  • @thawhte8 dragon born are a playable d&d race

  • What if Dragonborn (from Skyrim) was included in D&D?

  • @thawhtet8 How about this way around: Dragonborn were first in D&D and then in Skyrim. -.-

  • he used hes lightning pole. (insert sexual joke here)

  • I'm a female dungeon master, myself. They call me the Dungeon Mistress, though, so they can make jokes about their weekly session with the Dungeon Mistress. XD

  • LIGHTNING BOLT! LIGHTNING BOLT!

  • I play DND and have ordered the Robotech rpg from rifts. I'm gonna get the macross dvd boxset redubbed. Sometime i would like to learn Gurps.

  • @krulamadule OH NO!

    *disappears into the shadows*

  • Vin Diesel plays D&D

  • i think dragons should be race!

  • @chaoswyvern17 See D&D 4.0's character race: Dragonborn. There you go, they finally gave in.

  • WTF? There is no beer involved in this board game.

  • So if jesus died for all man kind what happens to those people in countries that don't have any christian religions?

  • So when do we learn how to summon real demons? I can't find it anywhere in the skill books I got in my set. Bastard evangelicals lied to me! I wanna bring up old ones from hell to serve me already!

  • lol i hate how everyone thinknks DnD is for nerds. It's not, it's for people who want to be something great, but can't in real life. Though I'm a nerd so I can't say much...

  • @zeogud Dungeon and Dragons promotes critical thinking and creativity in terms of how you play out your quests. Its for brilliant and dynamic people. Not colourless dolts.

  • Ok this @ stuff is really starting to piss me off! What the hell the point of reading responses when you can't even find the friggin original post? They should've just left it the way it was!

  • shit the toy was made before the game lol i did know that

  • lol, we still have that old divider they show.

  • Nowaday. i fail to see anything offensive about being a "nerd". After all, we ARE nerd aren't we? XD

Though those one do look "wimpy" but hey, it was the early 80 so....

And i am more into Vampire and Call of Cthulhu stuff than D&D....

  • I'm female and play in 2 different D&D gaming sessions as well as LARP (Live Action Role Play) when I can. A female friend of mine is in the same said sessions and she LARPs more then I do as well as attends ren. fairs.

We must be mystical creatures since females don't do this kind of thing, or perhaps epic level illusion master specialists/masters of many forms?

  • @DisembodiedClarity screenshots or it didn't happen

  • @jedimouse I tried man, maybe my F-Lock is on, I hate it when that happens...

  • This is the worst acting I've ever seen. I mean it makes acting in current board game commercials look GOOD! >_<

  • Use your lightning bolt!

  • and then it lead to video games and people saying it's devil worship and whatever lol. Wish I had someone to play with

  • Funny I'm a female DM and I have a campain of all girls... guess we are mystical creatures or something...

  • noooooooooooooooooooooooo

    b

  • its 2011..just play wow damnit..lol

  • i love this game but play it with a bunch of idiots who take every opportunity they can get to rape and argue with each other

  • Jamie Gertz? The brunette with the braided hair? In a D&D commercial?

  • dnd is awsome but sadly not alot of people play in my area :(

  • this is the least exciting game of D&D ever

  • I might play the red box with my mom today, then with my mom and dad

  • Jajaja this marketing guys and their tests: thought that their target audience was limited to nerds, jajaja now i see why the stereotype of the roleplayer

  • For those that want to play, but have trouble finding a group, try going online.

Her is a great site to play online, with a great virtual table top application to use.

    rptools.net

  • Hey, the green shirt was Cameron from Ferris Bueller's..., and Jami Gertz in the pigtails.

  • so sad D&D wasn't, isn't and very possibly wont be popular in my country :/

  • wow this commercial is actually making dnd players look like nerds when sometimes their not

  • @EvilJaime notice he typed sometimes lol

  • those chicks were homely. D&D would have been so damn cool if they just would have put hot chicks in this commercial.

  • @mkultraviolent agreed

  • They had to show a girl playing, to reassure us nerdlings that such women existed.

  • @Armonis There is three woman in the group I play with. Sure, they are in the technical minority, but only just.

  • Holy Shit that was epic.

  • Is that Alan Ruck (aka Cameron form FBDO) at :10 and to the right of the DM?

  • im sry but 4th ed sucks it to simplified and made for video gamers my dad play dnd 1st ed then 2nd now 3.5 ed my brother runs dnd 3.5 and gamma world games and 3.5 for dnd is the best 2nd to complicated and 4th oversimplified

  • Level 5 drow rogue here. :]

  • Did any of you D and D players lose your virginity before you were 25?

  • @freedn2006 backwards hat detected

  • @freedn2006 I lost my virginity my senior year of high school and until I got with my wife, had eight other partners. I'm also a level 4 Human bard in a D&D game.

I got into tabletop gaming via the lead singer of the metal band Days of Massacre, whom I was a roadie for. We got my brother, a drummer in another metal band, into D&D and he plays a Shifter ranger. Both have had their share of women and are now in steady relationships.

  • NEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRDDDDDDDD

  • @kurai4u bbbbbbiiiiiiiggggggoooootttttt

  • I've always wanted to start up D&D, but sadly I've no idea how to go about it when all of my friends are staunchly against playing it :(

  • @DrTacoSurgeonAtLaw

    Find cooler friends.

  • @DrTacoSurgeonAtLaw Go online and find a group.

    rptools.net

  • WE HAVE TO GO BACK!

  • 00:08 I know it's just coincidence, but the spectacled guy in the green resembles an older Presto from the cartoon!

  • BTW, that's Jami Gertz in the pigtails!

  • @rozz6398 and Alan Ruck in the glasses.

  • HAHA!

  • deverian de hacer uno de estos comerciales utilizando a la yacusa chida jajaj q tenemos verdad david jajaj

  • so thats what vin diesel looked like when he was a kid

  • Omg seriously how did they find people that nerdy looking... Most DnD nerds I see today are nerdy in a different way. Is this what the groups were like?

  • Did they even try to cast cool looking kids? Maybe that's why gamers are stereotyped...

  • Clauss! enano nalgon, deja el tesoro!

Advanced D&D 2ºEd. , la version nos hace jugar nuestro dm beholder.

  • Wow Am I doing something wrong because I dont look nothing like those patetic nerds when Im playing Dungeons and Dragons, the ad assumes that everyone that plays this game looks like a dork

  • Well excuse me for looking like a dork.

    Ass.

  • XD D&D was so basic back then I've seen a 2nd gen monster guide most of the monsters (even the high lvl ones) would get pwned up the ass by 4th gen standards XD the only thing is they didn't have minis or pre made maps xP

  • You guys are spoiled. When I started playing in 78' all we had were the basics and boy did we have a good time.

Glad to see people are still playing and I just might give it another roll.........

  • Why are they portrayed as wimpy nerds? I'm offended.

  • @MonsieurSunshine what part of dungeons and dragons didnt you understand?

  • @MonsieurSunshine hey nerds were cool those days XD

  • Lol wtf, the kids don't even have character sheets or D20's in front of them. Haha.

  • Remember DragonSrike? =0) -> watch?v=PDF9mAHSWZg

  • ya i play D&D and its nothing like that we don't sit around and giggle and cheer ...its nowhere near as dorky as they make it out to be..its like they just wanted there players to get beat up lol

  • the 30 member all chicks D&D group in my area would be laughing at you right now.

  • Send them over to some of the D&D session in my area.

  • @Kathington THERE ARE NO WOMEN ON THE INTERNET EITHER!

We are figments of their imagination.

  • @Kathington Girl's only? What are they, five years old?

  • @Kathington 30 member d&d group????? I have played on and off for 14 years now, and never have i heard of such a thing. lol i wish i had. What city is this group in? Just wondering :>}

  • @Kathington Can I join? <3

  • @Kathington

It actually has only 6 members - they just weigh as much as 30.

  • @Kathington I play dungeons and dragon and IM a GIRL, and i play with 2 OTHER GIRLS, and 3 boys so hake that Xipholaris

  • @Kathington Agreed, the group I DM for is half women. Having the extra dynamic of different genders is great :-D

  • Lol, its become an underground hobby for certain, and sadly at that. However, its a guilty pleasure of many girls I know (Less guilty then others), and a more wide spread hobby then most people are willing to admit.

  • @Xipholaris I have two girls in my D&D group? It's not _that_ rare.

  • @Xipholaris OH SHIT I DONT EXIST! Oh wait you're just retarded.

  • @Xipholaris

My sister plays Dungeons and Dragons!

  • @Xipholaris i met my H O T wife playing D&D.

  • @Xipholaris

My girlfriend plays Dungeons and Dragon lmao.

  • @Xipholaris My incredibly sexy girlfriend also plays D&D. She also throws knives. I am so lucky!

  • whatever >.> female tiefling right here.

  • @konatawolf123 will you marry me?

  • Ha xDDD Sorry bud. I'm a lesbian.

  • @Xipholaris We actually have a school club for D&D. there is 6 Males and 3 Females. Your point is Invalid.

  • @Xipholaris of course they do, hot nerdy chicks who love D&D

  • @Xipholaris Huh, that's funny. As in my group, one of my friends who's a girl has been playing with us since we started.

  • @Xipholaris Umm, you're kidding right? I've seen plenty of D&Ders with vaginas for genitalia.

  • @Xipholaris Don't be so negative! In my group there are three girls and three guys including me. Anime and roleplaying are both geeky things and it brings us together :)

  • @Xipholaris

    You're an idiot.

  • @Xipholaris o hai. I'm a woman playing D&D. I play Neverwinter Nights, Oblivion, Baldur's Gate, Morrowind, and get together with my group to do sessions at my house. I've even been larping once or twice. Would you like to see my greatsword...? Oh wait, You're a sexist bastard. Nevermind; no greatsword for you :)

  • @AutumnGracy Use your bastard sword. I hear they're bastard bane.

  • @Xipholaris i play.

  • Once one of the guys we gamed with met the queen of the kingdom in the game and said to her "You have HUGE breast". I then remember the hail of arrows directed at his character from the queens bodyguards. It was so funny!

  • USE YOUR LIGHTNING BOLT

  • Based on the art on the box I think that is the 80s version of the game.

  • actually i believe this came from 1991

  • okay, if THAT was the commercial in the 80s, with that narration, no wonder there was "satanic" accusations. What, was vincent price unavailable? That narration sounds like the voices in my head. They should have gone with a bold viking voice or santa/wizard fairy king voice with more actiony animation if they wanted the same appeal without tripping the parent alarms.

  • @butchdeadlift10 It was just Don LaFontaine. AKA "The Voice of God."

  • its too bad that this is innacurate... a girl would never stray into the relm of Dn'D!!!

  • They should have shown what really happens when you meet that critter... dragon ends up having a lovely dinner, everyone else gets to re-roll their characters. Lol.

Oh, and that sounds like a fun game RikiRaccoon... I have a history of playing insan... erm... quirky magic users as well.

  • No wonder religious extremists thought this game was evil. This ad creeps me out.

  • Dungeons & Dragons is the best game.

  • Wish I had someone to play it with. D&D looks interesting.

  • @Symos Look up comic stores that host DnD encounters on the RPGA website

  • @Bungogin Tried, doesn't cover the UK much.

  • @Symos its pretty good if you have a good dm

  • @Symos Go online and find a group.

    rptools.net

  • @Symos Find somebody-check the internet.

  • @Symos NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • @Symos you can play with family or like any friends who you can convince to play !

  • @Symos it is a blast. Unfortunately im stuck DMing for now because im the only one in my group of friends who actually knows how to play so im running a campaign to teach them.

  • @Symos I need another player. I won't pay your plane ticket. Or boat, whatever, it's not that far.

  • Hm, i've never played D&D but i have wasted good time on Might and Magic.

  • i have a dwarf fighter named chris hansens.....beat that.

  • got a wizard in heavy cavalier's helmet and with a heavy crossbow. beaten :P

  • I had a friend play a insane necromancer, who's traveling companion was a zombie by the name of Sir Rotting Ham

  • @mrmcgiggles Does he hunt priests of Pelor?

  • @mrmcgiggles gnome druid named namfoodle jepetto

  • @mrmcgiggles Should have been a Halfling Assassin named Kris Hanson.

  • @mrmcgiggles Old man Cleric Named Henk bak lvl 20 with a cane sword....Beat that

  • when he said "use you lightingbolt," it reminded me of lightingbolt the video.

    liningbolt! liningbolt!

  • oh, and a friend of my plays live action role play in the woods with rubber swords every summer. He is mid twenties, bald and works as an accountant.

  • not surprised about his appearance

  • Ok I am coming out of the closet. I also play D&D. Im an half-elf dual wield ranger. Glad I got that of my chest.

  • CAZZATA

  • Wow! that was a long-ass time ago!

    I hardly remember that commercial.

    Still love D&D though!

  • ROFL I still play DND I'm a wind genasi swordmage

  • I'm a girl dungeon master, granted a newbie at it, and my party is more than half female.

So it happens. It's just odd, I suppose.

But then again, I never used to think male roleplayers existed online.

  • They clearly do, they're just mostly playing female characters...or worse, pretending to be female players.

  • More power to ya,

I hate people who freak out when we add girls to the party, it just makes them all mad and uncomfortable so we can't have them over

  • I think this commercial was made so nerdy and simple to counter the "evil and satanic" fears of parents who did not understand it...

  • Yea but maybe the people that play DandD have.

  • commericals like this keeps kids away from D&D

    plz no nerds in commercials

  • i agree

  • wtfbbq is this bull

  • heh, I leave 3 replies spread through 147 comments and it looks like I'm spamming the front page. anyways, thanks for sharing this, amusing. I missed out on D&D until later because it was "evil and satanic and you will kill your friends omgz!!!" .......*sigh* ....glad to be free of that blind brainwashing crap. GAME ON!

  • My poor ranger was eaten by a giant purple worm. I made a fail to listen check twice, and reflex. I WAS AN ELF FOR GOODNESS SAKES! T.T /mourn Ah, those were the days, crying on a peice of paper because the Dungeon Master was in too much of a bad mood to revive you because he was turned down for going to the dance that night because 'that one guy' asked her out before he had a chance to because he was too nervous. Wow, those were the days, when your imagination was allowed to go crazy. Oh wait...

  • Is the player character revived by default when used in a new campaign or with a different DM?

  • no when a player dies , the other characters can either try to have him ressurected or they move on .

  • mine is far superior quality. I really should have put the words D&D in it though to get the hits.

  • ummm... i've been wondering something for quite some time now: WHAT'S DUNGEONS AND DRAGONS?!?!?!?!?!?!!!!!!!?????!?!?!¿¡¿¡¡!?¿¡!?¿¡!?¿¡!?¿¡!?¿¡!?¿¡!

  • It's a roleplaying game...You choose what you want to become and fight monsters in a dungeon in your imagination!

  • Well that's awesome! ^_^

  • i miss gettin wasted and playing dnd in the basement with my friends

  • Game systems come and go, but the nerd forever remains.

  • i had both the basic and expert sets i let a friend borrow them, and i never got them back... anyways, thanks for the classic ad, that was cool, i wish i could remember actually seeing it on tv, but i don't...

  • Hells yeah dis game is hella tight dis one nigga was gettin all up in my grill and i'm like "chill nigga" and dis guy be goin on about some end of the world bull-shit and i was like LIGHTNING BOLT and fried dat nigga and i scored phat xp and this wand dat cast polymorph on a nigga

  • lmao.... <3

  • omg i lol'd

  • For those of you who are confiused, D&D was originaly a board-game.

Albeit an extremely complicated board game, but a board game non-the-less.

  • ...What do you mean it was a board game? 3rd edition was being designed as a board game, but that wasn't until the late 90's. If you want to talk about what D&D 'originally', it was a war game like Axis and Allies.

  • Axis and Allies is a... boardgame, based on world war 2.

  • The game was originally called "Kriegspiel" which roughly translates to "War Game", Gary Gygax(creator of D&D) was introduced to a new type of game led by Dave Arneson.

  • It looks to me like pen and paper roleplaying, as opposed to a board where you move figures around. That is, no board, just paper to record stats and other important info, with dice to resolve actions that happened in the story, but the game actually takes place in the imagination rather than on a board.

  • Yup. Bang on.

  • *whispers in ear* Use your lightning bolt... *LICK*

    O_O

  • Winner for the day.

  • UGH i hated that commercial... it was too old

  • HAHAHA

  • xD el comercial realmente estaba hecho para el publico "nerd" y "geek"

  • English Please?

  • Hey, didn't Tom Hanks go crazy in a movie that featured this game, it was called Mazes and Monsters I believe. He ended up not knowing where he was and killing some hobo.XP
