But they do have around 350 000 reserves that have gone through some sort of military education whereas Sweden has abolished conscription which takes their reserves to close to nothing. But we do have around 16 000 soldiers excluding reserves. And as I said before "Quantity isn't everything." Swedish Quality weapons FTW!

I've heard finnish military training praised in researches and said to be the same level as USAs professional soldiers training. So they're not some crappy meatshields but well trained fighters.

Swedes lost their empire when they lost Finland and couldnt sent Finns fight for them anymore.
Finnish army is lot bigger than other Nordics together. Some thousands proud Swedish volunteers fought with Finland against Soviets and they are telling they hate Swedes being so pussy. Finland blocked USSR 2 times and then won Germany on Lapland War. Germany an USSR were like 2 biggest military powers of world at that time and we kicked em! COOOL? + Finns have best KILL/DEATH ratio of modern nations.

This must be joke.. They are showing American Television show called "Gay Army" and there is team Denmark, team Norway and team Sweden XD IN WWII Denmark surrendered in 2hours, Norway in 2 months. And proud Swedish vikings sold their iron ore to Hitler for half free to avoid Germans attack. Then they blocked French reinforcements on their way to help Finns, coz they feared Soviet attack shit in their diapers so much, Swedes have no experience of modern warfare.

For example Swedish fighter aircraft JAS Gripen is way behind its competitors in every scale, except price. Price is the only reason why for example Finland will propably order JAS Gripen NG in the future. Swiss Air Force ordered Gripen also because of the price, but it was last in comparison to its competitors.

Sweden ordered more than 100 Patria AMV's, but Swedish company complained about the deal, because Sweden want's to protect its own companies. This is against EU laws and Patria's deal should be the winner.
CV90 is one of the best products of Swedish military technology.
Swedish defence forces aren't better than Finnish, I am just sorry guys.
Sweden changed conscription to volunteer military, which will destroy Swedish Army, that Sweden doesn't even need.

Gotland class is the best sumbarine class in the world? Ok. Then why only Swedish Navy has ordered it? I bet it won't be even near to its competitors.
Swedish artillery is not so big and its mostly Swedish, again own companies gets the money and the jobs, quality is not so good.
By 2014, the Swedish army will have around 50 000 soldiers which means that a lot of equipment will be decommissioned.

It is among the top most used technology yes, UndE 23 radar system is among the top most used. Jas 39 Gripen is used by more than 15 different countries. Not couple. We got anti-tank weapons that many countries use, we got RPG's that is among the best in the world. You don't know what you're talking about.

The world’s main arms exporting countries are the United States, Russia, and China. Per head of the population Israel and Sweden in first and second place.
Read carefully "per head of the population". That doesn't make them biggest countries of weapon exporting.

As I said earlier Gripen is the cheapest and worse in comparison to its competitors. This is not only my opinion, it has been tested many times.

UK has one test aircraft which is leased from Swedish Air Force.
UK has already ordered Typhoon & F-35 so don't expect orders from them.
Currently Gripen has one order from Switzerland.
Gripen missed contracts to Austria, Finland, Germany, India, Poland, Norway and Romania.
Gripen will be great choice for small countries like Croatia and Slovakia in the future.
There is no "tons of orders".

Really guys? The warfare is getting much sophisticated nowadays. The amount of manpower is really not an issue. U have to have better-trained, more inteligent fighters. Specilists and more educated men and women to fight a modern war. Russia has forces that are ready to strike from their peacetime positions without warning. Cyberwarfare is the one we should be putting our taxmoney today. Nevermind the F-18's or anything else. It is a question of stratetical strikes: Communications, power etc.

@OAndersen I don't know about you, but I kinda compared the military between the countries and not everything else since we are in fact commenting on a video that displays the MILITARY awesomeness of Sweden and Finland. Not the general state of these countries.
Maybe Finland isn't that awesome besides the military, but you sure as hell can't compare Sweden to Norway. Sweden is by far to epic to be put down to such a level.

The only reason Finland has conscript service, is because we share our border with Russia (a great threat). If Russia wouldnt be our neighbour, we'd had our army in as poor state as your country has it.

@kaahaajaFIN Yes indeed the finnish army might be bigger but everything isn't about quantity. First of all, the finnish defence force consists of about 35 000 SOLDIERS mainly. But they do have around 350 000 reserves that have gone through some sort of military education whereas Sweden has abolished conscription which takes their reserves to close to nothing. But we do have around 16 000 soldiers excluding reserves. And as I said before "Quantity isn't everything." Swedish Quality weapons FTW!

I've heard finnish military training praised in researches and said to be the same level as USAs professional soldiers training. So they're not some crappy meatshields but well trained fighters.

Yes Swedish empire won a lot battles against the russian empire, but it does not mean that the shrinked swedish army of today can do the same..
And in winter war the odds were 1 finn to 10 russians, so it's the same, except finnish army was badly geared unlike swedish army.

@DontCareable1 It is modern and well trained for the simple fact; we DEMAND! and provide for our reserves a minimum of once every 3-5(depending on the field you chose when you entered armed service) during a 2½ week period, an intensive course on what has changed in their field, freshen up on their skills, marksmanship and details and know how on new peripherals and system on their respective field. Aprox 30K people on active duty every year.

@DontCareable1 and aprox 17 thousand volunteer and about 50 thousand recalled for reserve training. go through the max 2½ week re training. You cant say neither technology is far more superior swedish nor finnish, since they are very similar. We even strive to use the same calibers in our workhorse systems from assault rifles up to the artillery. Only thing you can say about finnish and swedish army in comparison is that they are bread for different functions.

Already now there are cases where the national anthem is not being played in order to avoid offending Muslims. And Malmo may soon become a Muslim majority city.
