Plus, a terrible team drafted Iverson, whereas a contender with a good shooting guard (Eddie Jones) drafted Bryant. If a bad team had drafted Kobe, he probably would have played quite a bit as a rookie.
Teams passed on Bryant because drafting high school players wasn't quite in vogue yet and there were still plenty of college stars to choose from.
