the program at all for me :-)

  • perfect jumps and beautiful program!

  • what is the name of this song i simply adore it.. and omg sasha's performance is mindblowing...

  • I love it! I have watched it a thousand timees!

  • exactly..

  • omggg ppl !

tht fall was on purpose it's romeo and juliet!!!

  • Esta niña siempre acaba en el suelo...

  • omg she is amazing at her spins

  • guys...you really need to know about ballet and skating. I'm a ballerina and I can tell she was anticipating that fal...it's so obvious! She pulled her arm out to slow down for the fall...no because she was unbalanced...come'on guys...that's known as physics!

  • karina917, not everyone here is a ballerina like u, n its not known physics, and stop trying 2 be so smart!

  • Okai...don't take it that personal....god!=S

  • except that puting your arm out is also a move....so that cant relly explain if she meant to fall or not...sorry!

  • I don't think it was choreographed but I think she thought that she was unsteady on the spin so she decided to fall, so I guess it was sort of on purpose.

  • She placed second behind Michelle Kwan. Sasha haters

I bet she'll make just as good a Juliet on stage like she does on ice. It would break my heart if she doesn't skate again.

  • umm The fall was on purpose! For those who havn't seen Romeo and Juliet... They both die at the end of the story...That's what Sasha was representing...She put the arm up because she was going into the fall...On purpose...And the pose she struck at the end... And that's that.

  • what did she place?

  • nice...

  • The fall.... it wasn't on purpose!!! she just fell and that's it!

  • that fall was totally not on purpose.. you could see her going out of control on her spin

  • that fall was totally choreographed. come on. this isn't the olympics. i thought it was beautiful. that song always gets to me. she stuck her arm out to get ready for the fall. its true she did land a little hard, but i'm positive it was on purpose

  • how i luv this one!!! thx for posting it...this ones my fav

  • i love how through her entire performance none of the commentors said anything, cause when she does a flawless performance theres really nothing to say...all u have to do is watch.. =D

  • They can't commentate on Marshalls Challenge..they broadcast in the rink..

  • oh..haha. thanks =D

  • I love this music so much. Which Romeo and Juliet is it from? The ballet, one of the movies?

  • the movie, it's the Nino Rota track

  • It was choreographed like that becuase of the death of Romeo and Juliet.

  • Beautiful as usual! She's incredible!!!

  • That was definitely not a planned fall. If it was planned there is no way she would have fell on her side the way she did. Her hip hit the ice pretty hard. She did a good job covering it up though :)

  • she looks like she's doing ballet

  • i really think she fell coz shes never done that before i don't think it was for dramtic effect, i think she mouthed "i fell" or something like that but she really styled it out, thats cool.

  • She fell on purpose duh.It just added drama to the performace.I really wish she did that ending in the 2006 olympics. It would have made that perfomance one to remember.

  • That was definitely not a choreographed fall. She was wobbling on the spin at the start of her back sit position and when she did the egg-beater on one arm, she was out of control. A choreographed fall also wouldn't have gone down that hard. Ouch! And lastly, "death on ice" is not allowed, so if she did it at the Olympics she would have been penalized.

  • She did fall on purpose, watch the video marshalls ladies voting 2, Dick Button says how he liked that last move and that Isadora Dunkan would die for that. It would be pretty obvious that she did it on purpose if you watched the whole actual thing(with voting stuff)

  • She did fall - look at how she lost control of the spin at the end. It's a pretty crazy, difficult spin there, so I think she probably knew she'd lose control so she just let go.

  • I TOTALLY agree! Omg, obviously she fell b/c she lost control.

  • I agree too! It's quite obvious

  • that was great too bad she cant do it in competition! i think she didnt mean to fall at the end of the spin as her toe pick got caught in the ice but it was deffinitely a very interesting ending postition and she made it look as if she was meant to do it!

  • ok wtf?? lmao like really she knows thats not how she was gona end....no doubt that aint a good ending position...lmao i mean dont fake it just take i gosh

  • can i just say something, whether she fell or not, i dont know, but i think the comentators would have said if she did and anyway it doesnt take away from the programme anyway so why argue about it lol

  • I saw the same programm other times, and she didn`t ended them in that way but in this case she did some changes in the beginning too, so she could have planned the end in that way

  • Of course it was planned. She would never fall that way!

  • good job

  • ^^lol-i don't like seeing skaters dying on the ice very much either. I think it's slightly disturbing.

  • I thought the fall was an accident too. Yes, I do know that Juliet dies (she actually kills herself) when she finds out that Romeo has killed himself because he thought that she was dead (Shakespeare, I just love him). However, the ending was great, but I think that it was not meant to be that way. Sasha did not ever do it that way in practice or at nationals, the Olympics, or worlds. Personally, I hate to see skaters die on the ice in certain ways.

  • I agree with you, an accident but I love how she made it look like it was not!

  • teehee thanks! yessss

  • What the hell? That's obviously how she meant to end it. Look at the way she goes into the final position - it's clearly not improvised. The reason she went down so hard is because she was still in the spin as the music ended; she knew she had to get down to the ice fast to make it work. Plus, I think sunsetlily has the best argument of all - she ends it like that every time!

  • I think it's pretty doubtful that it was on purpose,I mean, she farely bounced off the ice when she went down..

  • duh it was choreographed. she ends her other ones the same way!

  • Um, have u watched her other programs? She ends STANDING UP!

  • duh. thats how you usually end in REAL competitions. this was just for fun, like American Idol, and sasha had fun with it. she made it more dramatic. (if you look at her other program for this event she ends doing the splits. but i guess that was an accident too huh)

  • It was AMAZING. She turned a fall at the end into a stunning ending, the dick button loves. She is so PERFECT! It is too perfect.

  • I second that, mytragiclovestory. Even my friends, who have no education in the subject of skating, know that the fall was choreographed.

  • And that's exactly why they are wrong, they don't know anything about it

  • Why would she hit the ice so hard on her injured leg, if the fall was part of her program? I think it was an accident, and the fact that she saved it so well, makes her a wonderful competitor.

  • she's re-enacting romeo and juliet, in which she "dies" at the end. you guys are idiots.

  • are you guys talking about the ending? because that's part of the program . . .

  • if it was a real competition then i wouldnt smile. but it wasnt, it was all in fun. she looks more relieved then anything that she wasnt hurt. its pretty obvious it was an accident but she pulled it off wonderfully.

  • Would you smile if you fell at the end of your program? No, you wouldn't.

  • Okay, well it really doesn't matter on deductions. It was a purposeful fall and it is obvious.

  • there were no deductions because it wasnt a real competition. it was bascially exhibition with fans voting. the fall was not on purpose. i think peggy even commented on her nice save at the end.

  • there were no deductions because it wasnt a real competition. it was bascially exhibition with fans voting. the fall was not on purpose. i think peggy even commented on her nice save at the end.

  • I WAS THERE....SHE FELL BY ACCIDENT!! LOOK AT HER BLADE ROCK WHEN SHE COMES OUT OF HER FINAL POSITION!

  • Why would she put her hands by her head and pretend it wasn't? That's not allowed in programs, pretending that a fall was purposely. Yes, I saw how she fell, but it was accidental, just because you were there doesn't mean you know everything about it. She had no deductions in this program so the fall was purposely.

  • But it was purposely*

  • WTH??? THIS FALL WAS ON PURPOSE. If it wasn't, then why was she smiling??!?!?

  • Exactly, it was purposely, because when you see skaters fall, you can tell why/how they fell, if you look close enough, and Sasha let herself fall to the ice in this one.

  • She's very thin

  • lol, your comment has no link w/ the others XD

  • Yeah I was there and she really did fall..it wasn't part of her program..obviously..

  • did she fall on purpose? I think she did coz she hit the ice too hard....nobody finishes like that, even if they finish on the floor, yeah i think she did, but any way she knew how to stlye it out. welldone to her. lol

  • it looks like a choreographed fall. on purpose~

  • I think it was on purpose. It's romeo and juliet! she's supposed to die!

  • i thought it was pretty obvious she fell in the end. she saved it really well though.

  • I dont think she falls down in the end.. If she did, it was a perfect falling lol

She's great and I'm a big fan of her!! :P

  • She falled....omgg......lol..
