@Taintmash It was produced by Ben Vaughn with Nashville session musicians. I'm pretty sure they'd think it's legit. Unless, of course, they're into that crossover country shit. Then it might leave them cold.
Not sure why it says 12 country greats when there's only 10 songs on the album and when they remade it why did they take Ali out of Powder Blue I wonder? Those crazy guys.
Wow. and Eric Clapton lead me here..... weird....... do not really have a comment I guess. not sure what to think. spend the dog food money? I can imagine this is fun bar music. hope that is not insulting... but, I can imagine going out and enjoying this music.... It brought a smile to my face on a day that was covered in frowns...:) thanks
So where does this group come from? Sure sounds like it from my very own weird city......
@NeverEverForgotten Dude, listen to more of their music and you'll see they're not meant to be taken seriously. They have a song called "Where's the Cheese", for God's sake. Go listen to it! :D
:) All the videos on this site always have some mean ass comments and insults and people that can't spell...NOT A WEEN VIDEO!!!! Most of us use our brains enough to appreciate this band and be able to spell simple words! Yay!
According to Wikipedia, either the 12 in the title refers to the number of musicians appearing on the album or it means there were 2 other trax recoded which were demo-quality and din't make the cut. A lot of people think Ween were just being smartasses.
I believe the song Booze Me Up and Get Me High (one of my favorites) was supposed to be on this album, and odds are knowing the band's reputation, there were a good handful of other songs that didn't make the cut.
Booze Me Up is one of my all-time faves, too, especially the "Live at Stubb's" version. They do weird songs as well as they do their country rockers. <3
@blackestcracker hey man actually booze me up was originally intended for the mollusk album, if im not mistaken the two songs cut from this album are "sorry charlie" and "i got no darkside" both really great tracks
Um..Good Charlotte? They're hardly relevant on a mainstream level anymore.
You sound like that old guy that's always at concerts in the present day, drunkenly slurring about how "this here beats the crap out of that there Limp Bizkit bullshit that's popular."
I was just listing a few shit bands off the top of my head that have reached mainstream success. The point I was making was how shameful it is that garbage music is very popular, while Ween doesn't get the accolades it deserves. I know Good Charlotte isn't ragingly popular in 2009, but most people know who they are(I've never even heard one of their songs and I know who they are). You sound like a guy who has poor reading comprehension skills.
@DamonIcke dude.. the masses consume what companies tell them to, they have no choice but to like that shit. If Ween became super popular, companies would take less than a day to come up with a shitty copy of the band and would do everything possible to shove it down people's throats
@DamonIcke Yes, there is no justice in life. And because of this fact I am gonna jack my dick until my balls drop off. You may think that this is an odd reaction to the aforementioned fact, but to my mind it is a perfectly normal reaction.
@DamonIcke Dude, are you serious? i know you typed this like a year ago, but all the pop music you mentioned was popular like FOUR YEARS AGO! What kinda retards do you know?...
@unplannedautopsy I don't really know anyone who likes that stuff. I was just naming random shitty artists who aren't half as good as Ween. I don't follow those groups and have no idea what going on the radio. Sorry. Are those people no longer making music?
@wefkr Probably a year. Almost everyone has songs they like immediately, but Ween are so eclectic people struggle to see the coherence, and brilliance, between songs and albums. I think it starts to click when people become familiar with Gene and Dean individually and see what connects all the dots together. Until people get that there may as well be a 100 different singers. Put on a song they've never heard and they won't even realize it's Ween.
@DamonIcke let's just leave it that way. crowd sizes are just fine how they are. it would be a little uncomfortable to see a good charlotte t shirt in the crowd.
@DamonIcke look at it this way, they have a big fanbase, but if they had hit it big they wouldve gone mainstream and bin as shitty as nickelback and soulja boy...-_- i cant believe i just typed that asshats name....so its better of they didnt go big.
