  • @joenwayne Hello. You are more than welcome. I look forward to watching and listening to more of your beautiful videos. I have a question. Do you have any videos of the song "Crown Him With Many Crowns?"

  • "rejoice! Give thanks and Sing!"

  • Actually Episcopalian - this is good and comptemporary is also good. Its all good, just different styles

  • down with the Contemporary Movement!!!!!! God save Traditional churches like this one :)

  • Joe Wayne: How about playing the Mormons theme hymn ". Come Come Ye Saints" please

    Thanks

  • what are some of the words to this hymn? I have a hard time making them out on this video. I reconize this hymn from my lutheran church, but what comes after the rejoice, rejoice part?

  • Dear Joewany, Peace and Grace, I cry when I see such a beautiful song so my wish, dream is a day I have a organ to praise the Lord, but I can´t ... I hope that God touches the heart of a Christian and help me buy a organ, I live in Brazil I´m Luterno

  • im wondering im baptist and our words in the hymnal are all different than the ones posted

  • Hi,

This hymn text was originally written in 1865 for a festival in England at Peterborough Cathedral. In order to get all of the many participants in, it originally contained 11 stanzas! Most hymnals now use about 4 of the original. Hymnal editors make the decision as to which stanzas they use. The text is based on Psalm 20:4, Psalm 147:1, and Philippians 4:4.

Thanks for viewing and your comments.

  • WONDERFUL!!!!

Thank you VERY much for introducing me to this hymn. We dont sing many good hymns like this one in the Baptist church anymore.

    Thanks and GOD bless you!!!

  • Thanks for viewing and your kind comments.

  • Im wondering, if you could do a view for a prossecional hymn like you did on: J. S. Bach, Louré, on historic pipe organ.

Because, Im curious about how fast they are moving and such

    :)

  • Most Baptist Churches! The Baptist church I used to play at had 3 hymnals and sang all of the songs in all 3 of them. Sometimes to my own chagrin. :D

  • We have 1 hymnal, and "sing off the wall."

    Its sad.

  • That is kinda sad. I hate wall projectors! We have one at one of my posts, and it comes down in front of a swell chamber. It makes people forget how to "read" music in the hymnal. I hate how some churches get into singing only like 20 hymns and ignore the rest of them. AAUUUGHHH!

  • Do we attend the same church?! Because, you just described mine perfectly!

  • Ha, well lets get busy educating our congregations before they forget all the great old hymns! :D

  • Very nice,i have looked this one up in my Hymn books but cant find it anywere, can you help ! please.

  • The tune is called "Marion", written by

    Arthur Henry Messiter (1834-1916).

The words by Edward H. Plumptre (1821-1891), Anglican priest, professor of theology at Oxford, for a Choral Festival at Peterborough Cathedral in 1865.
