According to Wikipedia, either the 12 in the title refers to the number of musicians appearing on the album or it means there were 2 other trax recoded which were demo-quality and din't make the cut. A lot of people think Ween were just being smartasses.

@wefkr Probably a year. Almost everyone has songs they like immediately, but Ween are so eclectic people struggle to see the coherence, and brilliance, between songs and albums. I think it starts to click when people become familiar with Gene and Dean individually and see what connects all the dots together. Until people get that there may as well be a 100 different singers. Put on a song they've never heard and they won't even realize it's Ween.
