In my personal experiances with biracials(black and white mixed) it seems that the biracials with the most dominant African features but have only the light skin, they tend to be very uneasy about being called, viewed or mistaken as black...NOT ALL BUT SOME IVE EXPERIANCED....But the biracials who have more caucasian features they tend to be chill and ok, It's strange because I would think that the biracials with more European features would be the ones who dismiss their blackness.
One biracial female who had very kinky hair called me a nappy head and I was shocked because my hair was longer and more soft then hers. It was as if her biracialness excluded her from the fact that she had not only more dominant African features than me but her hair was way more kinkier than mine....Hell!! I thought she was a light skin sista until she let me know she was not black and could not stand blacks.
I am kinda neutral about how blacks feel about biracials being black because myself, I am a black woman who has long curly hair and I have light brown skin people always ask me, am I biracial? but I say no both parents are black...so to make a long story short, I can't stand when some biracials with more dominant African features than me or much kinkier hair than mines, turns their noses up at blacks and they look more black than some blacks with two black parents.

@bnbalenda You are correct on things but You are being a little too liberal in your interpretations of the racial classification systems of European peoples on Blacks and mixed raced Blacks but I get your point. Genetic Northern European White Races have the most defined systems and Southern European Whites (but not all) have the tendency to have the most relaxed systems on Race. Biracials are accurate on some things and deluded on others. Race consciousness is a part of all European Nations.
@bnbalenda This is true, I 've come to the conclusion that the majority of Biracial people who take issue with being called Black for the most part have an Issue with the stigmatization of being Black and all that goes with being a part of the class or caste. If you're black and white then you're black and white end of story. Some features dominate over others or are equally mixed, but like you said you are who you are. People identify you by apperance. It's how the world works, if you look more white than black people will call you white if you look more black than white people will call you white and if you're equally mixed.....well from what i've seen and heard you're usually black......but correct me if i'm wrong it's just from my experiences.
In France, Germany and Italy if you are Biracial, you're not Black, but Biracial. In South Africa, Biracials are known as Coloureds and they have their own ghettos. But still to a racist Caucasian, Biracial are considered as N****s. It's only in the U.S. Canada, Australia, New Zealand and some other countries where Biracials are called Blacks. I'm an African full blooded Black person and in many African countries, Biracial people are not considered as Blacks. Whites at the time were really concerned at the time of not becoming a creolized race or a race of mulattoes. We do indeed have AAs who do not at all look mixed in anyway so it could be possible but please provide a reference to a credible source of study on the DNA. In my personal experiances with biracials(black and white mixed) it seems that the biracials with the most dominant African features but have only the light skin, they tend to be very uneasy about being called, viewed or mistaken as black...NOT ALL BUT SOME IVE EXPERIANCED....But the biracials who have more caucasian features they tend to be chill and ok, It's strange because I would think that the biracials with more European features would be the ones who dismiss their blackness.

@bnbalenda You are correct on things but You are being a little too liberal in your interpretations of the racial classification systems of European peoples on Blacks and mixed raced Blacks but I get your point. Genetic Northern European White Races have the most defined systems and Southern European Whites (but not all) have the tendency to have the most relaxed systems on Race. Biracials are accurate on some things and deluded on others. Race consciousness is a part of all European Nations.

@bnbalenda This is true, I 've come to the conclusion that the majority of Biracial people who take issue with being called Black for the most part have an Issue with the stigmatization of being Black and all that goes with being a part of the class or caste. I would go even further to say that there is anger or even hatred to a degree towards Blacks and The Black Identity. They feel limited by it but thats erroneous thinking in itself. Let them do as they feel but don't drag blacks into it.

If you're black and white then you're black and white end of story. Some features dominate over others or are equally mixed, but like you said you are who you are. People identify you by apperance. It's how the world works, if you look more white than black people will call you white if you look more black than white people will call you white and if you're equally mixed.....well from what i've seen and heard you're usually black......but correct me if i'm wrong it's just from my experiences.

In France, Germany and Italy if you are Biracial, you're not Black, but Biracial. In South Africa, Biracials are known as Coloureds and they have their own ghettos. But still to a racist Caucasian, Biracial are considered as N****s. It's only in the U.S. Canada, Australia, New Zealand and some other countries where Biracials are called Blacks. I understand where you're coming from.

@byrdgee Don't get me wrong, I with you, but the problem is that many Biracial people have a hard time because some Black people don't accept them as Blacks and Caucasians don't accept them as Whites. I'm an African full blooded Black person and in many African countries, Biracial people are not considered as Blacks. They are identified differently in different countries.I agree that people should identify themselves they want.

@byrdgee That is a accurate assessment of how the Saxon based one-drop is applied and practiced. I hate when people misinterpret or misrepresent that rule. Whites at the time were really concerned at the time of not becoming a creolized race or a race of mulattoes. It absolutely had nothing to do with holding a race back who was already held back, that would be an unnecessary redundancy. This dispels Biracial argument of some that they are being held back by such a practice by Anglo Saxons.

@byrdgee Physical appearance changed the ruling but "passing" or 'running" was a quite affair. that person would just have to make it a point for no fundamentalist nut finding out about them. It was a don't ask dont tell sort of thing. Ironically enough all AAs are mixed and I believe thats why we find this so confusing the hoopla that the Biracials are making about this. @BonusCivis sorry but according genetic genealogists and other scientists 58 % of AA have 12.5 % europeen ancestry and 19.6 % have 25 % of it which make a total of 77.6 % who have Europeen ancestry .not all African who came in the U.S mixed themsleve with Europeen or Native and not all of AA belong to the Bantu tribu some have Igbo,Mande,Akan who are all not Bantu

Please provide me with a credible study to prove what you are saying? The Remaining AAs not covred probably have around 50% to 60% euro. We have some pretty Euro Looking AAs here. The Great Boxer Muhammed Alis DNA came back majority European. I do not think the studies are accurate but if so please show provide a credible source on this study.

We do indeed have AAs who do not at all look mixed in anyway so it could be possible but please provide a reference to a credible source of study on the DNA. I am stating from observation and from living here I am not exactly sold on that 77%.

@byrdgee The Reasoning dictates that European Nations on both sides of the Atlantic are rational, therefore there policies will contain rationality, therefore if North Africa and the Middle East is a diametrically opposed cultures from Western Civilization and readily accessable to this foreign cultures migration then it is safe to assume that some sort of protective policy will exist to keep that culture safe. U.S. is on the other side of the Atlantic. Anglo-America does not feel the threat.

So what does that tell you about how this country looks at us?
