  • Great video! Open my understanding.. Thanks for posting....

  • @579steven - you're welcome.

  • rnography is helping destroy humanity people stop watching it, make it fall apart once no one watches it, it goes out of business..... it creates addiction, distraction and mental illness.....................pe ople if things keep being this way the world is even going to get more out of control.

copy and paste this message and send it to everyone you can. Please doing little good things, can make a huge difference in society......

  • @Benjamingutierrez408 - You are correct. If everyone stopped supporting pornography, it would go out of business. Unfortunately, this will never happen because of the huge marketing budgets and their marketing approaches. We can all dream and this would be a great dream come true.

  • Comment removed

  • @KnowImillian - You are correct. There are many people that experience it this way but not all and, unfortunately, there are many children that are victims because of the perpetrators indulgence of pornography. Sadly, we see this every day.

  • @SilverGalford - Boredom is a one of the things that leads to pornography. We call it B.L.A.S.T.

    Bored, Lonely, Angry, Stressed, Tired

  • i will believe masturbation is addictive when i see proof that there are withdrawal symptoms. just because you do something habitually does not mean that you're addicted to it. saying that someone who masturbates daily or even multiple times daily is addicted to masturbating is like saying someone who plays video games every day is addicted to playing video games or someone who brushes their teeth is addicted to brushing their teeth. sex is something people need.

  • @damagicalbj - We couldn't agree with you more, that sex is an important aspect of our lives but pornography distorts this. Sex is meant to be used to bring a husband and wife close together. There are many withdrawal symptoms that addicts have expressed, one being the complete lack of focus.

  • @kellum634 - Long-term sobriety is possible but it takes time and focus on recovery.

  • The hardcore pornography industry (to the mass consumer market) was and is a CIA movement to deliberately lock people (actually men) into this robotic, drone-like state of existence, haphazardly "bustin' nuts" on an daily basis. Every time you 'pop one out', you're simultaneously becoming dumber and dumber as you gradually destroy the quality of your sperm. Instead of "blowing the load" on some tasteless porn flick on the net, utilize that sexual energy for something more creative and pure.

  • @CognitionPrime - I don't know about the CIA being involved but it wouldn't surprise us due to its addictive content.

  • DR. i just wanted to say iam porn and masturbating free for like 3 month,i have trained my brain, even when i watch porns the whole day i wouldnt touch him. guys you can do it too ! thank you DR.

  • @neutralizer28 - thank you, and congratulations on the sobriety you have achieved. Don't give up.

  • I have had a serious porn habit since about 12. Tell me can porn addiction really leave you so drained that it destroys your motivation?

  • @Bassyswing1 - Porn addiction can completely alter a life and throw it completely out of balance, but their is hope and confidence in recovery.

  • Man by watching porn.. im hurting my self every day :( ... HELP SOMEONE PLEASE !! .. Or ill lose my manhood !!you know what I mean!!! I cant just stop!!!!!!!!!! 1 time a day!! :o

  • @kakacricket - You might want to look into the InnerGold Treatment System. Check out our website. This system has been helping individuals world-wide gain long-term sobriety.

  • Porn addiction can be easily "cured" or treated with drugs. Very simple and it works.

  • @nobleheight - Everyone wants a quick fix but this does not exist. Many individuals try things like this and only transfer their addiction to drugs.

  • @innergold1000 There are plenty of safe drugs that are known to kill a person's sex drive. And these drugs are known to be safe for long-term use. I don't understand why you say they don't exist.

  • @nobleheight - We are saying a quick fix does not exist. Drugs have so many side affects, some that we aren't even aware of. We recommend learning how to manage the addictive part of the brain, instead of taking drugs. We have had individuals who have gone to drugs as a quick fix but only to relapse, as soon as they miss taking the drugs. It might be mental but this is what happens. That's why we say, learn to manage, IT the addictive portion of the brain.

  • Dr what your doing is good. Thank you very much for the concern and contributing to the society.

  • @dominguezmarkanthony - Thank you. Please let other people know about this video. We appreciate the support and want to help as many people as possible. Our goal is to Change the World One Person at a Time.

  • Thank you, this video really is helping me out a lot with my cross dressing addiction. It's not pleasant, degrading yourself even as you're aware of what you're doing to yourself. And Im so ashamed that my transgendered identity has warped itself into a deprived sexual fetish.

Will do everything in my power to remove that aspect so I can wear a skirt without dirtying myself in it.

    -Brandon, troubled youth of 17.

  • @RicoZanderas - We would encourage you to seek out a youth counselor and incorporate the InnerGold principles into your life. We have many individuals who have said that the InnerGold program is the only thing that has helped them learn to manage their addiction.

  • I can relate to this, my porn addiction is horrible and I get caught at least once a week D:

  • now i HATE masturbation. Thank you sooo much for this video innerGold. This is truly a treasure!!!!

  • @headfonez - You're welcome.

  • Hi all my friend

In the religion of Islam , porn addiction and its business both are taboo, thats why its the religion of whole humanity not for only muslims.

Our GOD (ALLAH) knows better than us.

  • @imranthesimpleboy - I agree, God, knows better than us. Unfortunately, sexual addiction issues like pornography affect all races, religions and cultures. We have several individuals struggling with pornography addiction that belong to the religion of Islam but they don't say anything. They have thanked us, over and over again for providing some help.

  • @DonnyZodac - If you go to our site, you can purchase a treatment system, which is helping many, world-wide find long-term sobriety.

  • so the pre frontal cortex is what separates us from Chimps

  • @MsTommyknocker - The prefrontal cortex is the part of the brain that helps us make choices.

  • I find this video very helpful because it breaks down the scientific based motivation behind pornography addiction. It is makes no statements regarding "right" or "wrong" behavior concerning pornography, statements that I believe are counterproductive. One thing I realized a long time ago was that telling myself "I will never do that again" or "I have to stop this" never, ever, worked for me. In fact this attitude was counterproductive, and usually always failed.

  • @melTorino You are correct. Saying, "Never," causes the limbic region of the brain to go into survival mode and fight back.

  • age 8 is when i started looking at porn and it jus got more and more over the years to the point where i was failing some classes in high school cause i was watching porn so much i mean i watch like tv with chips and everything

  • @MrIrishlogic Thats interesting. Can you tell us please how long are you porn free at the moment?

  • This is an excellent explanation of how the addiction hijacks the survival instinct of the brain. The lecturer breaks it down so a 5yr old can explain it. And he gives a great explanation on how "strengthening your frontal cortex" while accepting the fact that you're going to be triggered regardless, is right on the money. I've seen lots of videos on the topic of addiction, this one spells it out clearest and simplest. Excellent

  • @ravenclaw67 Thank you. We really appreciate it.

  • i wanna quit :/

  • my bf is a porn addict,he says he just watches it to "relax" not "release"....i don't believe it & he always says he'll stop but doesn't & he thinks he can control it,in other words he doesn't want me on his case, right? it's not like he even treats me right either. is there any truth in why he says he watches it? what can be done?

  • @HelenaChristensen Pornography addiction has destroyed many relationships and we continually receive emails stating they want it to stop and go away. Addiction does not work that way. If the addict wants to stop, we can help them but if they don't there's no commitment and no reason to stop, until they hit absolute rock bottom. Chemicals are released that do calm the body down but this is also very addictive, just like drugs. There are very few people who can stop this behavior, without help.

  • @innergold1000 this chemical reaction u talk about, that happens just by watching & without "releasing" if u know what i mean?

so how can he be helped?i know it has to come from him,but if i can at least help point him in the right direction.... :(

  • @HelenaChristensen The key to someone getting help is them having a personal desire for help. If they have no desire, then you are limited other than recommending a program such as InnerGold. All addicts go through the stage of Denial before Acceptance of their addiction. The difficulty so often is that the stage of Denial can last a long time. That part of the brain that wants to keep the addiction alive thrives on Denial.

  • @HelenaChristensen

I use to get mad when my g/f wouldn't go to bed, so I could watch pornography. It led to many different problems, I wouldnt want to have intercourse with her, It branched out beyond pornography and I would seek out pictures of women online, I would met them have sex with them and the cycle would begin over and over again. On a normal day I would watch pornography 5-8 times a day. You tell yourself you want to stop and you can stop but it just doesnt work that way.

  • you will not believe how much this video has helped me. i am a college kid and i've been doing about C average lately b/c i was always bz on internet waisting time.. from tomorrow i will not spend any more than 1 hour on internet, hopefully i can defeat myself....

  • @818doodooroo We wish you the best but if this is something that you have been doing for a long time, you may need some additional support.

  • @veryfreshsub We edit comments that are crude. We edit comments that are triggers to others. We also edit comments that use foul language. Our goal is to help those seeking help to learn to manage their addictive behaviors. Your comment will not be viewed because it falls within these categories.

  • I found the CURE for all addictions and I have proof for this claim. Click on my name and witness Powerful Stories of Freedom. I personally know and have witnessed over 100 addicts who have found True and Lasting FREEDOM after being enslaved by their addictions for so long. I have been through many programs for my addiction, but have never found so much Hope, Joy, Peace, and Love than I have in the program I am in now. And the people I know who have given their stories are experiencing the same!

  • @mdcombs79 we are very glad that you have found something that works for you.

  • hi i really like your videos. and this video has really helped me. Im 22 years old and have had this struggle since i was 16. it started i think cause i was homeschooled and lonely and depressed. i didnt have many friends. But what really bothers me is the images that pop up in my head whenever i feel lonely, and upset. I hate them, cause they make me feel guilty. i was wondering if you had any advice for that, like what to do about these images?

  • Loneliness is absolutely one of pornography's greatest triggers. Feeling an element of guilt is not a bad thing as long as it is healthy. Often, we see individuals shaming themselves which is different than guilt. Guilt should be a positive feeling driving one to desire healthier activities. Shame generally creates feelings of worthlessness and isolation. (response split)

  • The fact is that pornography addiction effects millions and no one is alone in this battle. Learning from slips and moving forward with confidence is vital to recovery. Unhealthy guilt or shaming becomes part of the addictive cycle. We are all human and sexuality is an innate part of all of us. It is normal and natural to find pornography appealing but the fact is that it never truly satisfies and shame will drive one back to it again and again over time. (response split)

  • Be accountable but on the same note, do not beat yourself up emotionally during recovery.

  • @MakeMeUp66 First, don't beat yourself up. You have taken many years putting those images in it is going to take time to manage them. We call it mindfulness and awareness: (simplified) Recognize the thought and say, "There's that thought or image again." (recognized it so you are mindful that it is there) "I am going to choose to think or do something else so that the thought will go away. (awareness, making that conscious effort to turn your thoughts to a different direction.) It takes time.

  • hi i really like your videos. and this video has really helped me. But i struggle with certain thoughts and images that pop up especially when im upset and lonely. I was homeschooled for many years and didnt have many freinds and depressed and i think thats when it started, i was about 16. Im 22 now and i still struggle..and one of my main problems is the images that i find discusting, stuck in my head, and they make me feel guilty. I was wondering if you have any advice for that?

  • Thanks for this video...I'm trying to stop pornography for moral and religious reasons its very hard..I appreciate this! at 20 years old outside influences are very strong this is pretty tough

  • @MrNYCATL this is one of the hardest addictions to learn to manage because it strikes at the core of who we are. Using the InnerGold Treatment System, there have been individuals world-wide learn how to maintain long-lasting sobriety.

  • its easy to walk in the pouring rain without shivering -_-

  • Could also talk about how some don't think they have a problem due to unconscious defence mechanisms but are depressed/anxious for no apparent conscious reason. Probably because they would feel so bad about admitting these risky, immoral secrets to themselves that they disort the truth and believe it is normal to watch more risky pornography. Triggers may bring up this conflict unconsciously which may be manifested as depressive thoughts such as I don't deserve to live, but they don't know why.

  • Is this and Anti Social Personality Disorder Linked at all?

  • the BLAST theory that when we give in to the limbic system makes so much sense. just like after 9/11 people started gobbling up comfort foods.

this is a very good, clear and concise lecture.

also habits that form neurological pathways stress on the fact that we must consciously elevate our thoughts, emotions and actions at all times.

    thank you.

  • I don't think, that what he said counts just for porn addiction.I think it counts for every addiction or obsession. So in a sense, porn addicts have same proccess going on in theyr brain, than WoW addicts :P World of Porncraft, haha

  • @cyberdaemon You are correct. This relates to a lot more than just porn. If someone follows this and learns to master their brain, they can improve their business and all areas of their life.

  • looking forward to part two.

  • well said. thumbs up. ^^

  • Many programs offer miracle cures or unrealistic guarantees, be cautious. Programs that offer education w/ a system for treatment to be implemented in life are indicators of a good program. We encourage individuals to receive individual counseling when possible. Results vary for living consistently sober. Some individuals begin living sober and continue down that path very quickly. Others take time to retrain the brain & develop healthy patterns; those who stick w/ recovery find hope & sobriety.

  • AWESOME VIDEO!!!!!!!!!!THIS GUY KNOWS WHAT HE IS TALKING ABOUT!!!!!!!!!

  • I MUST SAY YOU HAVE FOUND THE CORE ROOT OF THE PROBLEM WHY PEOPLE STRUGGLE WITH THIS ADDICTION.I BELIEVE 100% WHAT IS ON YOUR VIDEOS WILL HELP ADDICTS LEARN HOW TO MANAGE THIS ADDICTION.

  • All addictions need to be stopped for the principle of what is best for All

  • thank you for the video, helps me understand what i have better. just recently have had a realization that im addicted, and though ive had these realizations before, this ones is the one thats going to stick. I love my girlfriend and want her to be the one in the future, and i dont want pornography to ruin what i have. It may lead to abuse, infadelity, and hell, plenty of other bad stuff im sure.

Best of luck to anyone suffering

  • Thank you, and due to some further insight from one of our friends and clients, we have increased our acronym to include "B.L.A.S.T. O.F.F."

    Bored, Lonely, Angry, Stressed, Tired

    Overwhelmed, Frustration & Fear

We appreciate his insight and wanted him to know we are listening.

  • The fact that our body reacts so fast to stimuli really underscores the importance of making sure we are careful what we watch.

  • how can i start quitting an addiction

  • @hockeyfanz6191 Learn the principles it takes to retrain the brain so that you can retrain your addict (Limbic region of the brain) to no longer use the addiction for survival.

  • @innergold1000 what kind of prgram do you need to stop porno addiction. how long before one might be able to recieve results from counsel?

  • @hockeyfanz6191 You need Jesus Christ to set you free from sin's grasp on your life. Only He can set you free. Do a YouTube search on "Lead Singer of Korn Brian Welch Testimony" and listen to what he has to say about his addiction, and being unable to defeat it until He asked Jesus Christ into his heart and life. Satan will always have a grip on your life no matter what until you come to and find Jesus, and give your life to Him. Only He can set the captives free.

  • @hockeyfanz6191 I made a few free videos, where I outline what I did to stop.

  • how can i start to control myself? i started when i was 14 years old..very time i say to myself im going to quit but i just can't..

  • @hockeyfanz6191 It all begins with the desire to stop first. Then you must learn the principles we discuss in the InnerGold treatment system and apply them in your life. They have been proven and are helping individuals world wide. You can learn more on our site.

  • This is very interesting!

  • The B.L.A.S.T thing is so on the money. Whenever i feel down and out, tired, etc. is the times when my desire to watch porn suddenly kicks in. That's why I tell myself to get good rest, exercise, and do things with my life that make me happy. I reward myself the longer I go without looking up porn. I've been lapsing every 6 days, but I am on my 7th day now, and today I almost lapsed because I was feeling sore. But I didn't :) If you're feeling down, don't use the computer basically.

  • UR TALKING TO ME SIR I TRY VERY VERY VERY HARD TO STOP VIEWING PORNOGRAPHY AND MASTURBATION I got into it out of curiosity was born into a christain home my father and mother are devoted christains i tried hard to stop but i feel guilt and i try to stop but i cant stop it i started viewing porn at the age of 13 pls i need help pls

  • @lustntee Sexual addiction issues are the toughest to learn how to manage because they strike at the core of who we are, sexual beings. We encourage you to learn more about InnerGold's system, it may help you like it has helped many others. Innergold (dot) com/masturbation (dot) cfm

  • There is Hope for the Hopeless. Reformers Unanimous is a faith-based addictions program. We have 770 chapters across the United States and an 82% success rate. Check our Channel out @Ruinternational

  • Glad to see more people with a desire to help others.

  • is this possible that the smarter part of our brain likes the addiction on concious level but it shows its guilt and frustration subconciously??...i mean i like things for long and long period and i didnt feel any guilt conciously but i become very shy, nervous and coward person in my routine life...resistence from my other part you are referring agitates very little on concious level......or it is just my false assumption..?

  • @calmguy1 The logical/conscious part of our brain, better known as the pre-frontal cortex, does become broken down over time. It can become broken down to the point where it begins numbing the feelings of guilt/regret and replaces those feelings. So yes, you are correct and in fact, the subconscious part of the brain becomes the more dominant part. The danger in this can manifest in many ways but nervousness and extreme shyness certainly can be a few of many ways this is manifest.

  • I have been an internet porn addict for over 10 years but only recently come to realise it. Unfortunately, I suffer from a cluster of other issues as well - depression being the most serious. My problem is not knowing where to start; which one should I tackle first or should I try and handle all at the same time? For instance, is my porn consumption a product of my depression or a cause of it. I'd appreciate any ideas.

  • Most addicts suffer from many different addictions or issues. One thing we have found is that when someone is able to start learning to manage their addictive behaviors, they find other issues starting to resolve. Due to legal reasons, we cannot give any specific advice unless you were a client and we were able to get your entire history.

  • If you are interested in this, you can go to our web site listed above. Even if you are not interested in a session, I would encourage you to go to our site and sign up for all of the free stuff and start learning some basics to manage your addiction.

  • I believe I am an addictive and excessive person but I can drink for years and then stop for years but this masturbation addiction I have not been able to stop even though I have a wife.

  • I have been addicted since my pre-teens. I have spent alot of money on porn sites. I have slept with three different call girls in the past few years. I need help ;(

  • @Noremorse10 Jesus Christ can help

  • @Noremorse10 This addiction is affecting many people. The InnerGold system have helped many individuals, even people in your circumstances learn to manage this destructive addiction.

  • I need help what is a way i can try to stop? I truly need help...

  • @asdfasdfasdfasdf151 you can go to the site listed above on the video and utilize the free services to begin your healing.

  • The biggest problem is the accessibility, I was born in 77 and started watching porn in the late 80's and early 90's, it got a lot worse than before, it looks like they're taking it further and further, what use to be taboo is expectable now, what will it be in 10 or 20 years, scary.

  • You are correct, pornography is the toughest addiction to overcome because it is accessible in every household, free of charge and in many different forms. What starts out as simple curiosity, for many, leads to full fledge addiction.

With the acceptance of more and more, society is allowing it to gradually creep into every aspect of life. This is why it is so important to learn to manage the the triggers because they are generated in all aspects.

  • I don't want to look at it anymore...but I don't want to look at it any less, either!

  • Common struggle between the two-part brain. A person cannot sit on a fence; unfortunately one side will give. I hope you find the strength when you need it.

  • I was totally joking. I do not have a problem with it at all. I look at porn when I want to. I am not struggling in the slightest.

  • OH!, holy moley you guys made me realize

i have an addiction to porn because im afraid of being hurt by another girl like before!

,do you have any suggestions for self healing after curing porn addiction?

  • Pornography addiction is not something you can crush, kill or destroy it is ongoing management that helps a person to gradually and consistently avoid the stimuli and know how to handle the stimuli when it occurs. If you have not already done so, go to our site and get the free stuff we offer to help you maintain sobriety. If you need extra help, our treatment system gives you tools and techniques on how to handle your addictive voice.

  • You are Gods people,

So don't let it be said that any of you

are immoral or indecent or greedy

Don't use dirty or foolish or filthy words

Instead say how thankful you are.

  • You are correct, just because someone struggles with an issue does not mean they are indecent, greedy repulsive people. It is a challenge that they must learn to manage and that is our goal to teach them how to manage IT so they can realize the greatness in themselves.

  • Your reply and your video is awesome!

Thanks for all you are doing!!

    5 stars of David*****!

May the LORD be with you!

  • I looked at it alot until I met this girl that meant a lot to me. I never had the desire to look at it when we were an item. The moment I realized she didn't like me anymore that urge came back to look. I am a virgin and would like to stay that way until I get married. My point in saying that is that me and this girl never got sexual and I still never had the urge until she was gone. What is up with this?

  • Everyone gets triggered in different ways at different times. What is important is identifying your triggers and taking the steps to live sober. So "what is up with this" is that you have discovered a large trigger in your life and your brain responded. The good news is that there are a lot of people finding sobriety despite how or when the addiction developed.

  • We see individuals become able to channel that energy and achieve greater goals as well. The process of self-mastery is not an overnight thing. One should not shame themselves as the progress through the process. It does take time and a concerted effort. We encourage you to follow the process taught in the InnerGold Treatment System, if you truly desire to achieve the goal of self-mastery.

  • The feelings you discussed are common. The increased confidence and mood that accompanies self-mastery are a common theme. The "burning" or built up sexual feelings are also common. The fact is that the overwhelmingly recurring theme of increased confidence and happiness that self-mastery brings is what we see time and time again. Despite all the differing opinions on self-mastery that exist, we express an opinion based on what we see brings the greatest long-term happiness.

  • hey um im not sure if i am but i look at it three times a day, and it doesnt really even come near to controlling my life but i have once cancelled plans with friends. i usally do it out of being bored.

  • how can i stop my addiction asap

  • Addiction is not something you can crush, kill or destroy it is something you must learn to control and manage. You must retrain your brain to realize you don't need that addiction for survival.

  • My question is: Isn't porn addiction just as bad as let's say.... movie addiction, music addiction, book addiction etc? Because it definitely does not harm the body in any direct way like cigarettes or alcohol.

If the aforementioned types of entertainment do the same thing for a person what porn does for an addict, can they become just as harmful?

  • Addiction to anything is not good because addiction means it is controlling your life. You want to be in control not an addiction or behavior.

Addiction is training the survival portion of the brain to use the substance (i.e. sex, drugs, gambling, etc.) as a form of survival. We must learn to retrain the brain that we don't need the substance for survival.

  • anyone with half an ounce of healthy cynicism can be cured of "porn addiction" simply by learning that the "adult industry"'s annual turnover is greater than the entire debt of sub-saharan africa.. i'd personally rather see starving african children getting fed and educated than seeing some roid junkie cumming on some dead-eyed slut's tits.. just me...

  • I am curious of those who say counseling or therapy will not help, but those addicts should seek the Lord instead? It seems religious organization seems to be want to take control on the issue on pornography.

  • It is important to implement both. Part of therapy is realizing there is something much greater and each person is of extreme value. There are some that seem to be able to utilize only the Lord's help but there are others that need more.

We feel the Lord has provided resources and technology for those people, hence showing His love for all.

  • Very nice video, some idiout was saying how there isnt any proof or observations on Porn addiction, and masterbaition thanks for the video.

  • Wow what an insightful video, thank you. We all need to know this or be reminded how this addiction works and anchors in our lives..

  • Thank you. This addiction is sweeping the world and is getting worse by the minute.

  • I told my husband of my wish for a divorce and he finally admitted to having a 20 year long porn addiction which had begun before I met him and I was totally unaware of. By then, the years of lies were too much and I was unwilling to stand by his side. He had shown me how deceptive he was and I thought I could never trust this man again. Now he is dating. I can still see his credit card activity on our online banking. He was engaged to a girl and joining multiple adult sites per month.

  • Pornography addiction, left to grow and fester, truly can be devastating. The loss experienced through these addictions is felt daily and thousands are experiencing the pain they cause.

Our goal is to bring treatment to any and all who are willing. As devastating as pornography addiction can be, there is hope for many who are willing to go through treatment. Our hope is that those with these addictions will take the steps and begin treatment.

  • how to get rid of the addiction from the nervous system?

  • Keep up the good work. This is still misunderstood and I know, not always even acknowledged as an addiction. As the wife of a porn addict its hard to find people to talk to who understand. I often hear things like that I must not have been giving him what he wanted or "Why didn't you watch with him?" Those comments show a fundamental misunderstanding of the problem. My response is, "If I told you my ex was an alcoholic, would you suggest I could help him get better by drinking with him?".

  • You are correct, this is extremely misunderstood. There are many therapists that tell you that it is ok and part of exploring who you are. This is far from the truth. Pornography will lead a person down a slippery path and eventually they will fall. When they fall that is when the most change can take place, if the addict acknowledges he has a problem.

Kudos for standing your ground and not watching it. Pornography is damaging mentally, emotionally and socially.

  • I so hope that this will never happened to me when I get married...I'm scared, I know people tend to make certain things as an excuse just because his spouse is not there for him when he wants something and allow themselves to be turned on by porn materials.

The scariest part is no matter how attractive you are...he will still manipulate himself by watching porn (it's because he's addicted?) it will eventually ruin your relationship. I just realized...

    THANK YOU FOR SHARING...

  • I was married for 14 years to a distant man who chose to spend most of his time locked away in his office. I thought he was introverted and made all kinds of excuses for him. I dragged him to years of therapy to work on our marriage. I thought I was somehow not measuring up and blamed myself. Finally, I realized I had slipped into a deep depression and was no longer being a good mother.

  • It seems to me that, especially in the U.S., the people who point out high potential risks in pornography are named as christian fundamentalists our born again fanatics and so on. By contrast, I strongly believe to some people, PORN IS A HIGHLY ADDICTIVE DRUG, and it can seriously affect and damage their own life, causing harm for the whole society. Blaming those who state this as fundamentalists or terrorist is a plain nonsense stereotype.

  • pornography, is evil in so many ways that it does more damage to the brain than what crack and other physical drug substances could do to the body over time.

sometimes I wish i could take that thrill back, that i got when i first saw it at 12. because it is a drug addiction within itself. it cuts your social life off. stuff like this should be known in the media that porn is the next new drug addiction and should be treated in a since that the crack epidemic was treated during the 80's

  • HAHAHA, got you're so brainwashed

  • jjtiojohn12, you are correct. Those who are addicted to pornography, easily fuel the addiction by closing their eyes and reliving what they just watched. It starts to control all aspects of their life and no one knows it until it is too late. Either they lose a good relationship, their job or some kind of negative consequence and that is when they start to look for help. It is not to late for them. It is always a difficult fight but it is not to late.

  • You are like many others that wish they could take back that first time of viewing pornography. For some people, that is all it took was seeing it once. That is why we are trying to get this information out to the world as fast as we can. There are many people struggling with this issue and are not getting the help they need. A lot of the help they are receiving is actually fueling their addiction. They are trying to crush, kill destroy the addiction and the limbic system is fighting back.

  • @jjtiojohn12 yes, I first encountered it at age 12 as well. The lust is as poisonous an intoxication and one that ruins everything on its miserable illusional path. Now more than ever, our youth is facing a social deterioration more than ever. It is up to kind people like this doctor and you. Thank you!

  • @1543fiitl It is sad that the average age exposed to hard core porn used to be 11 and now it has dropped down to the age of 8. Thank you for your comments.

  • @innergold1000 This is horrible, every parents should go talk with their children and help shape the psychology and educate them. This is unheard of, today's youth are more susceptible to sexual misconducts more than ever. This is really saddening. Thank you professor for your time and effort.

  • @1543fiitl You are correct, every parent needs to talk with their child and explain the dangers that are associated with it and the potential for addiction, just like drugs. This is one drug that is affecting people of all walks of life and all genders.

  • @innergold1000 8 years old? Are you serious?

  • @ndc18 - I wish I wasn't serious but this addiction is trapping young children and they don't know how to respond. Our brains are not meant to view such things and most of the time the children don't talk about it so it plants the seed for a very serious addiction.

  • 7:57 is sooo insightful thank you

  • the internet and all that it represents is EVIL

    DEATH TO THE FLESH....

  • You used the internet to write that stupid comment.

  • The Internet can be evil but it is only based on how the persons use it. The internet has a lot of good on it and has helped to provide educational resources that you would not otherwise receive. It depends on how you use the internet which is up to you.

  • yeah you're right... it all depends on how you use it...now i use it for bible study

    thank you for sharing

  • Due to the extensive debates regarding shock therapy, we have little to say or experience regarding the matter regarding pornography and sexual addiction recovery. Drugs that "kill libido" often lead to depression due to sexual disfunction. What we do know is that those who apply the principles of the Innergold Recovery Program have shown great progress and recovery over time. You are right that this addiction is complex but we have seen dozens of individuals gain sobriety.

  • Indeed mitigating the stresses from BLAST does reinforce the frontal cortex. Any decision that is a choice to not allowing the the limbic to be the primary decision making part of the brain stregnthens the frontal cortex.

  • Seems to me overcoming the temptation can occur at 2 other points than reinforcing the frontal cortex. 1. Mitigate the stresses from BLAST, and 2. re-teach (or treat by drugs) the Lymbic system to minimize its response to the survival instinct from the stress. Would shock treatments help "forget" the conditioning to porn? (Serious) I think there should be a medical adjunct to your program, or even medical approach alone. This addiction is far too complex. Somehow... Kill the Libido.
