lots of questions: why are they all on dyna's? ive known many MCs but none that all used the same model of bike, however many clubs do require american made bikes. 1000lbs? WTF? last i checked dyna's weighed around 700lbs. faerings are gay, and why are they all useing the same one? it just seems to me they went out and bught the cheapest full sized HDs they could. dynas are great but in a real MC there is going to be a ton of diversity and everyone being on the same bike is boring.

@mastakilla64 Every club is different and in alot of MC's the bikes are all as different as the rider but that being said, don't bad mouth a Dyna b/c they are solid and efficient. I remember hearing Sonny Barger (one of the most well known members of HAMC) say don't join an MC if you want to be rich. Some guys can't drop $30k on a dressed Harley. Dynas are comfortable enough to do a long run and less expensive.

@WagenmannJ - I'm pretty sure the "black thing" is an Arlen Ness Fairing. Some guys call it a "cafe fairing" or a "1/4 fairing". You can purchase these from any aftermarket dealer, such as J&P or Dennis Kirk. If you really want a bike like Jax, be sure to get your T-Bars from West Coast T-Bars and don't forget your baggy jeans and white sneakers ;)

@skater3251 None of the bikes are FXR's. The FXR was a rubber mounted bike made from 1982-1994 and in limited production as the FXR2 and FXR3 in 1999 and a FXR4 in 2000. Someone may correct me, but I always understood that "Dynas" were FXD as opposed to the FXR. As for the Dynas, I would look for a 2007 and newer, because they will have the 6 speed tranny and a 96 cubic inch motor. I'm not sure if that makes it better, but I would consider it more fun to ride.
A dyna superglide weighs 685lbs wet. The largest harley ultra classic weighs 830lbs. If buddy says he has a 1500lbs bike, he must ride a boss hoss 572 with a blower and 100lbs of extra chrome. Get real guys. If you can't pick it up ya can't ride it!!
Well if you watch the show all of the charters have different bikes but all the members of each charter have to same bike. They use "ugly" bikes beacuse they are simple when you are running guns you don't want alot of flash you want function. I love all their bikes I am a fan and a rider and a bike with a full gas tank can weigh up to 1000 lbs. My bike weighs about 1500

I don't like that basicly the bikes are all the same, except for bobby's and the trike. All Dynas? Everybody's got the "drag fairing" (I think actually a cafe racer fairing) I've never seen any club where the bikes all look the same like that. Some guys would have sportsters, soft tails, street glides, road glides, ect..... You can tell that one guy designed all of the bikes. I've kinda taken a liking to the drag bars on tall risers (also you can get the same look with tall "window bars")
@weg2rt I'd have to disagree friend, most club's require 1200 or larger, Nothing wrong with a sportster, In my opinion the sporty is more of the working man's bike, It's more affordable, larger aftermarket choices, can lay down just as much power if not more than any big twin, Just because a Sporty has a smaller c.i. than the dynas,& softails doesn't ruin it,Old Shovelheads were only 1200s,Pans & knuckles were only 900-1000ci,you'd be surprised how many MC's have sportys,The man makes the bike.

Loved this show.The actors and dialogue were top notch.The bikes and background creations ie the clubhouse,patches ect. ..excellent.But this last season,what the fuck is up with these storys? The story lines were impluasible,boring and so convoluted it was hard to follow and i just lost interest.Look at the Boardwalk Empire series,has even more characters and storys and yet IT works.

Seems like there are three types of people here: real riders, fans of the show, and fans converting to real riders. @MrEastEmpire a 2010 Dyna Super Glide in Vivid black would cost 11,999 if you get it from a Harley Dealership, Tbars will cost you extra, if you want a bike similar to the shows bikes I would recomend getting a Dyna Super Glide Sport or a FXDX, It comes blacked out. The latest year the fxdx comes in is a 2003, but getting a fxdx that's already blacked out is a lot easier than getting an fxd then having to powdercoat the whole bike black like the show.
am a bit amazed when Perlman says his bike weighs a 1000 pounds and takes three men to pick it up. All the bikes are Dynas. These are not heavy bikes. None is over 650 pounds. Any rider knows how to pick up his bike by himself. There are plenty of vids on youtube showing how. Back to the bike, squatting, and using the legs. I'm 63 and can pick mine up by myself. feh.

I really want a Harley Dyna like jaxx and i found one but it doesn't have that black thing on the front of the bike like jaxx. sorry i am ignorant but can someone explain his bike to me?

@WagenmannJ - I'm pretty sure the "black thing" is an Arlen Ness Fairing. Some guys call it a "cafe fairing" or a "1/4 fairing". You can purchase these from any aftermarket dealer, such as J&P or Dennis Kirk. If you really want a bike like Jax, be sure to get your T-Bars from West Coast T-Bars and don't forget your baggy jeans and white sneakers ;)

@skater3251 None of the bikes are FXR's. The FXR was a rubber mounted bike made from 1982-1994 and in limited production as the FXR2 and FXR3 in 1999 and a FXR4 in 2000. Someone may correct me, but I always understood that "Dynas" were FXD as opposed to the FXR. As for the Dynas, I would look for a 2007 and newer, because they will have the 6 speed tranny and a 96 cubic inch motor. I'm not sure if that makes it better, but I would consider it more fun to ride.

A dyna superglide weighs 685lbs wet. The largest harley ultra classic weighs 830lbs. If buddy says he has a 1500lbs bike, he must ride a boss hoss 572 with a blower and 100lbs of extra chrome. Get real guys. If you can't pick it up ya can't ride it!!

Well if you watch the show all of the charters have different bikes but all the members of each charter have to same bike. They use "ugly" bikes beacuse they are simple when you are running guns you don't want alot of flash you want function. I love all their bikes I am a fan and a rider and a bike with a full gas tank can weigh up to 1000 lbs. My bike weighs about 1500

I don't like that basicly the bikes are all the same, except for bobby's and the trike. All Dynas? Everybody's got the "drag fairing" (I think actually a cafe racer fairing) I've never seen any club where the bikes all look the same like that. Some guys would have sportsters, soft tails, street glides, road glides, ect..... You can tell that one guy designed all of the bikes. I've kinda taken a liking to the drag bars on tall risers (also you can get the same look with tall "window bars")

@weg2rt I'd have to disagree friend, most club's require 1200 or larger, Nothing wrong with a sportster, In my opinion the sporty is more of the working man's bike, It's more affordable, larger aftermarket choices, can lay down just as much power if not more than any big twin, Just because a Sporty has a smaller c.i. than the dynas,& softails doesn't ruin it,Old Shovelheads were only 1200s,Pans & knuckles were only 900-1000ci,you'd be surprised how many MC's have sportys,The man makes the bike.

@pepisbom Probably a dyna. Unless you get a hard tail to start, you'll need to get a weld on hard tail and a springer front end.

Loved this show.The actors and dialogue were top notch.The bikes and background creations ie the clubhouse,patches ect. ..excellent.But this last season,what the fuck is up with these storys? The story lines were impluasible,boring and so convoluted it was hard to follow and i just lost interest.Look at the Boardwalk Empire series,has even more characters and storys and yet IT works.

Seems like there are three types of people here: real riders, fans of the show, and fans converting to real riders. Riders hate the fans cause they think they dont know anything about the culture and they feel invaded, fans hate the riders because they just seem like uptight pricks, and the converts are stuck somewhere in the middle. Look the show kicks ass and its breathing a HUGE breath into the lifestyle, enjoy it and roll with it, those not cut out for riding will fall off eventually anyways

@MrEastEmpire a 2010 Dyna Super Glide in Vivid black would cost 11,999 if you get it from a Harley Dealership, Tbars will cost you extra, if you want a bike similar to the shows bikes I would recomend getting a Dyna Super Glide Sport or a FXDX, It comes blacked out. The latest year the fxdx comes in is a 2003, but getting a fxdx that's already blacked out is a lot easier than getting an fxd then having to powdercoat the whole bike black like the show.

am a bit amazed when Perlman says his bike weighs a 1000 pounds and takes three men to pick it up. All the bikes are Dynas. These are not heavy bikes. None is over 650 pounds. Any rider knows how to pick up his bike by himself. There are plenty of vids on youtube showing how. Back to the bike, squatting, and using the legs. I'm 63 and can pick mine up by myself. feh.
