Don't know what the &fmt=22 thing is all about, it doesn't enable 720p. Vimeo has only one HD format and that's 720p. Compare apples to apples, not to oranges.
Vimeo is better but youtube is more popular and it might be better quality because youtube has like 500 million videos and Vimeo has a lot less so they can give you the higher quality videos
Quality comparison is fair. They're both great. The one huge difference that make my choice a lot easier is the fact that you really have to search through vimeo to find crap because all of the featured/front page videos consist of professional/intelligent film-making in many different categories and arts, whereas youtube provides the crap as well as advertising right in front of your face so u can see why everyone's checking out chocolate rain, chris crocker, star wars kid, etc.
Eric Schmidt, YouTube's censorship-happy CEO is a HOMOPHOBIC BP COCKSUCKER.
Pulled my primary YouTube channel with 1,500+ subscribers for uploading a 2 minute BOYCOT BP video, it was G-RATED and told the TRUTH about BP's OIL GREED.
Without warning, they yank my CHANNEL.
Poof! Gone in an instant!!!
FUCK ERIC SCHMIDT, you'll get no more videos on YouTube from me.
Vimeo.com is the YouTube KILLER, higher quality, longer vids.
Greedy Google COCKSUCKERS now want to buy Vimeo so they can shut it down.
vimeo is pretty awesome.... had both playing at the same time with youtube still downloading and stopping while vimeo streamed it and completed it way before youtube.
On my screen, the vimeo vid is much sharper and the colors seem stronger. If I were to choose , Based on this video, I would choose vimeo. Reading above, I found youtube to have a faster load time, if my memory serves me right... then again my memory isn't what it was......
I've been torn between YouTube and Vimeo for a little while now. The new HD feature on YouTube is great, but it isn't automatic and the loading time is ridiculous. HD from the start was what was with vimeo plus a faster load time with videos.
Had trouble telling which was crisper. I'd go with youtube by a hairline margin. The only thing I prefer about vimeo is the interface. The ability to watch it on your own screen at 720p before expanding it beyond 720 to full screen for those of us using a large monitor. It's a really nice option. Gotta say youtube going 720p is a real game changer since there aren't major limits (1GB is pretty solid) on uploading and the fact that you can hack the embed code to embed HD on external websites.

Watched both videos on my iMac 30'' several times, in my opinion the video is a little better on YouTube.
Thanks for the testing videos, I wanted to choose where to upload my HD videos and now I will go on with YouTube...
