  • VILLA BOYS PASADENA SGV SUR

  • I am 57 years old. Any one born in the latter 60's and beyond when you listen to these oldies, listen with an open mind. do not judge, nor compare these tunes of old to those you have today. Because they are from an era you will never be able to understand and picture in your mind. In other words they are other generations memories. Just enjoy. For example: anything before 1955 means something to those who lived during those times, and for me it is just enjoyment.

  • Happy Birthday, baby.

  • A great 1957 hit....

  • I suppose any one of a number of groups/singers could perform this song, but the lead singer for the Tune Weavers is 'right on' with this version. She blends just the right amount of 'drama', emotion, (and even sarcasm) while rendering a pretty melody that is very well arranged and perfectly paced.

  • Lead singer on this cut is Margo Sylvia. She's from Boston. This was a hit back in 1957, and still sounds fresh today, fifty years later. Amazing!

  • I was sad to hear she has passed on....oldguy

  • Totally agree. Margo's singing of this song (which she also wrote with her brother Gilbert Lopez) was perfect.

  • heard this on the radio at work and had to write down the lyrics right away....great tune
