I passed by Iyana Ipaja sometime in 2008 and I saw a big billboard with SegunAdewale bold written and I was wandering if its the legendary Segun Adewale. I'm happy to learn here now that he's the one. I love the man, his voice, his style and everything. Can we pls have some of his great records around 85, 86 etc. They are wonderful songs!
I take those comments back ! Segun Adewale is the Patron of P-Man Alimosho local Government and he is into Land Investment . He shed light on this in the interview he had with the sun Newspaper of Friday April 17th this year (2009 )
This is really good. I could not even remember a word of it again. THis must have been released when he parted ways wt Shina Peters. It is a shame he has not quite made it in music. What does he do now anyway?
I believe the guitar is actually called Hawaian guitar. A juju friend of mine still uses it, which I quite find amusing as many juju musicians don't use it anymore. We searched for it on Charing X rd, London summer 2008 to no avail.
No. This song is 100% Adewale. Song in his traditional YoPop style, 'Play for me' was released in 1988 through Segun Adewale's superstar international record label. Segun Adewale and Shina Peters broke up in 1980.
It's a shame the whole track cannot be posted. I have this on vinyl and it's a majestic 19.06 minutes long.
